I think it would be a good idea to post what flavour of iPad you're testing with as I'm on a 16Gb wi-fi and not seeing the email or settings bugs.
Just a thought :)

A few bugs here and there, but nothing major that makes me want to cringe.

It's such a stable build, that if someone gave me their iPad to use with this 4.2 beta running, I wouldn't even think about it being a beta unless they told me.

I posted this in anything thread, but I feel like I should repost it in this thread, cause it was a major bug for me.

Well Fate has determined what will happen with my 64GB WiFi iPad. My wifi completely stopped working all of a sudden. Then I try to open settings and it crashes. Rebooted multiple times. One time it did open but it said no wifi available. LOL! Strangely enough, after the multiple reboots, and letting it sit for a while, it did start working again, but I couldn't take the chance.

So anyway, I'm back to 3.2.2 now, and it runs so much smoother. I didn't even realize cause I was so dazzled with 4.2's features.

Anyhow, here is to hoping you never run into the WiFi bug.

I'm on 64Gb wifi and am having the email problems. Wouldn't imagine difference in memory should make any difference with email.
I'm sure it'll be fixed Tuesday week in Beta2

WSJ app frequently has missing text in articles. App freezes and will not return to Start Screen. After closing and relaunch App stuck on Wall Street Journal then crashes.

I'm having the same issue. Glad it's not just me. I've tried removing and reinstalling the app. and have also cleared out the cache through the link on the FAQ section, all to no avail.

I'm not sure if this was in 3.2 but in the iPod app when I look at my music in album view the songs are not listed in the correct order. It seems to sort them alphabetically.

Try changing dns settings to 8.8.8.8 it's a google dns...no issues for me after.

I'm back on 3.2.2 number one. And number two, it wasn't that my wifi was working and I couldn't connect to the Internet. It was as if my wifi hardware was completely removed from my iPad. I'd rather not have that happen to me ever again. I can wait for multitasking and folders. Not a big deal to me.

Yeah that happens to me too when I get to work in a new area of wifi...a simple reboot fixes that.

This is what happened to me.

I noticed this issue as well. All of the music is sorted alphabetically when viewing in Album mode. Not very good if you want to play an album from start to finish.

Double clicking the button to get the multi-tasking bar is actually quite difficult. I think they need to increase the amount of time between clicks which is allowed.

I think it might have been increased actually. I thought it was uncomfortable too but then I tried making two slow clicks and it works fine. Try not to think of double clicking in terms of a mouse, but more like simply pressing a button two times.

I rebooted three times. It did not fix it.

It fixed it for me...and my settings don't crash either..at all...hmmm

Zinio (the magazine app), behaving eratically on my 64Gb WiFi iPad.

Sometimes works, sometimes starts with a completely blank screen, sometimes freezes my iPad forcing a compete reset (Power/Home buttons).

A couple of my iTunes purchased music videos playback strangely. Broken, overlayed, choppy picture.

Overall though, quite stable for a first beta.

Again, even with the Wifi issue when leaving a wifi hotspot, and coming back to it to find no found wifi network, isn't big enough for me to switch back to 3.2...

I'm still loving everything about 4.2 and will just wait for future beta releases...hopefully the next beta release will fix the wifi...it just seems like a software issue.

It's definitely a software issue, LOL :). I'll wait till November, that's my gut feeling. Cause going back to 3.2.2 I couldn't restore my backup. Bummer.

One other bug that I've come across is that I'm unable to email photos from the Photos App. If I select an image and try to email it the Mail App crashes as it tries to load in the photo.

Ive no volume on anything. Songs, videos, YouTube - nothing. No volume notification comes up when I press the volume buttons either. All works with headphones in though..

Oh no..
This post

and the thread it's in describes what I'm seeing. Restoring now to 3.2.1 with fingers crossed it fixes it.

:edit: restored and all good. Phew!
So there's a big bug and one that warrants going back for me. No volume isn't much use to me I'm afraid. Roll on beta2!

Not sure if this is new or not, or even a bug, but the low battery indictor comes in at 10% and 5% now

Not sure why people have pop mail problems. I don't have a single one. I have 4 pop and 3 imaps and my mail has never crashed on 4.2.
