It's a lot easier to get addicted to a "one-handed" phone than a larger 5.5" phablet.
Because people didnt use tablets in any great quantities before phablets became popular.

I went with the 6 because I commute by train and need to be able to use the phone one-handed.
I love the design of the 6+ the only thing I might change at all would be the bands if it didnt negatively effect my reception. Even those looked 100% better in person. I dont mind the bezels at all quite frankly. I like the symmetry and simplicity and order of the way the 6 plus was designed. Arm chair designers should take a step back. Apple wasnt trying to make a different phone. They were aiming for the same phone thats a different size.My point is that the Moto X is MORE manageable at the same size. My point is that the iPhone 6 didn't need to be as big as it is. My point is that you could have a phone only marginally larger than the 5s with a 4.7" screen. Derp.
Do you drive the train?
Do whats right for you and dont worry what others think. You know your needs best.Starting to wish I had the 6 purely for the size and practicality of it. It really is the sweet spot for me. The features on the Plus are incredible. But after using the plus for a day, I'm not too sure I'll be able to get used to it! I love using my phone one handed and I can more or less use the Plus one handed but it's not comfortable. Landscape on it is great as well.
If I got this on a 2 year contract with AT&T, how difficult would it be to swap it with a 6? I'd imagine it would be at least a week until I could...what should I do if I wanted to?

Funny. I thought your post was pretty dumb myself. Underdeveloped men? Really?
It's not too big I just think the proportions are off. The Note 3 has perfect length relative to height. 6+ is too tall & thin for me.
The plus is .22 inches longer than the Note 3 from top to bottom.
As almost every "professional" review has stated, initially the iPhone 6 Plus felt enormous, but after normal, everyday usage for about a week, almost every reviewer that I read said that they found themselves getting used to and preferring the 6 Plus.
I don't commute by car, or bicycle. I commute by train.Do you drive the train?

Sorry, I've been here way too long (and came from a place where no one used public transportation) ... Is "commute by train" a weird thing to say?
I got a 6+ and I think that it is perfect. My wife got a 6 and she thinks that the 6 is perfect. She thinks that the 6+ is way too big. She is 5'5". I am 6'2".
Smaller people will think that the 6+ is uncomfortable and too big. Larger people will think that the 6+ is great,
No. Just wondering why you need a free hand on the train if you aren't driving it. ;/)

God knows what he does with his second hand on the train. But let's not speculate here - the daily commute is only a tiny fraction of the day.
Ah. One hand to hold on to the handstrap, and one hand for the iPhone. I'm on the train for more than two hours a day - one-handed phone operation is essential. Image

Very funny. But unfortunately it's not such a "tiny fraction" of my day. Today for example, I worked for an hour but spent three hours on the train. This is why I buy a new iPhone every year - it's worth it to me to have the latest and greatest since I spend so much time using the damn thing on the train!

Love my 6+, don't love my Spigen case which sets the size over-the-top. I intend to change to a skin as soon as I see a really good one released.
I don't think that tablets have a bright and sustained future.
I'd rather have a macbook air 11" than an ipad + keyboard.
Phablets, on the other hand, are the ideal convergent device because the plus seems big enough to do some work on and small enough not to be horribly inconvenient....
FWIW, I have owned every model of iPhone and about 9 different Android phones of different makes and models and I can say with no reservation that the iPhone 6 Plus is the by far the best phone that I have owned! Now, it won't be the perfect device for everyone, and actually nothing is perfect, but it is exactly what I have been looking for. I used to carry an iPhone 5S and an iPad Mini Retina, but I am now able to replace both devices with this new iPhone. Apple has finally released the device that I have been waiting for!
Not really - most reviews rate the 6 higher than the 6 Plus because the latter is quite uncomfortable to hold and somewhat bothersome to use by most people. I wanted the 6 Plus but they sold out too fast, so now I have the 6 - and boy I'm glad it turned out that way. I'm not trying to justify my purchase - I still have a Plus pre-ordered, but I'll cancel that today after having played with one at the Apple Store. I'm also not someone who moved up from a tiny phone. My previous phone was the Nexus 5 and I also had a Lumia 1520. I never found the 1520 too big, but that was primarily because I never used it as my daily driver, but rather as a tablet-replacement for home.
So I'm officially joining the fraction here that thinks lots and lots of people ordered the Plus because its specs are slightly better but without ever having handled such a gigantic "phone" and now thinking about returning it for a 6.
I agree to some extent. However, the 6+ frees me from the need to have my tablet out or have it go with me everywhere. It doesnt completely irradicate my need for it.Disagree. I think tablets are going to continue to canibalize laptops. Most people don't ever need a laptop anymore. Ever since I bought my iPad Air, I never use my Mac mini, or my wife's laptop. Most people just need a relatively decent sized screen to email, browse, video, etc...
Having said this, I was hoping that I would be able to rely more on my iPhone 6 Plus and less on my iPad Air, but after having used it for 2 days I realize this isn't going to be the case. I still prefer my iPad Air for web browsing. 6+ screen is huge, bought not nearly as expansive as the Air's.
It's posts like these that make me second guess my decision to go with the regular iPhone 6. Got it on backorder. I also already have an iPad Mini Retina. Like you, maybe I'll have to entertain the idea of replacing both with a 6 Plus. Yes. HMMM. No. Maybe. I don't know. BAH!!! All the youtube unboxing and review videos in the world cannot help me decide between the two. AHHHH!!!

I don't know but after coming from android where the huge screens don't come with Giant bezels, I think I'm going to exchange for a 6. I feel like with a case on, it looks like one of the old huge Motorola droids.
I'm keeping a 6 and a xperia z3 to change back and forth![]()
Hard to believe anyone that says the 6+ is easy to use one handed. We know that isnt true.
Maybe Apple believes that the bezels help while holding the phone in landscape mode, so your thumbs don't cover the screen? Plus, trying to keep it looking like an iPhone. That's my guess.
