I had the same issue with my iphone 5s and Apple had me do full restore several times and then gave me a "new" phone. It had not been upgraded at that time so I ended up having the same problem. Now, here we go again! Takes forever to reboot with soft reset

The lag from Touch ID is gone, my screen will literally become unresponsive in the middle of using it for no reason and won't become responsive again until I power off the screen, then use Touch ID again.

When this issue occurs, occasionally do you notice any graphical glitches on the screen beyond just a disappearing status bar? My iPhone 6+ randomly started doing this on iOS 9.2b1 and is still occurring. It seems smacking the back of my phone will make the screen responsive again, making me think maybe this is an accelerometer glitch? idk.

Been three days with 9.3 beta now i can say that its got better that it doesnt bother me much. I hope everyone has a luck with this. Hope final 9.2 fix this issue completely

Samsung here with zero lag. I did have lag but I fixed it. Two ways to do it, either restore through iTunes, or the easiest way is to do an iCloud backup, erase all contents & settings (ie wipe your phone), then restore the backup you just made.

Done that a couple of times and lag came back after a week or so. Going to get my 2nd phone swapped out today.

Oops.. just posted a thread in this forum but see that there already is a thread for freezing iPhones..

Take a look at this:

New out of the box. Tried everything, even DFU full restore... This is a serious problem.. Hope when I get my replacement it'll work OK. Just my bad luck getting a faulty one in the first place?

It's not hardware. Don't get the replacements. My had lag, and after a restore and taking a lot of photos and videos (after a week from restore) the lag disappeared, and did't come back (over a week now)

My 'old' iPhone 5 worked fine with 9.1, fresh DFU, never had a lock-up whatsoever. I think it *is* a hardware problem. Maybe in combination with software. I could get it to crash using safari en scrolling a lot. Why would taking lot of photos and videos solve this problem...... It should work out of the box. If it's not it's a faulty product.

Silver 6S Plus 128GB and iOS 9.1 here, and having the same problems - menu bar (up top) slow to appear, apps don't react until the menu bar appears.

Tonight I turned on "Reduce Motion" in Settings, under General, Accessibility, and this seems to have fixed it. Only time will tell, I guess, but I can now wake up my phone with Touch ID, and it works straight away. Hope this helps some of you.

Glad to hear it. My lagging and freezing just went away. It's been a week or so without it. I didn't have the Reduce Motion on when the lag disappeared. But I've since turned it on anyway. I like it better. I hate waiting for animations. When I used Android I also sped up animations in the Developer Options. Since we don't have this in iOS, reduce motion will have to do. It delivery makes interacting with the phone a bit faster for sure.

Man, I'm contemplating getting a 6S plus because of the larger memory supposedly helping the lag issues of my current 6 Plus but if people are still having these type of issues (not sure if they're worse than the normal lag of the 6 Plus) then should I even bother ?:oops:

Millions of us are happily using 6S Plus devices with NO issues or lag. Remember, forums give a very one sided and disproportionate impression of things. Those with perfectly working devices are not scouring forums or posting about how things are absolutely fine.

I would say it's a totally different type of lag. Mine can be easily neglected.
The 6 Plus has a very annoying lag that's persistent while closing/opening new tabs in Safari, let alone the constant page reload.
I'm on 9.2 beta 3 now and it's almost gone. It's like a one second delay on the status bar when I unlock the phone after it's been idle for a while. However, that delay doesn't prevent me from using the phone.
I believe it's a software issue as I have seen various degrees of it on different iOS builds, as well as different outcomes of setting up as a new device or restoring from backup.

On my 5, once I unlock the device, 90% of the time, I would have to wait a few seconds before I could do anything. Apps wouldnt open, I couldnt swipe left/right or up/down, and when I double clicked the home button, siri would open then close immediately. I never had these issues before upgrading to 9, as well as going through the 9.x.x updates. I am getting my 6s Plus tomorrow from Apple. It is the SIM free model, so I will see if I get these problems with the new phone as well. This really is the first time I have ever had an Apple product behave the way my 5 is. iOS 9 really has been a crappy experience for me.

So from what I understand, I might have better luck setting up my phone as a new device, rather than from a backup?

As MRU stated, Most are not having issues, but on any forum its usually one sided, and not millions. I am having NO issues at all with my iPhone 6s+

You're so right! I also complain but for example, my iPhone 5, my MBP 2011, have been working excellent for a couple of years... That's probably why my expectations where high. Tomorrow I will get my replacement and all will probably be fine. But I do wanted to share my experience with other people so that they can compare a possible problem they could have with their device.

Everyone... Please do not panic or keep yourself from buying a 6s plus. It's an awesome phone. I've had that lag issue on 3 phones but massaged it out with iTunes restores. Now there's no freezing and I've got nice smooth operation.

I was pretty frustrated at the time, but now that it's resolved, it's in the past.

The odds are you'll get a perfectly functioning unit.
