Starting to wish I had the 6 purely for the size and practicality of it. It really is the sweet spot for me. The features on the Plus are incredible. But after using the plus for a day, I'm not too sure I'll be able to get used to it! I love using my phone one handed and I can more or less use the Plus one handed but it's not comfortable. Landscape on it is great as well.

If I got this on a 2 year contract with AT&T, how difficult would it be to swap it with a 6? I'd imagine it would be at least a week until I could...what should I do if I wanted to?

When you are used to handling 8.5" from time to time, handling an iPhone 6+ is not a hard task. I find it fits in my hands just fine- but I have big hands as I'm 6'1 215lbs and do have above average sized hands. I think the iPhone 6+ is suited for bigger men and the iPhone 6 for girls and small, underdeveloped men.

To each his own. Some people like to drive Smart Cars some people like to drive full sized vehicles that don't look like baby shoes.

This could be the dumbest thing I have ever read in the history of the internet. Humanity just shed a tear today.
Funny. I thought your post was pretty dumb myself. Underdeveloped men? Really?

I went to the Apple Store to check out the 6+ today. I was so set on the 6+ prior to the announcement event by Apple. And now that I've seen it, it's just too big. The size was not what I imagined. The 6 is a better option for me. The 6+ also slipped out of my hands a couple times when I was trying it out with one hand in the store.

Lastly, the colors all look kind of bland. I wasn't impressed by the colors or design like I was with the 4/4S and the Gold 5S only. It wasn't until I got the Gold 5S for my parents that I found the 5 impressive.

I'm going to get the 6+ for my parents in exchange for their Gold 5S. The only issue is they talked me into getting them a 16GB 5S. I wish it was at least 32GB.

It's TOO BIG!... that's what she said!

5.5 inches is really big. I don't think I can grip it tightly to make it work.

Everyone is entitled to their views, but it's simply not really a requirement that phones have to be used one-handed, and in many ways, people use phones as productivity devices, and a smaller screen makes tasks a harder focus point and harder to work on.

There is a reason the 6 Plus sold so well, and that's because there is a large market for larger phones. There's also a market for smaller-than-largest phones. The era of 4 inch phones is truly dead, though.

I went to the Apple Store early this afternoon to see the 6+ in person (since mine was still sitting on a UPS truck). It took all of 30 seconds to know it was the phone I wanted. The size, the screen, the responsiveness were all good. I did pick up an iPhone 6 to compare the two, and it felt almost too skinny and even a bit on the flimsy side. It took a few minutes to get used to the form factor and new placement of the power button, but I'm finding the phone easier to read and noticeably faster across the board.

i haven't read every post on here but after only one day my 6 plus is going back to apple. for me, and its only my opinion its like a big phone for old people, you know.......bit like the phones you would find in magazines for the elderly, with big dialers, and words. the keyboard my old mother loves! ;)

After a day of use I can say that I am very happy with the 6+ and wouldn't want to go back to a smaller screen. Already the 6 feels too small and my 5s by comparison feels completely tiny (although having tried larger screens before it always has to me.)

I have been able to do a decent comparison between them, I got a 6+ and I bought a regular 6 for my missus.

I'm 6'3 and my other half is a good foot shorter than me so between us we cover both sides of the fence. She thinks the 6+ is just crazily big and struggles to hold it comfortably and steadily to use and thinks she would just constantly drop it and that's with two handed use.

I've got pretty big hands (my smallest finger is a good bit longer than her biggest finger :D ), I can easily wrap my hand right round the 6+ and in use I can reach from the bottom of the screen to the top with my thumb. In fact I can reach anywhere on the screen with only minimal grip adjustment and I think that once my case arrives and I'm not babying the 6+ so much, that'll become even easier.

I think there is naturally going to be varying opinion when there is such a difference in both screen size and the size of the device. And thats good, we wouldn't want to be all the same now would we?

