The iPad Pro is also $150 cheaper, but comes with a much bigger, more advanced display, 4 speakers and a faster processor. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Yeah, just like my iPhone 6 Plus was....... Better hardware than the 6, but due to 1GB of ram, a lemon that crashed all the time, making the 6 the better product

Every one has their appreciations what they might use the iPad for. I think 2GB of ram turned a lot of customers off when the 9.7 Pro launched. I agree the Tru-Tone display and the quad speakers are a selling point, but is it enough to justify $600.00 for 32 GB starting point? Maybe if the 9.7 Pro started off at $500.00 with 3 or 4 Gb of ram, I'm sure we would see more of an influx.

If one can accept the larger 12.9 Pro, I feel this is on the line of what we one can appreciate In terms of Ram. I believe the iPad Pro 12.9 is slightly more powerful than the 9.7 Pro, but they both have the A9x Processor and the 12.9 iPad Pro has a higher pixel density.

In return, is the price adjustment enough to warrant the purchase or does one want the smaller sized Pro? Either way, their both great iPads.

And if you look hard enough, you can find the 12.9 Pro for at least $100.00 under Apple's price.

Just release the damn thing so we can get back to some Mac related rumours. I'm tired of iPhone rumours.

Don't see much need currently for more RAM. 2GB of RAM in the 6S+ fixed the annoying RAM issue of the 6+ and I barely experience reloads now. The smoothness of the 6S+ is one of the big reasons why I'm likely not going to upgrade to the 7. This one seems to be good enough to go 2-3 years, Apple really did a good job with the specs on it.

Will Safari still constantly reload? I'm on the 6 and it does, not sure if this was fixed in the 6s?

This was fixed with the 6s, and with any iOS device currently with 2GB of ram.

If you're going from a 6 to the 7 (non-Plus) or whatever the 2016 model is called, you will notice a big difference

Not really. This issue won't be fixed until Apple changes the way that RAM management fundamentally works in iOS. It might be a day later, but that Safari page is still going to refresh.

Except the iPad Pro has no such issues so complaining about less RAM while ignoring all the other extras you get over the iPhone Plus for $150 less is complaining for the sake of complaining if you ask me.

They better show a huge differentiator in one month, or I just jump to the galaxy note 7.

Considering no app can allocate that much RAM I find that hard to believe.

People were clueless and happy with the current generation phones until they were torn down.

You don't need to open the hood to tell a Porsche is fast but a small group of people just need to know put a number on the power it makes in order to feel better about their shortcomings elsewhere.

Do you really think that just because an app can't allocate 1GB of RAM you can't see the side effect of being low on RAM?
Do you recall ever seeing a page reload or the screen flash white while using Safari on a 6+? This is especially annoying when I'm replying to a post or filling out a form and have to switch apps. Switching back to Safari causes the reload.

People here have switched to a 6S+ and noticed the difference. The 6SE was also compared to previous versions and it was conclusively proven that the 6SE didn't have to reload its Safari tabs nearly as often as the outgoing 5S. Thanks to more RAM.

Actually the 6s does not reload tabs... it is not a matter of opinion, it is a fact.

If I use more websites and apps all open at the same time and it reloads then it's not enough ram, might be for you but for many people we prefer to have our devices go beyond and having extra ram is never a bad idea.

For perspective, at this writing there are six smartphones available with 6 GB of RAM (fully double this 3 GB prediction), and at least one more will ship before Apple ships its iPhone 7 models. The 6 GB RAM smartphones available today are:

vivo Xplay5 Elite
ZTE Axon 7
ZTE nubia Z11
Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro
LeEco Le Max 2
OnePlus 3

The LG V20 and/or Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe will likely ship before the iPhone 7. All of these devices have 5.5 inch screens, give or take. Yes, OK, Android generally requires more memory to accomplish substantially the same tasks. Nonetheless, Apple is not exactly wowing us. A bump to 4 GB of RAM across all iPhone 7 models would be somewhat more reasonable in 2016.

In for all the complaints about specs when specs have never been something Apple has pushed. It's not about the processor inside but how the software and hardware work together. This is how Apple has been able to out perform others with far higher hardware specs in the past.
Then why do they talk about new processor and how fast it can do things during the speech?

Apple likes to talk when it has a clear advantage. Other specs, Apple applies the glossiest of lip sticks. Example, the 6/6+/6S/6S+ screens. Not much to talk about there. But when Apple finally begins using OLED in iPhones, expect the endless spec analysis.

if 3gb is useful for a 5.5" iOS device in sept 2016, it seems really ****** of them to put 2gb in a 9.7" device in april 2016. (edited as i put the wrong amount initially... point stands).
