No lag here at all on my 6s+. Hasn't lagged since I got it on launch day. Love it so far. Updated it to 9.1 beta 3 today and it's still performing amazingly. Battery life is also lasting me through the day easily. I've had to TRY to kill it by the end of the day. Best phone I've ever used and I'm coming from the 6 which was nowhere near as smooth as my 6s+ is.

Same here. Zero lag from wake, in the multitasking tray, whilst scrolling, or anywhere. This thing hauls ass.

I'm not understanding all these battery life issues. My 6S+ battery life is every bit as good as my old 6+ ever was and actually beats it, presumably because my 6+ was almost a year old. There must be something amiss somewhere, either to do with a backup or settings.
It's so weird, you and I struggled for a year with weird issues on our 6Pluses and you especially got called a troll and a hater and a liar and insulted on a regular basis. It was so hard to describe or prove that our iPhones weren't acting quite right.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Our 6S Pluses are zooming along and we are trying to understand and figure out what may be happening to other people's iPhones. I've been reading about the various problems people have been having and the iOS bugs and I can't find a common thread or any one thing I can point to and say "Hey, have you checked this or tried that?"

It's like back when our 6pluses were acting up and we may as well have made Voodoo dolls to try and fix the issues we noticed. While I am happy for myself and especially for you (as you were very kind to me when I was a newbie and trying to get along with my iPhone) I do feel really bad for all the good folks on this thread and others having a hard time.

I was thinking how ironic it is myself.:D
All these Samsung trolls lol.

This is weird but when I disabled Siri, all my freezing stopped....
That is so odd. You shouldn't have to resort to that. I've been reading about your IPhone and I think you've been very tolerant. I'm usually the first to look o_O bug eyed at people being OCD about problems they have to work hard to find. You're not doing that. I hope you can get this resolved. I would honestly have lost faith and patience by now and sought a refund or exchange.

I held onto a phone that was a bit "weird" this past year, hoping eventually I'd troubleshoot all the problems away. I've resolved never to do that again. Especially not now that I remember what it's like to have a nice phone in excellent working order again. My iPhone 6S Plus is not perfect. It's got the faint backlight shadowy thing across the top. But it's not a usability or even cosmetic issue to me. You on the other hand have a phone not giving you the functionality you paid for.

Swapped the phone for a new one. After a few restores (including a full firmware restore), the problem only got worse and the phone getting slower as if the CPU was dying. Geekbench scores and clock speeds continued to drop. This'll confirm for me once and for all if the problem was hardware or software.

Yeah, I've got an appointment at Apple in an hour. I'm going to see if they can do a diagnostic on it, I really don't want to return it if it just needs another simple OS reload. I feel that if I return it, who knows what else I might get. It's the first batch. It's definitely still got the freeze. I can replicate it at unlock now. =(

I was trying everything...

Good luck and keep trying until you get a phone worthy of what these things cost us! You may get a really nice phone that works great.

You need to install the OS and set up the phone as NEW.

Most people don't know that taking to the Apple Store, they will ask you set of questions.

1) Did you restore your backup or set it up as a new phone?
2) If you restored it from a backup, they will tell you that there might've been some old corruption from the older phone you have had that carried over. There's a 50/50 debates on this issue itself. Some say there's no way to carry over corrupted files, and some say you cant.

(I've worked for Apple for 2 years in the past as a tech and corporate level, I can definitely tell you, you CAN carry it over to your new device. Regardless what people are saying, restoring actually isn't the best way for new phones believe it or not.)

3) They will advise you to set up your new phone as a NEW phone without any backups. You have the option to do it in the store or do it at home.

I recommend everyone setting up your new phones as NEW. Don't restore from backup via iCloud or iTunes. We can always debate back and forth about corruption coming back and forth, but I've been doing this ever since the first iPhone came out. I don't want to debate anyone here haha, all I want is to help and assist people. So if you're having issues, do the following:

1) SET UP YOUR PHONE AS NEW (NOT BACKUP)
2) TEST OUT THE LAG AND ISSUES YOU ONCE HAD
3) IF IT CONTINUES, THEN GO BACK TO APPLE AND LET THEM KNOW YOU DID A SET UP AS NEW

I tested this myself on my new iPhone 6s Plus just to see if there was issues, and lo and behold, there were issues from the backup. I set it up as new and everything works as designed flawlessly.

I set mine up as a new phone and it is randomly unresponsive for a few seconds after unlocking. It doesn't do it very often but enough to be annoying.

I don't get lag. The only issue I have is my phone going into a black screen where no action wakes up the phone and I cant receive any phone calls. Even plugging in the phone to the charger doesn't work. Only way to get the phone to work again is to do a hard reset

interesting, I've been seeing of these issues rise up. I can't duplicate it myself, check in with Apple Store genius bar? Good luck!

you may want to reset your phone as new..

not much lag here as it just completely halts to a freeze, then picks up after a few seconds, but repeatedly. memory is almost always full even after rebooting. several apps have been crashing. keyboard has been freezing. searching in the Settings menu just goes to a white screen. idk how many times I have to keep doing a factory reset. same issue on both 6s+s. 5s has been okay. just not as quick of course, but no annoying freezes or glitches.

I have this issue on my 128GB 6S+ and it's really annoying. I'm even on 9.0.2 and it still hasn't gone away. My wife has a 128GB 6S+ that she got today with no issues. Kind of frustrating with a brand new phone.

Just got back from the Apple store but the unit they offered me had a dead pixel and they had no other. So I'm still with my device. I had them reinstall the OS. Mine is doing this. Like when I unlock it and try to use the camera, it's a good 3-5 second delay. About 2 second delay when switching home screens. I'm gonna just deal until they get some more of what they call service units.

Maybe I should wait until they have referbs as their replacement units. Apple does another QC check and fixes anything wrong. I've had great luck with those units. =)

as a work-around for now, or in general, getting to the camera from the lock screen is rather quick.

I just have to remember to use a non touch ID finger or it'll open to the first home screen..

Ahh, I'm a little frustrated and have considered returning the device. However, if I can just hold out a month.. Apple has great standards for their refurbs.

haha.. ikr. I still use my Touch ID thumb, but move my thumb up higher to were the bony part is to wake the screen.

9.0.2 seems to have caused a lag in unlocking the screen using Touch ID.

Before the screen lights up and unlocks almost instantly when I press Touch ID.

After 9.0.2, the screen only lights up after 1 or 2 seconds.

My major lag and delays turned off completely when I disabled the "Siri Suggestions". I updated to 9.0.2 and turned it bak on...back to lag. =(

My 6S plus 68GB froze badly this morning. It was barely useable. The wifi sign would flick between wifi and mobile data. I thought turning the mobile data and wifi assist off would work but it still kept flickering. The phone was really stuck and would take ages to respond. I reset my network settings as I use WeBlock and it seems to be fine ever since.
