Did you fail to add in the screen dimensions as well? Here, let me do it for you.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 dimensions: 5.5" 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm, 168g

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 dimensions: 5.7" 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm, 176g

iPhone 6+ dimensions: 5.7" 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1mm, 172g

The 6+ is 5.5" bro.

To me it depends on how you use your phone. Funny enough I get the least use out of it as a phone. Therefore the idea that it looks silly with a tablet up to your ear does not carry water.

After playing with mine for the past 6 or so hours I can see why it would be too big for some people. Personally, I think it's flawless. And my god it's gorgeous (as is the regular 6). I think the general iPhone consumer will prefer the regular 6, whereas Android fans and tech enthusiasts will prefer the Plus (as I do).

I think the reports of the 6 Plus's size have been greatly exaggerated. From what people were saying online, you'd think the phone was unusable.

Picked mine up this morning as a replacement for my 4S, and going from a 3.5" to a 5.5" phone, the 6 Plus is surprisingly comfortable. I can still accomplish many tasks one-handed. And I notice I now make a lot less typing mistakes when using the 6 Plus. It also fits in my tightest pair of jeans, although it does stick out a tiny bit.

Honestly, did people think Apple, let alone any smartphone manufacturer, would come out with a phone, a device that people now carry everywhere with them and use several times a day, that was unacceptably large? I am 5'6" and my hand is seven inches long measured from the tip of the middle finger to the bottom of my palm. The size is really a non-issue.

Of course, I'm not saying the 6 Plus is the right choice for everyone. Phones come in a variety of sizes for a reason; people use their phones for different purposes. Some of them just want to make calls; others want a media powerhouse. But for the phablet category, the 6 Plus has great ergonomics, and its slim profile definitely helps.

Just got the 6+ today. When opening the box, I admit was quite intimidating to see how big the phone is. After restoring the backup from my old 5S and using it for a few hours, it's actually not that bad. The extra screen space is quite nice as I can type much more accurately with the on screen keyboard. It fits nicely in my pants pocket, about as large as my check book.

Plan on going to the apple store to check out the cases. The fit and finish is nice, but I wonder of it's too smooth, which will be prone to dropping.

I suppose the ultimate test will be at the gym.

Have got one of each (both 64GB) so will be trying one at a time and will stick with what I feel is best for daily use. Currently have the Plus with the SIM card in and yes it is HUGE!! Took it round town today and was conscious about it slipping out of my suit trouser pocket so was almost holding it in there. Used to put my 5 in there then twist it landscape mode so it was secure, no chance with this one. My heart wants me to have the Plus, bigger screen, better battery etc. but my head is saying save £80 and go for the 6 which will be easier to use in general. Already have an iPad air I can use at home but then the head doesn't always overrule the heart!

Exactly my thoughts. My Plus is just perfect for how I use the iPhone and I completely concur that it is absolutely GORGEOUS!

I went to an AT&T corporate store and saw it and the gal asked me if I had any questions. I must have been only a minute or so. I walked out saying " no thanks, I already have an Ipad Mini". :)

I got my 6 Plus today and I absolutely love it so far, but the one "gotcha" moment that I experienced was when I went to listen to Spotify on my walk to the store. I quickly realized that the Plus is not nearly as good a music player as my 5 was, because I can't quickly whip it out of my pocket and navigate my playlists with one hand.

I still love the device, but I'm giving it a week to see how it holds up in various real world situations. Tomorrow morning, the Plus goes to the gym :)

There are so many pluses (pun intended) to the larger screen though, and so far it's a joy to use. Just a matter of weighing the pros and cons.

i was holding the 6+ and thought it was too big for my hands. I felt like I was going to drop it so I gave it back to the original owner.

Man you better guard the Plus with your life at the gym considering their availability. I know I wouldn't take it there. An older Ipod Touch is all I ever bring.

Gutted i had to sell mine on eBay today

re-ordered a iphone 6 with mid Oct date :(

Simply cant stretch my thumb across the screen half centimetre too short (that's what she said) :D

Made a small profit so not all bad

I think I may have to do this, but how do you sell the phone if it's attached to your account?

I'm reading and writing this on my plus. My feeling is that it's like going from standard definition squared television to high def widescreen. I couldn't be happier!

it gives me cramps in my hand / fingers and is so uncomfortable to hold in bed. the first drop is also just waiting to happen cuz ironically it seems too light for its size. ill switch it out for the normal 6

it also seemed stupid to get such a big device if i already own an iPad. Guess i had to learn the hard way :p

I'm 5'9 and it's fine for me. I tried using my 5S after using it and it was very strange indeed.

I'm the same height and I agree with you. I'm very happy so far. It might get me to cancel my iPad data plan soon. And my 5 seems very very tiny now

I'm still waiting on UPS delivery to bring my 6 Plus today. I am not sure I will like the huge size as a phone I carry with me everywhere on a daily basis but I am going to keep it a week and give it a chance before I reject it for any initial awkwardness.

I would love to see a thread solely about inital impressions and then impressions exactly one week later of real world practical use of the Plus. That would be insightful. Just that. Every one gets to post there initial review. Then a week later, edit that initial post to include the review one week later. So you can read both reviews back to back in one post.

Me too. I eventually sold my Note 3 but it took 2 months before I had enough using it as my daily driver. One of the better rated smartphones out there but folks also went for the S5 instead and also the Mini than the larger Ipads. Portability and them being more comfortable to hold and use.

I wanted the 6 plus ever since it was announced because of OIS. But this morning I was undecided. Ended up picking one up and absolutely ****ing love it. Feels lighter then my 5 and nexus 5. Fits perfect in my hand and I seriously can't go bigger. This phone is better to hold and use then the note 3.

my 6 plus is coming monday
just went to the apple store to check them out

i am so glad i got the plus it is perfect

most in the store agreed and those that ordered the 6 were disappointed

6 Plus - It's TOO BIG!

So glad to hear many of the positive reviews! Mine won't be here for a month but I was beginning to have 2nd thoughts regarding the plus, but the larger size screen and apple pay are the main reason I decided to upgrade from my 5s. The old eyes just aren't what they used to be ;)

You realize you can dictate your text. I do it all the time. I rarely ever type a text in the car (and only at a stoplight if I do). The rest of the time I just use the dictation. Talk loud and keep the message short seems to be the trick. I only seem to run into problems when I say my youngest name, Eirynn (pronounced Erin). A lot of the time Siri will put in "Aaron". Then I have to try again and speak loudly and then it will put in Erin, which is still wrong but I figure my wife gets the point.

You can put a nickname or spell phonetically in her contact card. I use this for family members so I can just say "call Mom". Works really well with unique or hard to pronounce names.
