4.2.1 Greenpois0n

Question for those that got it to work...

Last night, as soon as GP was released, I got it to work on my 3g iPad using the first version, and this morning I got it to work on my Wi-Fi iPad, but I do not see the skull when they are starting, is everyone that got it to work seen the skull?

they removed the animation from the boot in the newest version afaik

One more question...

Now, I know it works, and I just had to do it, but, when running both JBs in order to get the cydia and untether, are there any down sides to this? Like extra memory usage for example? Has anyone been able to look into this?

THat explains why I don't see it on the one I did this morning then, but even on the one I did last night, within 10 mins it was released, I don't get no skull... I mean, is not like I'm complaining about not having it, just wondering if there was an error or something...

Is the Greenpois0n jailbreak working fully now?

don't want to do it until i know it's safe.

I just ran RC5_2 and used the RedSn0w method to get Cydia on. All appears to be working as it should be and I'm loading up my phone with all my previous tweaks.

What's happening to those who it's not working for?

Is your device staying in DFU mode?
Is it stuck during the jailbreak process?

Are you still able to use it even if the process fails?

I put the iPod into DFU mode and let the jailbreak run, and instead of the button saying "Complete" at the end, it says "Failed :(". It doesn't matter if I turn the iPod off or not before running Greenpois0n, nor does it matter if I put it into DFU mode before running Greenpois0n. It just fails every time. After it fails, it stays in DFU mode. I have to hold down the power and home buttons to get it to turn back on. Right now, I'm restoring the iPod to 4.2.1 to see if a fresh installation will work.

In the new version, which works, the skull appears on the iphone but not the ipad. I used the same version to do both, the updated one from this morning. To remove the skull on the iphone I used iphone explorer and simply deleted the animate files in the root/user/bin folder.

Ok, restore to 4.2.1 via iTunes (until the set up a new ipod comes up). Start greenpois0n then, get it into DFU like it said, and as soon as the white screen pops up on the iPod, mash your sleep and home buttons. Worked for me this morning on iPod touch 4G.
