'Absinthe A5' Brings First Untethered Jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2

I use TetherMe and it works perfect. I have Verizon, but I don't think that matters.

iBooks 2
I have my iPhone jailbroken and I used the iBooksfixer (or whatever it is called) to let me still use iBooks (1.5) on my iPhone. My iPad already has iBooks 2 installed and I am wondering if there is anyway to still use iBooks 2 on a jailbroken iPad. If there's not, that will be the only reason I don't jailbreak it.
I have my iPhone jailbroken and I used the iBooksfixer (or whatever it is called) to let me still use iBooks (1.5) on my iPhone. My iPad already has iBooks 2 installed and I am wondering if there is anyway to still use iBooks 2 on a jailbroken iPad. If there's not, that will be the only reason I don't jailbreak it.

I have a GSM ipad2 and just ran the latest TinyUmbrella to save SHSH for 5.0.1. I saw in another thread people saying I need to upgrade to 5.0.1 now if I want to ever have it because SHSH are "useless" in IOS5. However, I saw on the TU website that it makes APNonce requests, although I don't know if that generates a separate file or that's just included in the SHSH file that TU creates.
I'm on 4.3.3 right now; I haven't jailbroken my ipad in the past but I guess I like having the option. However, I'm not sure yet about whether I want to upgrade to IOS5 right this second as I have to check app compatibility. Newer versions of some of the apps I use have design changes I don't like, or obnoxious bugs, so I have left them on older versions. I haven't had time to check everything for compatibility so I'm not sure I want to rush in to upgrade to IOS5.
In any case, do I need to upgrade now or can I wait and upgrade to 5.0.1 later, given that I just saved SHSH (I guess w/ AP Ticket???) in TU?

Just curious is anyone using an iphone 4s (AT&T version) to tether with PDA Net any info on the speed with speedtest.net ? I'm amazed at just how much the JB community has changed and how it's become accepted by a larger portion of the rest of the apple community. Not to mention how much easier it seems to e to jailbreak your phone now. What happened to the olden days of counting??? Lol

My iPad 2 is jailbroken but the Cydia app is not appearing. Absinthe says the device is jailbroken.

Nope, not at all.
But I don't do anything to change the GUI with fancy themes or anything. Just things like iBlacklist and Autoresponder.

I've been trying to jailbreak my 4S for two days with no luck. Here is my story.
I have an iphone 4S running 5.0.1. 9A405. I got Absinthe to actually install on the phone. However, hitting the app did nothing. VPN trick did nothing. Yes, I removed my passcode lock. Still no success.
I then restored my phone to try again. I realized it went to 5.0.1. 9A406 and I said ******!!!! So I downgraded back to 5.0.1 9A405 and restored again.
Now, when I run Absinthe, it gets stuck on "beginning jailbreak, this may take a while" and stays there for hours.
I have AT&T and am currently roaming internationally in Italy. Is this what the problem is? Why was I able to get Absinthe on the phone and now I can't get it on my phone.
I'm using a mac if that helps. Any help would be VERY appreciated.

JB my ip4s yesterday, wasn't as smooth had to restore it.. but now it's all good.
As for the piracy thing, nope haven't even bothered downloading any pirated apps. I installed some NC mods, bitesms, and some custom alert sounds for specific instances. Not saying a lot of ppl won't use JB to get a few apps, but for me it's all about opening up the user experience. Lovin it so far.

Had the v0.1.2 ended up with the white screen error. Downloaded v2 and all is well

2 good reasons to jailbreak is to get cracked (pirated) apps on your iPhone and the other is to tether your iPhone's internet to your computer for free, especially if you have unlimited data.
Jailbreaking to get pirated apps is NOT a good reason to jailbreak. Sure it's possible, but please, PLEASE buy your apps. Sheesh.
As for a REAL reason to jailbreak, I like customizing my UI. I like changing sounds, icons, wallpapers, etc.

I just paid 20 bucks for MiWi, so just the opposite is true of most of us. MiWi and the 3G unrestrictor (which I don't really get, but people are buying it so obviously they want it) are very popular apps. Now I can use the data on my AT&T plan on my laptop, Kindle Fire, and eventually iPad 3 too.
Can anyone who's done it tell us if iBooks works on it? I don't want to jailbreak if it breaks iBooks.
Ok so I took the plunge. It seems to have screwed up iTunes. I have iTunes Match and now it doesn't function properly. It's all buggy now.
iTunes match is still rather new. Gotta give hackers time to figure out how to get it rocking.
