Beta 3! Fingers crossed. We've said it every release lol. Last release was good for number sync though not lag. Hope lag is gone will be reading reports while at work.

I had no lag on 9.1 or 9.0.2 initially as well. one time i had to restore and it came back.
I know that it comes and goes when updating or restoring. Mine came with it out of the box but I managed to get rid of it. Pretty annoying, and also the tinny speaker...

I admit haven't had the time to actually reset and restore multiple times to try and rid myself of the lag. But short of turning off features you seem to be he only one of two here to be able to rid yourself of it. Going to take a few hours one day and try your method.

So you know how to make the lag come back and gone? You sure its not a coincidence?

Been through 3 handsets.
Restored on the last one 4 times.
Still the same on all (only the Touch ID unlocking lag)

Still the same on Beta 3, WTF Apple, this is an Issue and needs sorting, the fact that the Note 5 is running perfectly and this isn't, is not a good sign.

The Apple forum also has a large thread on the topic. Surely it's on their radar?
I'm sure it's happening to a ton of people - I know of others who just thought it was 'normal'!

The Apple forum is not overly policed by their technical specialists. It's essentially same as posting here or any other forum for as much as Apple pays attention to the goings on. Whilst there are admins who will flag threads for Apple's tech teams - you won't find any official Apple response or answer to anything in those threads.

So last night finally had time to do a couple resets and restores. And for the first time I restored completely from iCloud. Not all of my information and app data was saved so what I noticed was a lot of apps that reinstalled didn't install properly. Wouldn't open, or would crash right away.

Out of the 60 apps I have at least 12 needed to be deleted and re-downloaded to open and work. That got me to thinking maybe somehow someway during the restore process from iTunes or the cloud apps my be the problem causing iOS 9 hiccups.

Now to the major observation. I wanted to wait over night before turning back on Touch ID. Every other feature is on and working well no lag. And I'm on the 9.2.3. I'm going to turn the feature on shortly and observer performance and report back.

If someone else already posted about the app crashing issue after restoring I missed it. Just sharing my findings along the way to trying to get my device lag free.

Ok been one day with beta 3. Good news is that lag is still there but its got noticeably better like i never see 2 seconds lag any more. Its fairly quicker now. So try it if you are desperate.

Gotten worse for me. Lagging horribly.

If you want to go back to 9.1 there is an easy way not losing all your contents.
Set your phone to DFU mode. and connect it to itunes. and choose "update" instead of "restore" that will get you to 9.1 not losing all your stuff.

Saturday did a DFU restore and set up as "New" 9.1 No lag or freeze. Everything is running smoothly. No lag on unlock either.

If you are having issues I strongly suggest trying DFU Restore and see if this helps. If this doesn't and lag still exists, then a trip to the apple store.
