I have a 6. My instincts tell me to leave it on IOS9 and that 10 will choke my phone pretty badly. For those that have tested 10....opinions?

I wouldn't worry - I sold my 6s and using my old 5 for a few weeks in the meantime, and it has had the public beta of 10 and it runs as fast as it did on iOS9, so i dont imagine the 6 will struggle..

Exactly why I skipped the Note 7 for the iPhone 7 Plus. My iPhone SE and iPhone 6S already runs beastly on iOS 10 Beta but my Samsung S7 runs choppy at times on the Snapdragon 821. So knowing what I know now the Plus 7 will be a freaking hotrod.
The iPhone 7/7 Plus is the fastest commercial phone on the planet! I'm supper pumped!!!!

Surprised no one has noted that Apple themselves obviously ran this through geek bench as a marketing ploy.

At this point, these numbers (for any phone benchmark) are meaningless.
The real world observational differences in typical day to day use would be unnoticeable.

There was a time you'd see a difference, but over the last 5 years phones are so fast, no one will see any kind of difference.

I disagree. I could immediately tell the difference between the 6 -> 6s.

I've been running iOS 10 on my iPhone 6 since Public Beta 2 (I think). My personal experience with it has been great. There were some issues with it early on, but the last 2 or 3 betas have been buttery smooth. My battery life seems as good, if not better than iOS 9. The actions seem quicker. All in all, I feel like iOS 10 has given my iPhone 6 a new life.

If you have any specific questions, let me know and I would be happy to answer them.

Ultimately, a security vulnerable may eventually force you to 10, unless you don't mind your device being vulnerable, or if jailbreakers provide equivalent security fixes and your phone is jailbroken.

Its a bit meaningless as the 4 cores will virtually never all be pumping out full power - that's the whole point - supposed to be running minimally and cool where possible.

What's the meaningless bit? The 2 smaller cores aren't adding much to performance, they're for power savings. The 2 bigger cores are comparable (for all intents and purposes) to the dual cores in the past several Ax chips. So, it should be very meaningful to compare to previous iPhones.

The s7 has a snapdragon 820

Its a shame that they removed the "no animation"-bug, my iPhone 6 felt so incredible fast using that bug, imagine using an iPhone 7 with that bug

Apple says the A10 Fusion chip is the most powerful chip ever in a smartphone, running two times faster than the iPhone 6 with graphics performance that's up to three times faster.
When it will conquer the world? Siri, wake up.

Faster, better and more stable than any 9 version. My battery life is much improved on my 6. People beta testing say it even makes their 5s better.

should they remove the "pro" moniker from the ipad if it's at the same level of a phone?

The iPads have always shared the same chip with the iPhones (with the X mod), and I cannot see that changing, so the "pro" label is bound to be about other things.

Four things.

The fake results weren't far off, I knew it'd be close.

Apple's chip architecture is outstanding.

Can't wait to see the iPhone 7 obliterate the Note7 in speed tests.

For people who are saying the Note7 scores a higher Multi-Core, so what? You most tasks require the single core, hence why Apple work so hard in this department.
