Trying to run my new iPhone 6 Plus battery down to 1% so I can charge it all the way up for the first time. 12 hours in under heavy use, and I'm still at 16%. That's impressive, especially given the gazillions of notifications I get.

You just bought it though. Wait awhile and see how long it stays that good.

Best I've got was 9.5 hours with 24 hours standby. With no bluetooth, location services and background app refresh down to a minimum. Phone was set up as new. Also have done a restore in iTunes and set up again as new. Apple support chat said there was nothing wrong, all looked fine. How are you guys getting 12+ hours of usage?

looks like it's getting better!

check it out

I was told to setup as new, which I've already tried

Interesting thing though - he said that these apps are having problems, so I am going to try a fresh restore again, downloading the firmware again as well, as he seems to think it is corrupt (the firmware):

backboardd, com.apple.WebKit, SpringBoard

From my jailbreaking days, I know that backboardd is an integral daemon that runs along side springboard, which is also corrupt, per the tech

Will restore as new tonight and report back tomorrow afternoon

Let us know what they say!

I'm satisfied. Yesterday, I finished with 10 hours of usage and 15 hours of standby before the phone shutdown. The primary usage was safari and sling player.

Today, I'm currently at 50% charge at 3pm with 6 hours of usage and 10 hours standby after spending all day traveling (much of it was on airplane mode) playing spotify and using ibooks.

I timed battery usage on safari and it was near where apple said it should be. While actively browsing, I saw a drop of 5% per thirty minutes on the hotel's wifi. That would make it 10% per hour, or 100% in 10 hours.

Getting back into my normal usage routine at work and home, it's going to certainly make it through one day. I charge every night, so I'm quite content.

I think I got a super battery. Very pleased!

That's great usage.

One thing, though.

Lithium-ion discharge rate is not uniform all the way to 00%. The discharge rate increases on a curve once you get past 10-20%.

My phone has been getting this kind of usage for the past 2 days and I'm not very pleased to be honest. I was getting those kind of numbers with 5 with same setup and usage. I wonder if T Mobile WiFi is the culprit for both of us...

I was thinking the same thing in regards to the T-Mobile WiFi.

I honestly don't know what to make of it cause I've had that feature since last Friday and the first few days I was blown away by the battery usage (11 hours usage with 30 hours standby) and my usage habits haven't change yet my battery has been getting worse every day.

If some people feel their battery is draining significantly faster than others, an easy thing to try is to just POWER DOWN the iPhone and turn it back on.

Most of us never turn it off, and it's been on since it came out of the box.

Mine was like that (draining too fast compared to my iPhone 5) so I powered down and back on. It's been GREAT ever since. Simple to do and takes 1 MIN to try...

Disappointed after reading all those "lasted 2 days" reviews. I'm getting about 7 hours use + 15 hours standby which is comprised of WiFi 5 GHz & LTE Web browsing, about an hour of phone calls on Bluetooth (WiFi & BT toggled off when not in use), screen on auto brightness about 50-100% depending, Pinterest browsing, messages & email. I've checked Location Services, etc. to make sure nothing is jammed on and all looks normal.

This is better than my 5S to be sure but just not quite the mind-blowing performance I was expecting. Here's a screenshot at 5% battery on a typical day...

Even better on the second full charge and drain. Love this phone so far...hopefully this battery holds up better over time than my previous iPhone batteries.

Can you download the Battery Doctor app and tell me how many hours remaining you have on a full charge on your unit? I'm at 100% and tells me I have 22 hours and half remaining. I honestly feel my battery is getting worse every day.

Does auto-brightness significantly improve battery life?

I've always just manually put it at half-way brightness, but just wondering how much auto conserves.

try turning off auto brightness. i set mine to 50% and get well over 10 hrs now. when i was outside brightness would shoot all the way up and definitely changes battery life that way. I also turned off bluetooth when I'm not using. some apps i turns off for using in the background. been playing around with it since friday. i had this so far today.
76%
4 hrs 44 minutes
10 hrs 41 minutes standby

streamed music at the gym for an hr and a half. Somewhat light usage besides that but not super light. keeps getting better everyday.

This is as long as I can last tonight, have to go to bed. Tried to drain the battery. Heavy usage.

Mine says 24 hours but I know it is longer because if I let it go, I get 1 day, 13-16 hours of standby.
