That's exactly right. Problem on these forums is too many Apple fanboys who will defend Apple like there some kind of family member.

Then some people get involved in spec debates without being educated about it. You can have some great debates on these forums, just a few who let it down with verbal attacks. Soon find out if it has 2 or 1.

Yet, you are here and still buying their products. They must be doing something right. Funny.

More RAM = more capability. What about multi-tasking? Have any clue which system resource that would rely most heavily on? I'll give you a hint; it starts with "R" and rhymes with spam.

Apple can't ignore upgrading RAM forever. Having only 1GB for the 3rd iteration really makes the devices seem obsolete out of the gate. I feel like Apple is just being stubborn and greedy maximizing profit margins and saving internal spec upgrades for next year's "S" models.

Once again....seeing as you can't read.

If it needs it, it will get it. If it doesn't it won't.

Go buy a Samsung phone so you can read how great your specs are all day long. Oh wait, you still want an iPhone. Isn't that funny.

Maybe a good reason for lesser returns.

Battery life & RAM are my two main reasons on keeping 6+ over the 6.

I know the 6 Plus has a 38% larger battery that has to power a larger display/ppi, but heck even 25% better battery life can make all the difference in the world during a day. Like 2-3 hr better screen time usage can separate you from being labeled a "Wall Hugger." This is why tablets and phablets became popular. Not just bigger screens but excellent battery life. On my Androids, I monitor my battery usage and RAM like a hawk. Battery for stamina. RAM for any potential slowdowns of many apps running in the background, future-proofing for heavier apps/games, and overall smoothness/performance. RAM is the bottleneck. Too many apps opened, it starts to choke.

A battery with 25% improvement and 1 extra gig of RAM might not mean much to the common joe, but they can make all the difference in the world at the end for power users. On lower end Androids, 1 GB of RAM is a big difference to us than if it was only 512 MB esp if you are on Jelly Bean which is a resource hog. 6+ just seems better in the longer run.

But hey, if people care about keeping one of their hands unoccupied even though you probably use two hands to text anyway or just prefer looser jean pockets more, the 6 is always there for you. No right or wrong choice. Just what you prefer.

The point is Apple ALWAYS puts out a product that performs. If the phone needs 2gb to run smooth, then it will have it. If it doesn't need it, then it won't.

I think the phone ought to have 2GB RAM to run smoother but that it has only 1GB. Don't forget planned obsolescence. This way they can put 2GB in the iPhone 6S !

macworld shilling a product they've touched for a few minutes.

We probably won't know until Friday how much RAM it has.

I think any RAM threads should be treated as "political" threads here. Any participants should have a certain post count and/or a "computer 101" verification attached to their user account.

1GB of RAM is a joke in 2014(device to carry through 75% of 2015, for some, 2016, or longer).

If I were not due a subsidized upgrade last year, I wouldn't have gotten a 5S because it needed more RAM as well. It had enough "new" features to convince me it was worth it but the 6/6+ does not. It's a big screened 5S, "if" it has 1GB RAM.

You're still making the assumption that it has 2GB of RAM...

I think this will be where we're at. Apple knows the screen size will sell these phones, no need to give us really good specs.

6S+ will be well specced with 2GB for certain.

Do you sniff paint for a living? Maybe try graduating high school first before coming here and trying to make a point and subsequently, a rebuttal.

My concern is that iPhone apps will be optimized for the 1080 resolution and the 'scaling' being applied to the 6 devices, which sound like might have less capability to process it. :(

Then buy something else. Oh wait, another guy who will buy an iPhone and then come here and complain about it daily.

it's very unlikely Apple would differentiate the memory in its current flagship devices.

I'm not so sure about that. One, Apple has never sold 2 same-generation versions of an iPhone at the same time before. The 6 and 6 Plus are different, and the difference in pixel count is directly related to RAM usage. Two, they do it all the time with Mac products. Right now their 13" MacBook Pros have 8GB of RAM, the higher-resolution 15" MBPs have 16GB.

Actually, I hold an MS in Accounting.

Nice try. Attack my education level, which I would bet is well above yours, because you had nothing else to say on the subject being discussed.

Once again. Go buy a Samsung phone so you can daydream about specs all day. Oh wait, you still want the phone you are talking about poorly....the iPhone. Isn't that funny.

I'm not attacking your intelligence; your poor lack of understanding (and logic) take care of that just fine. MS in Accounting? I believe you. Stick with numbers since you seem to have issues with making sense of words.

Oh damnit, I think I just fed a troll...

Whoah, that's super clever what you did there. It's almost like I actually said that! That MS degree sure did pay off, lad.

I'm actually quite glad you're here on these forums; people need to be reminded about the dangers resulting from inbreeding. (This is the part where you make another one of your genius rebuttals).

I've been watching you guys for awhile and it's quite comical and pathetic at the same time. Truce?

Is this actually true? I thought issues regarding AMOLED saturation were solved a while ago, no? And I thought Samsung's display was considered one of—if not the—best.

Makes me wonder why Apple has never considered AMOLED displays for their iPhones. AMOLED is much more battery efficient.

Unless you look at White screens all day, like web browsing, texting, email etc

One can like Apple and choose to buy products without being happy about every single decision they make. Overall the Apple experience is still superior, but 1GB RAM would definitely limit these phones' capabilities.

Tell the people who have more than a few tabs open in Safari how fine an iPad Air works with 1GB of RAM...

I always love this complaint...... I have 20 screens open and it takes forever to load..... Hmmmm I know people expect to be able to have 100 screens open running content and not have any ram issues but maybe your expectations are a bit high?

Samsungs Note 4 has been said to be the BEST smartphone screen ever produced by displaymate and they back that up with lots of test data, go have a read...

Oh HELLL no. I had a note 3 , my 5 s screen much better. Stop reading reviews and go pick one up
