I'm not understanding all these battery life issues. My 6S+ battery life is every bit as good as my old 6+ ever was and actually beats it, presumably because my 6+ was almost a year old. There must be something amiss somewhere, either to do with a backup or settings.

My phone's battery was dropping FAST on the first 2 days and I was getting the lock screen lock up. But since then battery life has stabilized; getting easily 2-3 hours of use on the first 10% of battery and the lock ups have stopped.

Could it have been indexing?

Not sure I buy into all that indexing stuff. My 6S+ has had brilliant battery straight out of the box. Sure it drained heavily whilst my huge iCloud backup was installing but after that it has been plain sailing from the very first full charge.

Do you have Samsung or TSMC A9?

I haven't been foloowing this thread, but yesterday (Wednesday) my 6s+ was freezing for long periods of time, I couldn't swipe safari away very quickly or anything else I wanted to stop. Apps were slow to open, if at all. I don't know what it was, but late last night and this morning I'm back to normal again. It was very strange.

I've had battery dropping too quickly for me as well. I'll see how it goes today with the battery issue.

I'm wondering about that indexing stuff. My device seems to be acting fine today. No freezing upon unlock, battery seems better, and it's not getting hot when I am using applications...

It's weird, it's like it needed a settling in period? It was running really bad yesterday after the Apple store reinstalled the OS.

Now this morning, my first unlock was smooth. No issues. Hmm.

i think people just need to stop messing with the phone and give it some time to sync with icloud. all these new phones probably putting a strain on apple servers and stuff is hanging a bit in the background. give it a day or so and the issues should clear itself up on it own.

The status bar still disappears for 1-2 seconds after unlocking the phone under iOS 9.0.2 & iOS 9.1 beta 3. Not sure what is going on with my phone. I have done everything possible.

same thing was happening on my ipad air2, this is probably an IOS 9 bug

Lag, hitches, and lockups have stopped on mine.

It's been about two days since it stopped and the phone is running very, very well.

One of the only glitches left is screen orientation when unlocking from sleep.

Yeah, that really seems to be the case with mine. It's functioning perfectly now as opposed to yesterday. I'm just gonna enjoy the phone and stop worrying about it.

If it has issues in the future, I'll look into it again then. I'm betting it'll only occur if I'm updating the OS... That seems to be the pattern. Settling in takes about 8-24 hours for me.

I'd suggest anyone with severe lag issues to swap the phone. From my testing it turned out to be a hardware fault. I did several restores to no avail. Download and test with geekbench and you'll see the cores running much slower than they should be. (See results in one of my earlier posts)

New phone is fast and zippy.

this is total nonsense.

this is total nonsense.

Explain this then. I'm not saying it's applicable to everyone but if you get this kind of result in geekbench, it's hard to dismiss a hardware fault.

This is how it is with the replacement, same setup and restored backup as the old one.

Big difference don't ya think? :) (had a similar score on 9.0.1 prior to updating)

Mind your own business. It's a real and significant issue. I've owned every gen of iPhone and I've never seen an issue this bad before. The lag and stuttering renders the phone unusable.

The only way to get this issue addressed is to speak up about it. I've already sent a bug report to Apple and I don't mind one bit if this issue explodes and is all over the web until the cause and resolution is found.

Now go back in the hole you crawled out from.
Here's an idea chief, hows about winding your neck in.. Dumy is a top poster on MR, stop being rude and give the kid a break..

you can save yourself the trouble and just set your new 6s/6s plus as NEW instead of restoring any back up. The new phones are intended to be used by setting up as new even though many people are worried about their texts, photos, etc. photos just use iCloud back up. Texts isn't too important imo. App data are usually cloud based now if you have an account with that app.

Set it up as new people. If you're still having issues after setting up as new then go to Apple Store and set up a Genius Bar appointment. They're going to ask you to set up your phone as new anyways.

Not saying those who use restore form backups are noobs or idiots. Never will I say that but I just tend to see and experience myself, every new phone I get, I set up as new and works flawlessly (besides those rare cases where you have a defective phone). Don't want to start a war of debating if restoring from back up is bad but what I will say, working for Apple previously, you'd be shocked of how many people have software related issues due from restoring from backup via iCloud/iTunes. :)

All in all, try setting up as new. Hope you all find a solution to your issues! Happy Thursday people. And sorry for the double posting!

I had zero to sync. never even used iCloud before till now since WhatsApp requires it for backing up to.

this is a weird glitch where the cursor shows in one spot, but types in a different area of the screen.

this is another weird glitch/freeze where this happens

and just now, it froze like this. wasn't even responding to any touches. i'm surprised a ss even went through - the screen didn't white out showing it captured one.

and it's not just in Tapatalk. it happens in other third-party and native apps, that Spotlight thing, and in the Search thing in phone Settings. I've noticed Blink keyboard doesn't give me any of the native keyboard issues. but it's just not as responsive. and Swiftkey is just absolutely horrible for iOS.

I only had one lockup today. I tried to unlock with the home button and nothing happened. Then I hit the wake button and nothing happened. Then suddenly the screen popped on and took a screen shot.

My new 6s is experiencing the same lag like everyone else. Apps taking long to open, home button will not quit frozen apps, and randomly Touch ID will not unlock phone. This 6s was restored from an iTunes backup of my old 6. I'll see how it performs in the next couple days before I restore again. Setting up my phone as new is a PITA!

I'm having a lag problem on unlock too (64gb 6s Plus). It actually pauses as the icons are dropping down to the screen with the zoom animation, for a second or two I have giant icons showing as it freezes when they're coming in. Then they land and all good.

Concerning thing is, this is my 2nd phone. The first had a problem with the earpiece sounding blown or something so I got a new one. I had no lag at all on the first one and I'm only noticing it on this one after restoring from backup, makes me worry that this is a hardware problem. Haven't tried setting up as new yet...

I can guarantee your backup from via iTunes is causing this issue. set it up as new.
