So how much are you going to pay in total for that ridiculously expensive $849 phone? $35 x 12 + $199?
There is no $199 down-payment anymore. It went away with the old contracts and "subsidies"
Today's monthly phone payment is derived from the full retail price divided into 24 payments. There is no finance fee. My monthly phone payment is simply this:
$849 / 24 = $35.41 a month
The point is... as I stated earlier... premium smartphones have always had a high retail price.
But you never had to pay the full retail price all at once then... and you don't now either.
So I don't know why the earlier commentor was shocked by the idea of a $900 phone. They're already here... and have been here for a long time.
