Most are not understanding the very low-level technical details involved. The A8 is full 64-bit processor and it is exceptionally better at memory management than the SnapDragon or Samsung 8-core chips -- those may have more "brute force" but they are ungainly in how they operate. In essence, they need to run a lot faster to achieve what the A8 can do at far lower clock speeds or RAM capacities.

The difference in core cost between 1GB and 2GB RAM capacities within the A8 core is pennies, but why add something that is not needed? Apple's engineering ethos is concerned with effectiveness and efficiency, not having the highest GHz or RAM amount "because others do it".

Besides, if you chose things like a smart phone based on pure technical specs, you really need to get out more and use the devices. Spec-based choosing is a dumb game because next month there will be something available with increased specs.

This echoes the old-worlde arguments between Windows-users and Mac-users when Windows was running on 2Ghz processors and Macs were on half that and still outperforming them.

i don't think you are understanding. do you have an iPad air or mini retina? Reloading of tabs happens way too much and it shouldn't. Given the "level" of chip you say it should be match with enough ram to not crash apps ALL THE TIME.
have you read through some peoples complaints on here or just skipped to the end and posted what you think is right?

He said NOTE 4. Not the Note 3.

Yes, the Note 4 display is probably better.

Thanks, Thread poster obviously didn't read my post lol.... Anyway the article is at http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_Note4_ShootOut_1.htm

"Based on our extensive Lab tests and measurements, the Galaxy Note 4 is the Best performing Smartphone display that we have ever tested. It matches or breaks new records in Smartphone display performance for: Highest Absolute Color Accuracy, Highest Screen Resolution, Infinite Contrast Ratio, Highest Peak Brightness, Highest Contrast Rating in Ambient Light, and the smallest Brightness Variation with Viewing Angle. Its Color Management capability provides multiple Color Gamuts – a major advantage that is not currently provided by any of the other leading Smartphones. The Galaxy Note 4 delivers uniformly consistent all around Top Tier display performance: it is the first Smartphone display to ever get all Green (Very Good to Excellent) Ratings in all test and measurement categories (except one Yellow for a Brightness Variation with Average Picture Level) since we started the Display Technology Shoot-Out article Series in 2006, an impressive achievement for a display. The Galaxy Note 4 has again raised the bar for top display performance up by another notch."

I read it just fine. Amoled is crap. The note 3 was worse then my 3GS. I literally hate the colors and the fake look to the screen. It's like dog crap in HD

This hits the nail on the head. It's like the Macbook Airs with 4GB RAM, you wouldn't get that level of performance out of a 4GB Windows laptop.

I can't speak for others experiences but the multiple tab issue is only present for me when using Safari, if I use Chrome on my Air or 5s the issue is non existent, to me it's clearly a software issue rather than a lack of memory.

No-one has an A8, mate. So no-one has been complaining about it. Catch up. The core design of A8 is significantly different from A7. It's memory management, thread management, core switching, speed switching - all are different and far more optimised than A7.

It is indeed a software issue. iOS Safari still has some sludgy code that needs to be culled and it is this that manifests itself in poor operations at times. There are a number of memory leaks from Safari after you have 4 tabs open at once and this causes the OS to spend too much time swapping stuff around and garbage collecting.

What is that meant to prove? They have no clue. It probably does have 1gig but it will be a nice surprise if it turns out to be 2.

Who said it was meant to prove anything...

I just asked if people have seen the article. I didn't comment on the validity of it.

Read thru many posts not all. Why the arguments? It seems like it will be revealed for sure within a couple days so why argue about speculation?

Also why would anyone care if it has 2 or 1 gb? In other words, I'm getting the 6. Why would I care if the 6+ gets 2 gb? Why the hostility over this.?

If it is 2gb ram, all the guys hatin on the plus gonna be jelly

Uh... No. I'm not "hatin" on the 5.5", it's just not what I want. I'm happy u are thrilled with your purchase, but you seem to be a bit hypocritical and bitter -- pretty much taunting the 4.7" buyers you are accusing of hating, or at least thinking you are superior b/c that's what you bought. Why? It's a phone.

Honestly, if the 4.7" 6 performs as well as my 5 has the amount of RAM inside is irrelevant to me. I'm not going to be jelly, whatever that means. I'm solid with my decision.

Don't worry buddy, both iPhones have 1gb ram anyway

If that's the case then the 4.7" version will have more RAM to play with than the 5.5". All those complaining of Safari webpage reloads would be better off with the 4.7". That said, 1GB is quite frankly insufficient on any device, even the iPhone 5 *if* you dislike browser and app reloading.
