It's weird, mine does not always go super yellow. It seems to do it just under certain lighting conditions, and it's worse at a lower brightness. The rest of the time it's slightly warmer than I am used to, but 90% of the time it's perfectly acceptable.

Everything else on the phone is mint, great battery, non-samsung chip, screen lighting is even (if warmer), button feels really good. I am just gonna hang onto it for fear of getting some of the other more serious issues, and stop letting it bother me. I hope.

Got my replacement yesterday, it's worse than my original yellow tint. This one is way cooler (which is nice) however there is a noticeable dark spot on the upper left corner and the screen makes a clicking sounds when applying any pressure.

I'm sticking with my yellow tint and sending this new one back, think I'm done with the lottery.

Upgrading to the 7 anyway ;)

Yes this 'ambient light affecting screen colour temp' is discussed a lot earlier in this thread. I've seen it on many many iPhone 6Ss and it does it on mine too. Screen temp is different at home and and at work. Seems to be par for the course this year.

So I *MAY* have found a solution. I've just set it up. I've not yet been able to see if the ambient lighting thing kicks in and screws it all up, I'll report back. But so far I was able to get my screen back to a whiter tone that I like.

You MUST have a mac for this. I don't think I can help much if you get errors, as I just followed this video. I did have an error about icon size, but it did eventually install the app on my phone, which is running 9.1. Someone else may have linked to this earlier, and if so, thanks.

Once you get it installed, go to the COLOR option. What I did was set my sliders like so. I imagine it will change based on your existing screen temp and your personal likes.

Red - 9.39
Green 9.39
Blue 10.00

The key is to keep the Red and green the same. Try different numbers for your own tastes. The sliders are really finicky however. This has taken the yellow tint off my phone. Will it stick when the temp changes? Who knows. But it's a start.

So is it for sure that uneven displays are guaranteed for the type of display this phone uses? Or are there perfect displays out there?

I swear the top half of my display is dimmer than the bottom. If I load a black image at max brightness, I can see "blotches" on the display that are basically areas of uneven lighting.

No perfect displays out there - its all about finding one you are happy with (i.e. tolerate). Anyone that claims they have a perfect display just doesn't see any issues. In a way I envy them. Ignorance is bliss!

Wonderful :/ I'm not sure I can tolerate any of the flaws I find in these displays... The worst I would settle for is one corner that's barely dimmer than the rest of the display lol

The screen on my new 6S Plus is perfect. I don't need to turn up my brightness, use different colored screens, ect.. to see this. i can tell simply by using my iPhone everyday. ;)

My posted fix is working great.

This goes to show it's a software issue. Strange how some phones are warmer out of the box, and some are cooler, when it all can be adjusted with a tiny tweak.

Does it also work for displays that are darker towards the top or only for even coloured displays?

To really confirm this is a software issue, you should take two phones: one with a yellow tint, one with a blue, apply the same tweak to both and see if they still look different. Something tells me this is a hardware issue, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

I'd like to add that my 6s is a week 42 (October) model and I have screen uniformity issues. Doesn't seem like Apple is working on fixing this issue.