I love the 6+ and would happily recommend it. But I would caution the petite amongst us, with dainty little hands and no experience of large screen devices, to either try the 6+ or another large screen device first. Because you may find that for you even using two hands becomes a little impractical when you take into consideration things like, walking down the street while texting.

So really and not at all surprisingly I think the real questions are, is the 6+ too big? No. Is the 6 too small? No.

It is simply a matter of preference and ones ability to comfortably use a device. For some the 6+ is definitely too much to handle (literally). While some, like me, will welcome the change and say that finally Apple have made a device which feels like the right size for my hands.

iPhone 6 Plus - reason it's big...
Coming from a nexus 5 here is why I think all these posts about "its too big" etc are incorrect.

1. The 6+ is not a phone but a phablet. It's ment to be big. People who bought it thinking oh since it's the biggest its the best attitude need to reevaluate why they bought this. It's big for a reason as it caters for a different type of market.

2. Landscape view and browsing websites games movies and Netflix makes the 6+ in my opinion the ultimate device. That's what I use my phone for anyway. Apple took that into account and boosted the resolution on this thing to make things like that more enjoyable compared to a 4.7inch. In comparison the 4.7 inch is an all rounder and the next step in the iPhone line the 6+ is not... hence its catered to that select group of people who don't just want a phone resolution but near a tablet in their pocket.

3. The reason I went with a nexus 5 after my iPhone 5 was the size of the screen. But given that I use my phone as a portable computer more the 6+ is perfect for me. The 4.7inch would have been too small.

Please keep the above factors in mind. iPhone 6+ is not a normal iPhone. It's for people who want a large screen which gives maximum pleasure in multimedia etc. if you are looking for an all rounder the iPhone 6 is the best one as its more pocketable and portable. Don't think that because it's a bigger size it's the greatest iPhone... It's not... It's all about what you use it for. Be informed before you buy people.

Really? Because I'm typing on my 6+ right now with 1 hand with ease. Guess that shoots down your theory. Have fun with your 6.
Im sorry but you cant use ANY 5.5" device with one hand reliably. Ive got big hands (Over 6 feet tall) and even with a Nexus 5 with the 5" screen i struggle to use it one handed.

So my pre-orders for the 6 and 6 Plus 64GB both arrived today.. and I am glad I bought both.

I demo'd a Galaxy Note 3 and thought I would be okay with the 6 Plus, but I find it's just too heavy and too large to be able to use at the same speed and comfort that I can use my 5 at.

With the 6, I can reach the edges of the screen fine, and it's not noticeably heavier than my 5. With the 6 Plus, it's considerably heavier, and impossible to reach all buttons without overstretching or using another hand - to the point where after 10 minutes of use I found it uncomfortable and sore.

I'm going to be putting my 6 Plus on eBay I think. I really LOVE the screen and camera, and the battery life enhancements are what encouraged me to buy the 6 Plus in the first place, but I don't think I can deal with this!

Anybody else care to share their opinion?

Wouldn't it be fair to use it for a few weeks before making a judgement? You're used to an iPhone 5 now.

And i thought i'd love it ....

Work up this morning ... trying to read the forum 1-handed and just couldn't do it ... its too top-heavy in 1 hand and hard to reach ... and i'm a 6'3" big bloke.

Seems like 4 of us this morning on the UK thread are in same boat... I just reserved my 6 from local apple store and 6+ is going back.

They dropped the ball on the length/height of the 6+ ... Needed narrow bezels on top/bottom to make it shorter... it doesn't balance imho

Gonna miss OIS and the screen no-doubt but i also think there is still a bit of a retina tax on the processor...

Did anyone seriously think they'd be able to use a 6+ one handed?

It's quite funny reading people saying that it's too big and they can't use it in one hand... no ****. Phablets are not supposed to be one handed devices.

For me its just when reading an article on a website... that kind of use i expect 1-hand.... but because of the balance of the device and height it feels like its pulling away all the time and have to keep a much tighter grip on it ....

I know a lot of functions you would use 2-hand but dunno...

