It's definitely Touch ID and something with how it works within ios9 on some devices. I did a recovery restore yesterday. Restored my data from a backup but didn't add Touch ID or have Siri turned on. I left it like that the entire evening a could not replicate the status bar lag upon unlocking at all. This morning I decided to try adding a finger to Touch ID and turned on Siri. And after the phone is sleep for at least 3 minutes the status bar lag is back. So hopefully it gets fixed with a complete update of th GM 9.1. I'll have to deal with the lag for the time being because it sucks imputing your password every single time to use the phone.

To be fair, i dont think it is. The time it takes to unlock the phone via touch ID compared to using a passcode or a swipe will negate the status bar lagging as you would have already used those extra seconds it takes for the status bar to appear, unlocking the phone.

Not the time it takes that's a issue. It just sucks imputing your password Vs placing a thumb or whatever you have registered to unlock. At least for me. If I didn't have a passcode maybe just slide would be fine. Who knows I may switch it back to passcode. But for me and maybe others at least I can point to a cause and if I can't deal I know a way to stop it now.

I understand mate, but what im saying is, the time it takes to input the password the status bar would have fully loaded in the time it takes.

No matter what i did i get a lag when unlock the phone with touch id in 9.0.2. Set up as new or back up whatever I tried everything still laggy. then I update to the latest beta 9.1 and it was bit laggy at the beginning but it's completely gone.

I also think this is to do with touch ID. I think it's a touch ID reading and comparing different fingerprints. Check my post #935. That totally helped me to eliminate lag.

Nintendolinky, I know what you are saying in terms of time taking to input password, and I thought exactly the same thing. I disabled touch ID and disabled password as well, so there was no time by typing password for status bar to "recover". And it was instantaneous no lag. Then I added only one fingerprint and hard reset worked! No lag whatsoever since did that. It's actually good to have one finger registered because now i can use camera in lock screen, otherwise slight touch would bring you to home screen and wouldn't allow camera on lock screen because its so fast.

I have tried that one finger touch ID tactic and it didnt work for me unfortunately. :(

though my phone has no lag issue now with beta 4. I am curious what happen if i go back to 9.0.2 at this point. I am wondering if this issue is some sort of break-in period with either touch id or mcu. I am too lazy to try this at the moment. anybody tried this?

I had similar issues with my iPhone 6 plus. I think Apple needs to put more ram in the plus models. 3gb should be enough.

Or probably will go back to lag. Being that some still have lag issues on beta 4. Myself included.
