Emoji are part of the unicode standard, Apple isn't "inventing" new ones, they are simply complying.new emojis ? how silly Apple is , ignoring the charge gate and releasing beta with new emoji !!
Anyone can submit proposals for new emoji! http://unicode.org/emoji/proposals.htmlDo you have any idea how long I’ve waited for a lobster emoji?
For the billionth time: Tim Cook/Apple does not make emoji!
Emoji are designed and and standardised by the Unicode Consortium – and that includes the various skin colours. Apple only implements these standards.
Step 2: Rinse and repeatHow to trigger a bunch of MacRumors users:
Step 1: Publish an Emoji article
Thinking between the lines, the previous comment meaning (if one thinks at all) that Apple seems to have a fully staffed emoji department, but is still very lacking in quality control and bug fix departments. Maybe they should fire the emoji department and hire some more real software engineers and do real work.
My guess is that if one fails at writing good quality software, then at Apple you get demoted to the emoji department. Right now that department seems way overstaffed. Go figure.
How about lets fix the LTE/WiFi issues first. Car Play seems to be impacted with iOS12. My X on iOS 11 was fine and worked like a charm. Upgraded and now the Xs Max on 12 wont stay connected to Wifi or to Car Play via bluetooth for more than a minute at a time
I agree. Let's send the emoji team home until the LTE/WiFi team on the other side of the building is done fixing the connection issues. How about lets fix the LTE/WiFi issues first. You're right, I'm sure Apple told all its developers to stop working on fixing problems found by putting the brand new OS into wide use, and start trying to draw emojis. Because "software developer" and "graphic artist" are completely interchangeable skills.new emojis ? how silly Apple is, ignoring the charge gate and releasing beta with new emoji !!
Go read up on Emoji Skin Tones and the Fitzpatrick scale - that's a solved problem. There are far too many face emojis. Wouldn't it be easier to just have one emoji and a popup RGB window to select the exact shade you want?
So what I'm getting is that if I'm having trouble with the mail server, the graphic designers where I work get to go home? They'll be so happy to hear that!I agree. Let's send the emoji team home until the LTE/WiFi team on the other side of the building is done fixing the connection issues.
The Unicode Consortium's working group on Emoji - the people responsible for approving the addition of new Emoji, does not read the forums of Mac/Apple rumor sites. You're complaint is going unheard. The entire world probably uses less than 50 on average. Stop the nonsense
Which has nothing to do with the colour of the skin of the emoji (which is part of basic specification) or anything with the addition of new emoji in general. For the billionth+1 time, Apple does design their own emoji. The Consortium provides a basic specification, but not a final design. This is why Apple, Google, and Microsoft emoji are all slightly different.
That's one (in numbers: 1) emoji out of currently 1644 (not counting colour variants) where Apple decided to change the design on their own behalf. Wow. Apple's really massively pushing an agenda here. (And, by the way, pretty much all other implementors followed suit.)AND, they "implemented" the gun as a little water pistol toy. There is a lot of social agenda in Apple's decisions.
Then you can ignore the suggestionTyping is your search. You don't need to switch to the emoji browser, just type on the keyboard, and matching emoji show up as suggestions. Solved.
If you’d waited 44 minutes to snark, you’d see that no one’s ignoring anything. New iOS update addresses charging issues, if that’s what you mean by “charge gate“.new emojis ? how silly Apple is , ignoring the charge gate and releasing beta with new emoji !!
Charging issues, beauty selfie cam, LTE speed issues ...
None of that matters. Emojis do.![]()
Yup. The original set of iPhone emoji:

But don't let facts get in the way.
