How did you go about asking?

Honestly I just asked if it is at all possible. Played naive and very nice and just said is there any possible way to get it sooner. that's all I did. I have AT&T next and not the Apple iPhone upgrade program so it's not like I was getting preferential treatment because I'm on the Apple upgrade program I purchase my phone on AT&T next. It's just all about how you ask the rep that's all

And it didn't take multiple attempts all I did was ask once and the guy said no problem

Att 128g jet black iPhone 7+ on next program

Please explain. I was always under the impression that pre orders always ship with the same type of delivery.

called and switched to next day shipping. order went from 9/26 - 10/3 to 9/17 - 9/24. 7+ 128gb ATT via apple upgrade program

Just called Apple I think I might have solved a part of this puzzle. Everyone who is able to upgrade their shipping: how did you buy the phone? iPhone Upgrade Program, AT&T Next, outright, etc.?

Wondering the same.

Also, has anyone with October dates been moved into September windows?

Okay, interesting. When I called and tried chat, everyone told me that it was not possible. I don't have enough information to make a conclusion yet, but I'm under the impression that the shipping method can be upgraded if you DO NOT have installment plans. But let's see some other people's situations first...

Well that theory may not not correct because I have AT&T next installment plan and I was able to get my shipping changed which changed my order delivery window time.

I chatted about 5 times last night while watching a TV series. Each time I was told no expedited shipping. As to your theory, I ordered:

7 Plus, Jet Black, 256GB, ATT (but unlocked and at full price). I am not on NEXT or any payment plan or anything like that. I just buy my phones outright.

My shipping window and phone is the same as yours the only thing was different is that I purchased mine on AT&T next instead of the Apple upgrade program but I have the same exact initial shipping time is you and when I had them change it they changed it to the same exact new shipping time that you posted

Alright well never mind then xD
Very strange. Tried a total of about 4 times with online chat and phone calls and I got nowhere. With that being said, I still think the people who show upgraded dates on the order page aren't going to get the phones any earlier than the people with standard shipping. Just my theory, but no one knows for sure.

I am fully in the camp of there being no faster shipping than what you get standard with preorders. I just can't explain what some people are reporting...and it's making me want to try and get mine "expedited" despite the fact i don't think it actually changes anything. But why can some change and others can't??? This time of year drives me crazy.

Completely agree with you. I want to do it mostly for kicks, but I really don't think it will actually make a difference in the end. After all, it is a preorder. And that is my exact same question...

But if that is the case, then it actually makes things more hopeful. If the last date in the expedited shipping range is September 24th, then that means ALL OF US should get it before then!

Lol at y'all paying for expedited. All these preorders are going to move the same method. Apple has always been on the conservative side for shipping windows and it's funny to see all you guys paying just to see that conservative date move just a day or two.

Apple is basically just pocketing that money lol.

They do, don't worry about it. At this point we are just letting everyone else do their thing and convince themselves it is getting their phone to them quicker :)

Nah we got our orders expedited. But if you like telling yourself your own version, that's fine too :)

I chatted with Apple Customer Service. There is no expedited shipping. Just be patient. It'll come.

You just spoke to the wrong rep.

We've been over this already, there is no way to expedite a pre-order. There really is no need for you to respond to every comment that counters your thoughts on the matter. It's no big deal I have no issues with you calling or feeling like it helped, I am just trying to help the people who are confused and save them some time and hassle for no benefit.

I was able to change my default shipping method to Next Day Shipping via chat with apple, though the NDS charge was higher than others. (I've seen people said that they are charged for $5 for NDS, whereas mine is $12.)

Just in case anyone wonders: I ordered 7 plus jet black 128g and is paying the full price.
