4.3.1 Jailbreak Untethered by The iPhone Dev Team Released!

Should I update my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.1 with iTunes before re-jailbreaking?
I'm currently on 4.0.1 and it's jailbroken at jailbreakme.com.

Is pwnagetool prefered when I'm on Mac, or is redsn0w just as fine?

hey I just upgraded to 4.3.1 and when I open up redsnow it asks for the ipsw? where can i get it?

edit .. nvm got it
 
Under 7 it lives in this folder:

C:\Users\Elvis\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
 
Cell Phone not working after JB

I just did the 4.3.1 jb and all went well except. . the phone doesn't work. . .there is no ATT logo and only 1 bar in the upper right hand corner. when I try to call it immediately says call failed.

I did not unlock, just JB.

Any ideas?

Now it just says "no service"

It's not which one is better. The decision is do you have to maintain your current baseband. If yes, then pwnagetool is the only option.

If not, redsnow is simpler to use, IMO.
 
Anyone else noticed that restoring to 4.3.1, there are no pop-ups like "iPhone is activated" and the other pop-up which use to appear after a fresh install of every iOS. Do I have a botched install or is this universal?
 
There's nothing to be scared about. Took me all of 15 minutes from the time I sat down at my iMac.

I don't have to preserve my baseband because I don't unlock. thank you so much :D
 
mine is getting stuck in uploading to ramdisk!!!!

any help?

I've done it a couple of times and each time it goes a little further, but keeps getting stuck there... iphone 4 4.3.1

edit...

it get stuck in either first, second or third blocks of uploading to ramdisk.

iPhone 4 running 4.3.1. Never jailbroken before. Thinking of trying first time. So I just download redsnow and run it, it will take care of everything? What is this signal problem I'm hearing about? Will this JB cause problem with signals and cellular service? As much as I want to JB but I don't want to lose phone it's prime facility of being a phone.
