I have to turn my screen off and then back on literally every 2-5 minutes. If this were my first apple product I would return it and never buy another product from them again. This is absolutely absurd.
Return it if you can. There is a chance to get a better one.

So then it's just a matter of downloading all apps again and reorganizing them on your home screen? Is that it?

Yes, providing all you want to get back are apps, phone number contacts, notes, email accounts, safari bookmarks and calendars.

If you wish to get your photos and SMS etc back then you would need to do a full iCloud backup. This would defeat the purpose of setting up as new. You can export all your photos first and then import them back afterwards via iTunes, or an app such as Transfer Pro.

I'm backing the phone up now and then I'll try doing a restore. If that doesn't work I guess I'll exchange it. This is so infuriating especially given how all of my old iPhones worked so well. Didn't expect a brand new top of the line phone to be such a POS.

I've had five 6S+ and three of them have lagged out of the box, or started lagging after an update/restore/settings reset. It's a software issue but I agree, totally unacceptable.

Got mine last week as well and have never had an apple product that performed so crappy. Disappointing to say the least, I was excited to get the new phone and this has replaced the excitement with frustration.

Try the original crapmeister, the 6+.

The problem I've had about 10 times today is random, intermittent times when my screen becomes non responsive. The home button and volume keys work but the screen won't accept any input until I push the power button, turn the screen off, then use Touch ID to log back in.

This is driving me nuts, is there a solution to this, or is this potentially hardware driven and I should swap at my cell carrier for a new phone?

That sounds like a different issue to the one being described in this thread. If a restore doesn't fix it, exchange the unit.

So many people 6S plus plus issues... never found these many with any other models... why so?! -_-

Millions of devices have been sold and your basing your opinion on forum users which represent a tiny minutiae of the 6S Plus owners out there. Disgruntled (deservedly or undeservedly so) forum users are not representative of the whole and shouldn't be thought of as such.

Many of us have been perfect 6S Plus models with either chipset and none of the issues outlined here. But happy customers don't go on forums, they're just using and enjoying their devices.

This is applicable regardless of device. I have a Nexus 6P - if I go over to android central or XDA I can find thread and post after post of disgruntled users experiencing issues. But again it's not reflective of a whole.

Likewise the Moto X Style, Galaxy S6 Edge and Note 5. There will always be issues whether software or hardware with devices that plague some users. But for the majority, they don't experience this.

I give up with trying to fix this issue. Think my bank are also getting annoyed as each time i need to setup apple pay, my bank sends me T&C's through the post. I must have about 10 copies of the same letter!

does that mean you have to manually download all apps manually and lose all of your notes, and other data?

That's what I did, yes.
Much of that stuff is saved in iCloud without restoring from a backup. My Notes for example are all intact.

Try setting up from your iCloud backup and let it sit overnight so iOS can index and do whatever else it needs to do in the background.

I agree, I don't see posts showing this issue. The freezing was getting worse as the day went on yesterday and after a restore and backup it's just as bad this morning. I'll try exchanging tonight.

I have both, the 6+ & 6s+ and both have exhibit the Touch ID bug, where the status bar disappears for 1-2 seconds. It's clearly a software issue.

I fine nothing wrong thus far with my 6s +, and as one of the posters stated, millions are sold and hardly anyone with no issues will post here anyway.

You can play exchange game if that makes you feel better. I replaced three time and all had lag specially 128g ones. I want to assume this is sw issue.

The lag from Touch ID is gone, my screen will literally become unresponsive in the middle of using it for no reason and won't become responsive again until I power off the screen, then use Touch ID again.

Thats different issue. I never had that. Try 9.2 beta if that fixed it otherwise i would exchange it.

I've been through three phones and I haven't seen that either. If it were me, I'd definitely make a trip to the Apple Store for that one, so long as it's easily repeatable as I'd need to show the floor staff what's happening.

I've restored but getting this brief pauses and freezes. It looks like i need to setup as a new phone which is a PITA! Why do I have to setup as a fresh phone every time... so many threads of people saying 'yeah, it's ok, do a restore, it's totally fine'.

Is anyone else getting these issues?
you must restore using iTunes or it will not be a complete Operating System Restore

I am going to Turn on Reduce Motion under Accessibility for now to avoid this lag until apple fixes it.

Yesterday, i was on the Foo Fighters concert, my iPhone lagged as usual. (Last restore a week ago, set up as new.) During the concert i recorded ~15 videos = ~30mins, and took a lot of photos. Since this moment my iPhone became completely Lag free. Weird. I will check if the lag will be back and let You know. For now, i'm finally enjoying my phone.

I'm taking it back to Verizon today as I'm still within my return/exchange period. Since it isn't predictable I had a coworker take a video when during one of the times it happened today so I can illustrate the issue.

Is it just the accepted norm that the 6s is quicker/more fluid with animations, specifically related to 3D Touch vs the plus?
