I hope that this is the prototype to the iPhone 5 showing the 64GB.

Not because we finally get the option for 64GB storage but the fact that the iPhone does NOT have a bigger screen.

I want the big update to the iPhone to be the 6th generation to include the bigger screen.

Let iPhone 5 be the 3G to 3GS type update and have all the iPhone 4 users who are under the 2 year contract wait for the BIG update which would be the 6th generation iPhone.

New redesign, bigger screen, highly improved camera/sensor, 12 hrs battery life, thinner than the iPhone 4/iPhone 5 (obviously), removal of the home button or arranged as a side button to make room for the big screen.

It will be the BIG one.

Apple knows that many are happy with the iPhone 4 and will stick with the 2 year contract before buying another iPhone, thats why the big update is going to be for the 6th generation.

And thats what I hope for.

Thanks that is exactly what am I saying. iPhone 4S FTW

Definitely an ip4 based on build week.

64 GB NAND is likely. 128 simply isn't possible yet.

Idk. The iPad didn't get any bumps.

I thought this was common sense?

They usually up the space of the iPod Touch before the iPhone. The iPod Touch is the "testing" platform for the iPhone.

Either way, I believe the iPhone 4 was going to have it, until they did a complete redesign, thats why I believe they never bothered the space upgrade. Then they came out with the iPod Touch 4G and never did a space upgrade but did a design overhaul / added cameras, a4 processor and better battery.

So, its on the right time to finally up the space to 64gbs with the new iPhone and then watch the iPod Touch get a space upgrade this year. Its worked like this since the first iphone. It stopped/changed at the iPhone 4 because of the drastic changes.

Either way im on a Launch iPhone 3GS 32gb and WOULD LOVE a iPhone 5 with 64gbs.

I was thinking of that place that sells stinky tofu with duck blood and a side of chicken feet (with claws of course). You know the place, it's between Family Mart and 7-11. Not many places like that in TW, is there?

Hahah ewww. Not my style, I'll take exotic meats any day but not always exotic parts.

After Apple skipping out on the 64GB model last year, the addition this year seems a given. I'm starting to grow tired of managing my storage space all of the time. I can hardly record any video without the thing throwing a fit about low disk space.

Part of my problem is that I'm an app hoarder/addict.

My primary concern going forward is that iPhone 5 will likely see 1080p video and an 8mp camera, further eating up disk space. I'd prefer 128GB, but I don't think that is possible.

I totally agree, just out of curiosity how many apps do you have? Since I've been having to cut back on space, I slowed down and only have 506.

iPhone 4 S?

What it's looking like to me. Not that it bothers me, I'll be looking forwards to the iPhone 5!

As others have pointed out, the iPhone only has room for one NAND flash memory component; the iPod has room for two.

They couldn't up the iPhone 4 to 64 GB because those chips weren't cost effective at the time. Now, they certainly are. I'll guarantee right now that the next iPhone will have a 64 GB premium option.

Same here - same as 3G:

16Gig iPhone 4 - $99

iPhone 4GS with A5:
32Gig iPhone 4GS - $199
64Gig iPhone 4GS - $299

iPhone 5 with larger screen and entire aluminum back will be in 2012....

But since Android is #1 now - would be interesting if Apple decides to go this route, rather than go after Android (which I don't think they feel like doing anyways).

a phone does not need 64GB. This is overkill. People are too focused on storage space etc. Focus more on what the phone can and cannot do.

Um what it CAN'T do without that much space is record a reasonable amount of HD video.

Also what are you talking about Android is #1?

Am I the only one who has downgraded in terms of capacity? Last June I went from a 32GB 3GS to a 16GB iPhone 4. Mostly because I listen to music from my iPod, and keep all of my videos on my iPad now.

No way I would need 64GB, but it would be cool to at least see it available.

Yeah correct me if I'm wrong but that's not including iPods or iPads, just phones. Not to mention there's no consistency between android devices and that doesn't mean it's better or apple will want to go after them. All android is is just a copy of iOS years later where they then pointed out one or two things iOS can't do (play flash) so that when you make a small list of what the phone's can do the processors might be "faster" or it might use "flash" but none of those checklists takes in to account ease of use or sheer volume and quality of apps - apple creates, other people catch up, periodically might then have a slightly better interface, then apple creates again and changes the market and leaves everyone behind to copy and then try to out market them with a few competitors floating in a sea of useless shoddy devices that just put quantity on the board. That's always been the pattern and it's going to be for the foreseeable future.

About time someone else had an understanding on Apple is Apple and they most likely aren't going to re-design the iPhone entirely again. They most likely are still taking a look at how the market is going with the mobile arena and designing a huge update in 2012. Then again Apple could be Apple and surprise the crap out of everyone. But there doesn't seem to be too much leaning towards the iPhone upgrade other than some hardware changes. Maybe a liquid metal back but still that phone will probably be a sandwich and be the iPhone 4S or something along those lines. The real iPhone 5 will be a big treat I can guarantee.

Plus Apple likes competition but they don't go out of their way because another competitor in the market has a product that is doing very well with consumers vs their iProduct. There have been tablet PC's, touchscreen PC's (Apple has yet to incorporate this feature), all kinds of gizmos for years and Apple develops their products based on what they think will perform to their standards. They have had fails in the past but they don't play cat & mouse games with other companies. They build their products to perform and look good and unique not go along with everything else. They strive to be a step on top, enough said.

Definitely fake

Theory:

Someone hacked the iPhone 4 to manipulate text on the screen...

Fake

They either did that or somehow it's an image. The amount of space that the OS takes up is wrong. On a 32GB iPhone you start with 29.1GB. Why would it be showing 59.1GB as the capacity for a 64GB iPhone with the same build of the OS? Shouldn't it be a start of 61.1GB?
