Thought I noticed some stuttering when I first restored my 6s+ from backup but it seems to have gone away, or at least I don't notice anything anymore. I thought maybe it was because I was doing so many background app downloading etc. But if there's still lag, it's not noticeable enough to bug me.

safari reloads maybe 80% less than before. I expected it to stop reloading altogether but maybe that was unrealistic.

Yes running 9.0.1. Will be installing apps and pictures today and see what happens. But so far so good. No more 2 second delays from Touch ID to pressing message app. Even double tapping the home button to bring screen half way down was like a second delay now it's quick coming down after erasing everything.

Is anyone seeing a slight delay in pushing the home button to the screen lighting up? Or is the issue being discussed here something entirely different?

I am a heavy multitasker. Well the reloads will still happen if you open tons of apps and don't close them.

Just that with 2GB of RAM, the device will do it less often. Anyways the 1.85Ghz A9 is so zippy, even reloads of programs are a jiff

issue discussed here is when from the moment when we <use touch ID / passcode / swipe to unlock> the phone kinda stammers and lags for 1-5 seconds, before the OS becomes responsive

Same here very slight very slight delay sometimes when phone has been sitting screen off. I've also compared it to my regular 6+ it does the same.

More likely it has to do with iOS 9 than anything else.

A user in the JB forums just went back to using his iPhone 6 because his new 6s is in an unbootable state after restoring iOS 9.

Apple replaced my iPhone 6+ last Sunday for the price of a screen repair because restoring to iOS 9 caused a bootloop. The Apple genius told me that Apple is having a lot of issues with iOS 9 and restores right now.

I don't think iOS 9 was really ready yet.
Well I'm glad that I updated to IOS 9.0.1 right away before doing anything

The 6S+ reloads much less readily than the Note 5 and 6S Edge Plus which both have 4GB of RAM. However, the Nexus 6 is still the King of keeping things in memory. I'm pleased with the 6S+ though, it does the job and that's a heck of a lot more than can be said for the 6+.

yo do update us how it goes.

Well that is weird. Mine just seems the home button isn't all that responsive. I press it and the screen delays lighting up for a bit. Probably only a second but it's still enough to not trigger my fingerprint scanner so I have to hold my finger down just as long as, if not longer than, the iPhone 6 Plus.

I had/have this issue sometimes. The screen doesn't light up when I press the home button. I have to do it again or use the power button. Seems to be related to the lag as well.

I noticed that music would stutter for half a second every time I launch or exit the camera app. is it normal or a bug in iOS 9.1 beta 2?

also I've got several freezes when using the iPhone...not sure if it's the iOS9.1 beta or the phone...

Today and yesterday, I did not notice any further lag. I made no changes other than powering off my phone and after that, a hard reset. The other thing I did do was turn rotation lock on and left it on for most of the day yesterday. I turned it off last night.

I am going to keep an eye on things but as of right now, I don't have any issues.

I'm really surprised with this new phone and apple how many issues are going around.

i will thru out the day
I've been putting back my apps 1 by 1 to see if the phone is still running smooth after resetting and erasing everything and so far no problems. Compared to yesterday it was terrible very slow responses on every app. Especially message app and Touch ID. Took 2 seconds to open.
Will be downloading my pictures and videos later. Running 9.0.1
Feel like a guinea pig for Apple. Oh well.
But I do see a lot of complaints about these new phones.

I noticed it went away on mine after installing the new software and restarting. I'll still be keeping an eye out for it but it's yet to happen again...

I have this problem on both my iPhone 6S and 6S Plus and I've traced it WiFi; if I turn off the WiFi, the freezing and lag stops. But if I turn on WiFi again, it freezes up as soon it connects. Sooo, I tried the "Reset Network Options" option and that fixed it but than I had the same problem again the next day.

FWIW, I've been experiencing exactly the same issue. I bought an iPhone 6S 128Gb directly from the Apple store on Friday morning.

I had decided to start from fresh new phone rather than restore from the backup of my iP6, because I had the day off and it's fun to go through it from the start once in a while.

Anyway, there's definitely a problem with lag / unresponsiveness when launching it with the TouchID Home button. I'm not sure I noticed this much before I updated (OTA) to iOS 9.0.1, but that might be just because it was one of the first things I did... Nevertheless, it has been a problem since.

I now have the phone all set up with my apps etc reinstalled from scrath manually. I'm not going through that again any time soon; life's too short.

Reading through the various posts above it seems this might be resolved with a complete restore via iTunes, so I decided to give that a go after making an encrypted backup to my PC. I kicked off the full 2GB download of iOS 9.0.1 on my PC in preparation.

However mid way through the evening, with my iP6s nowhere near my PC, the thing died. Nothing from the standby button, Home button, nothing - just a blank black screen... It wouldn't switch on with the standby button alone, but I managed to bring it back to life with a hard reset (Home + Standby for 5+ seconds). It all seems absolutely fine now, and best of all - no more lag!

So the conclusion (to me at least) is something wasn't configured quite right and this system shutdown and forced hard reset seems to have resolved matters for now. I'll hold off on the full iTunes restore for now, and give it go for another day or so to see if the lag issue reappears. Fingers crossed!

I've restored but getting this brief pauses and freezes. It looks like i need to setup as a new phone which is a PITA! Why do I have to setup as a fresh phone every time... so many threads of people saying 'yeah, it's ok, do a restore, it's totally fine'.

Is anyone else getting these issues?
