It cant be an iOS or indexing error otherwise my 6 Plus would be showing the problem.
Process of elimination points to a feature on the new 6s & 6s Plus that clearly is at odds with the current iOS.
It will be interesting to see how long if any Apple deem it enough to look into.

So much this!

Something with iOS 9 and 6S/Plus devices are not playing well.

It's the regular 6s too, there is a couple people who posted that both phones are doing it. all the more reason I'm going with the touch sensor part of the software being the issue. I guess we shall see!

Sorry reading comprehension on my part! you said both!

You mean the 6/6Plus and 6S/Plus are all doing it?

The 6S & 6S plus are doing it only, based on the threads.

by the way, the unlocking lag isn't narrowed to touch ID. I do not have any passcode and touch ID enabled and the unlock lag is there on 9.0.1.

Its just some sheety bug! irritating!

Fair enough, I havent been able to duplicate with touch ID turned off but I will take your word for it!

i can't seem to reproduce this bug in the demo units in stores as the phones are always constantly being touched by customers...gotta let it idle for 10 mins before you can catch hold of the bug. and even so its like 50% chance

Ya know when i found out about this unlock lag?

1. When my friend texted me and i did a slide to reply from the lockscreen, there was this considerable delay

2. When i unlocked my phone at night and wondered why the animation 'got cut short'. was like some stutter lag without animation and BAM its at the homescreen suddenly

Yeah it will be hard to do in the stores for the next couple of weeks im sure. plus arent they running a modified demo OS? If i'm wrong i am sorry just thought they had an OS loaded that is slightly different for showing off certain aspects of the phone

yeah u got a point, its a modified demo OS with screen saver features..

It was easy to reproduce the 6 plus lag because it was clearly hardware. Not sure the demo OS should matter but it's yet another variable and when its software another variable makes it that much harder to reproduce

if the 9.1 beta really fixes this issue....good for us than...but......

why are we resorting to beta software anyways....having this uneasy feeling...

reason being we're feddup of this unlocking lag yeah...

So I am noticing a few things on my new 6S Plus.

If I am on the lock screen and unlock, sometimes it acts like it didn't take and sits there for a second and boom, it then unlocks. Also noticed that sometimes when I unlock, the screen is frozen for a second after unlock and the bar with the info at the top is missing then comes back after it unfreezes.

I am assuming this is a software issue right now and hopefully it will get worked out. It's very weird.

I restored from a backup, from iTunes.

Just found this thread. I'm having the exact same issue on my 6s. Mainly happens when I unlock my phone with the home button using Touch ID. Hoping it's a software issue as well.

well chill for now and don't go around erasing your phone...let us do more experiments and monitoring.

may wanna report this bug to apple and pressure them to issue an update soon

The only thing that we can be sure of is that hasanahmad doesn't know what he is talking about.

I am just pointing out the illiterate mess of folks who think this is a hardware issue and somehow something which is 2-3 seconds after login means their phone is unusable forever

The fact that it's fixed for most people having the seconds delay means it was indexing for them

So we are the "illiterate mess of folks" while you still spout misinformation?

It is NOT fixed for most people. That is a lie, a fabrication, something you made up out of thin air.

The number of people reporting has gone down considerably , the number of people whose issues went away went up , we have the same people participating , hardly any increase in people

I had this problem when I got my new phone yesterday

I did a restore to 9.0.1 as new in iTunes/computer
And now is all smooth
