Gotten so much worse during the day making it almost unusable. Would be unresponsive to touches and swipes over half the time and the stuttering just amplified today. Launched activity monitor in Xcode and shows both the "Bird" and "suggestd" processes eating up CPU. Disabled both icloud drive and siri suggestions and seems to have calmed down for now. Won't say "FIXED IT!!" yet since who knows what else can bork it up. Doing a full restore (downloading full firmware through iTunes) in a bit to see if that works.

Can anyone confirm if turning off Siri Suggestions AND iCloud Drive fix the issue for them too?

I seemed to have fixed mine with a fresh restore of iOS 9.0.1. From what people are talking about, it almost sounds like a pool of zombie threads just spreading over and over, overcoming the CPU.

Everybody should go thru iTunes and start with a fresh install. Learned the hardway.
Been smooth all day. No more 2-3 second delays. Was ready to take the phone back today and stick with my 6+ for another year but have decided to wait a week and see how it goes. Runs as fast and smooth as my 6+ I don't know if that is good or bad.

Oh and make sure it's new phone not backed up from iTunes or iCloud when you start.

Had the same issue with my 6 plus, and 6s plus.

My wife's 6 doesn't seem to do it. And my 6s doesn't seem to do it.

I remember having a LOT of issues with my 6 plus that my 6 never had. That's why I'm sticking with my 6s. Too many bugs with the plus models.

Seems i won't need to restore after all (for now). Turning off Siri suggestions and iCloud drive, waiting a bit and reenabling ID first, then Siri Suggestions, seems to have corrected the issue. Monitoring in Xcode shows the two processes are now behaving normally. And now Siri Suggestions also displays location info which was missing before.

Can anyone do the same two steps and confirm if it works for them too?

Anyone have a tutorial on how to do this if my phone is already on 9.01? Sorry for the stupidity but I'm somewhat new to apple and just want to make sure I do it the proper way.

My 6s plus is extremely buggy as well. So many bugs that it is very frustrating using it as previous 6 plus.
Could you give me a little direction on how to properly do this thought iTunes ?
This is what I am thinking as I have never done a fresh install through iTunes before.
1) Back up all content from phone onto iTunes 2) delete all contents from phone
3) fresh install of iOS through iTunes
4) download all content from previous back up

Is this correct ?

I just erased everything off iPhone. Settings general reset select erase settings. Phone will be new again and hook it up thru iTunes. 9.0.1 will remain on your phone automatically

How about photos, videos, text messages and notes ? How do you get them back
Into the phone without downloading from back-up ?

Don't have the 6S+ but I upgraded the 6+ to ios 9. Very smooth and responsive. I would say its just as smooth as the 6S. So much so that I might return the 6S and rock with the 6+. Did not expect the 6+ to run this good on iOS9 from all the topics I read.

Photos video notes are in my iCloud. I've only brought back notes thru iCloud. Haven't downloaded pictures and video yet. Waiting to see how phone will perform rest of day. But I will use iCloud to bring them back pictures and video on to phone when I'm ready.
Messages I think you permanently lose them

I hear you. My 6+ is running great with ios9.
Smooth and no hickups. Compared with ios8 big difference.
Bought 6s+ just to compare and personally I see no difference now. 6s+ gave me fits day one. But after a clean install it's smooth.

Same freezing issues, etc exist on the latest 9.1 Developer Beta that was released last week. I always restore my backups after flashing as I have years worth of data that I need access to. My phone actually powered off once for no apparent reason and would not power back on (seen this same issue on past phones). I think once I connected the charger I was eventually able to get it to power back on after much effort. Battery was not low when this happened. Likely they will be releasing a Developer beta this week (I hope) to address the various major issues and a public update will follow very soon.

Just plug your phone in. Click on the iPhone tab that pops up in iTunes and the "restore iPhone" button should be under the the iOS 9.01 section.

after that you can restore your backup through iTunes

The only lags i have are when i turn the display on and after entering the code. Sometimes it takes 1-2 seconds before the phone recognizes my input and after the code it takes 1-3 seconds before i see the home screen. But that happens only 1 or 2 times a day and not during normal use of apps.

Not sure what changed but I'm no longer experiencing a lag/delay after unlocking my 6S Plus... So maybe it was indexing?