Whilst my phone was out for delivery I went shopping for cases yesterday. Iphone 6 cases were the only on a available in most shops, simply because they never had a plus to sell in the first place. Before I looked at the tag to say what phone it was for I genuinely thought I was looking at 6 plus case. Oops

I saw one in the flesh eventually during my shopping trip and I was taken aback. I got home to try mine out, I love the size but Siri will certainly be used more. Playing music is awkward but that will give my Pebble a second life before the apple watch. The Internet is beautiful on it however. I do love it it's just a shock lol

This is what I have nevertheless understood. Why if someone else makes a choice it has to be a bad one? Yes there will be people that did not realize how big the 6+ was and want to return it. Many though knew what they were getting into (me), and live the screen size. Serious stop crying about the phone and return it. All you who wanted the 6+ and they were sold out. Stop crying, and telling everyone how awful the big phone is.

So after reading this thread, I have came to the following conclusion. I am the only person in the universe who apparently can use the 6+ one handed with zero problem. And I'm only 5'7". LOVE it and have no regrets getting it. Remember everyone, get what makes YOU happy.

People saying it's a phablet it's meant to be big. No kidding sherlock. The point is the 6+ IS big EVEN in phablet category. The Note 3/4 and LG G3 are all more weildly than the 6+. The 6+ simply has too much bezels. They need to give it the Air treatment.

Guys, what's going on over here? I hope I'm just missing the satire... I hope the 6+ doesn't become some kind of symbol for REAL men or folks just buy the 6+ because they think bigger is better???!!!

I'm quite the opposite of a small guy at nearly 2meters height and use a 17" MBP and the full-size iPad, but there are quite some sensible practicality reasons for a lot of folks to just get the 4,7" iPhone!

I need to still be able to comfortably carry my phone with me in my pockets, without being afraid that it will accidentally fall out of my shirt/pants because of its enormous size. As a guy, try to have your iPhone 6+ in your jeans and tie your shoes... It's uncomfortable as hell!!!!!!

Actually I believe the 6+ is a good choice for women because they have a purse to carry it in...

Let's not forget that a iphone is not only a pocket computer but also a MOBILE device and therefore bigger is not always better... Anyway, Enjoy your 6+

Nope, not arguing that bigger is better, all comes down to personal preference. I have a plus. I might have liked the 4.7" model as well but wanted something bigger than that but smaller than my rMini. The plus fills that need. I wear cargo pants and shorts a lot so I have no problem bending over to tie my shoes with it in my pocket. If I have jeans on I will take it out of the pocket or have it in my hoodie pocket or on a holster on my belt. Either way, I will find a way.

To each their own.

Ugh yeah I totally mistyped the whole thing. Sorry.

LOL, copy no problem. I like the notes shape screen better than the iPhone plus but oh well. Just nice to not have to strain so hard to read on my iP5 anymore.

6 Plus - It's TOO BIG!

Where did this idea come from that you have to have be a large person or have large hands to use a big phone? What does it matter if you're 6'3 or 5'1? I take the DC metro to work and see petite women with phablets on a daily basis. I'm 5'2, 130 lbs and have absolutely no issues. People are being way too overdramatic.

I completely agree. I don't know why people here keep mentioning their height and weight. Seriously, stop, it's completely irrelevant.

You are not alone there, this is my 6+ in my hand, I find it quite comfortable to use and you hit the nail on the head, no one phone is going to be exactly right for everyone.
Remember when Apple brought out the 4" display on the iPhone 5 and made a marketing ploy around the whole, we designed this perfectly for the hand, you can reach from one corner of the screen to the other and so on. Well, yeah, at the time true for all but the most teeny tiny of hands I guess, but I can do that comfortably with the 6+ as well. So it's the right phone for me, my missus on the other hand hates it, she has tiny hands and prefers the normal 6. She wouldn't be seen dead with a 6+.

I suppose that might be why Apple decided to make two different sizes of phone, we're not all the same. Thankfully :D
