Set mine up as a resort frm a backup and have had none of these issues... Wow can't believe some of the after reading some of tHe
posts here..

I'm having the exact same problem, and I have a theory on why it's happening.

Apple has always been aggressive in shutting down unnecessary hardware and software services when our phones are in screen off/sleep mode. Because the new Touch ID is so fast, the phone is unlocked and at the home screen faster than these hardware and software services can all turn back on.

I think this will get fixed quickly, but I also hope Apple adds an option to have a Touch ID delay of my choosing, just for the lock screen. As of now, it's impossible to use the double click home to Apple wallet feature. Really surprised Apple has a feature that is basically impossible to use. Very un-apple like, in my experience.
Yeah u need to use an unregistered finger to launch the wallet and a registered one to pay :) it is easier to use the watch anyway.

Not really an issue if the lag is a unlocking animation and not everywhere. For 99% is indexing nothing more nothing less

The lag isn't present in the unlocking animation. The devices unlock just fine, it's not being able to use the device for a considerable amount of time afterward due to a system delay.

There seems to be a delay in the status bar appearing which prevents me from doing anything till it appears.

Define considerable amount ?

The lag on my 6 was bothersome after upgrading to iOS 9. After 2-3 days it's much better.

128GB 6s Plus, got the phone activate around 6pm, used most of the night having it as a new phone with out Having any on my stuff on it. Didn't set up from my back up until this morning. Experienced major freezing and lag from the phone from the beginning. Hoping Apple fixes this iOS 9 issue soon, no fun having an awesome phone that just gets stuck all the time.

Side note: my sister got a 6s and I set it up for her and it too is experiencing some major freezing and lag too, not as much as mine but it is happening.

Is anybody having issues with battery draining shortly after unplugging the phones?

Here are some
Facts

1. For majority the phone is lagging right at or after unlocking for a second or so
2. The lag fixed itself for some users over time
3. Some users never had a lag
4. Some users lag was fixed with a reset of the device

Common sense: if it was an iPhone 6s issue the lag would NEVER disappear. Thus the only common sense conclusion is likely an indexing issue or and issue with iOS setup

How can people not put 1+1 together than if it was a hardware issue it would be permenant and a software issue is always temporary

Having the same exact issue on my 6S Plus that I just bought a few hours ago.

Didn't restore but instead set up as new. If I unlock via Touch ID I get to the home screen but it's unresponsive for 1-3 seconds and then registers my touch.

This is definitely a iOS 9 issue, I hope Apple gets their **** together. It's like they have no QA team to handle this ****!

Maybe if users reported this in the iOS 9 forum mr would put this story but because of people incorrectly assuming it's a hardware issue they won't care because theirs is running fine

Where specifically 2 minutes after unlocking is it lagging ?
as soon as you unlock the phone, but it only seems to happen if you haven't used the phone in a while. Which leads me to believe that Touch ID is unlocking the phone so fast the phone has to catch up.

So it's a software issue not a hardware issue if it's at one point and it comes and goes. Hardware issues don't come and go they remain. This is an iOS 9 indexing and / or animation bug not a 6s issue

Read the thread man. We unlock the phone with Touch ID. The lock screen animation does its thing then the home screen is frozen and unresponsive as well as there being no bar at the top. This hangs like this for anywhere between 2 to 10 seconds for some people. I have been done with my restore for 24 hours now and still have the issue and that's with a restore as new. Not much to index there! Also, if this is an indexing issue then why isn't it happening on my newly restored 6+ with 9.0.1? I'm personally convinced this relates to the Touch ID sensor and the new OS since disabling Touch ID doesn't recreate the problem

This theory makes the most sense to me at this point.

This reminds me of the Mission Control lag issues I experienced in Yosemite. The first few times I activated Mission Control I'd get a very low frame rate until performance kind of leveled out.

2.5-3 seconds is quite a bit of time to wait to be able to use the phone.

Maybe the Touch ID is so fast the OS gets confused "this isn't how fast it should work"

Yes I'm sure it's a bit more technical than that lol but I am thinking there is a link between the new sensor and iOS 9 for sure. Do I believe it can be fixed? Absolutely
