Success!

Everything worked perfectly.
I used the direct link download from earlier in the sight and didn't toggle vpn until I was prompted to interact with the device.

The only remaining reason really is that people want to pirate things.

just one more reason....

I work for a media company that has one of the most popular mobile apps on all platforms. Now in order for us to make changes and test we need to automate the device. Guess what you cant do unless it jailbroke. We can run thousands of tests, over and over to ensure it works like it should in a matter of minutes or hours where if it was not jailbroke it would take weeks. This enables us to make timely updates to the app without losing a small fortune in wages.

1) Does Netflix still work on jailbroken devices?

2) I have a 4S with horrible battery life. I was waiting for the 5.1 update which is supposedly going to fix the battery issues. Now I'm not sure if I should update now or wait for 5.1 (I'm guessing it'll be a long time after 5.1 is released for a jailbreak to come out).

This. 70% of Jailbreakers are pirates.

Disclaimer: My iPod Touch 1G is jailbroken, But not my iPad 2.

Honestly, It makes using iOS more complicated...

Also, The percent is not accurate, it's just an estimate.

I got as far where I have the absinthe logo on my home screen, when I open it its just blank no text no nothing and when I attempt the vpn trick I just get an error

anyone else same problem?

Doesn't work, just white screen with no activity. If I try to turn on VPN I get an error saying I can't, it doesn't reboot and if I do it myself i return to white screen.
Same loop for about one hour.

This is a serious question and i hope someone could answer it. I dont get why people keep jailbreaking their iPhone instead of just getting an android? Im an iPhone user and i like it the way it is. if i wanted a jailbroken one, i would simply get a (cheapier) Android..

is it because of the apps? I really just want to know.
I jailbreak because of MyWi and for iBlacklist. iBlacklist blocks callers not in my contacts list. I have no other reasons to jailbreak, those two apps are totally worth it

Didnt work for me... Any clue?

When i click "Jailbreak" it starts and take a eternity at "This may take a few moments", ok, but then it crashes and show me errors log...

who cares about the name and logo? you're getting a tool that takes hours and hours of hard work which most people dont even have the knowledge to do... and you are getting it for free.......and you complain about the name and logo  jeez some people are just beyond ridiculous.

*shrug* I was making a point about the perception. I know when I see a bunch of zeros in a name the first thing I think is "Oh ****, these people don't have a clue what they're doing". I expect a buggy mess from people who have never written software for a living.

Bad timing

Bad timing releasing this before 5.1, unless the vulnerability is already patched in the current beta 3.

Most 4S users need 5.1 to fix the battery issues that weren't resolved correctly in 5.0.1, and now apple can patch it before the final release :(

They said it was patched in the latest beta.

Did you use the "pulled it out of my a$$" research method to come up with this estimate? :D

After a few attempts to load Absinthe and got the database error, it finally loaded, but all I saw were articles. Not sure what I am supposed to do. Now whey I click the absinthe icon, it goes to an all white screen with no text.

I have the same problem. Sometimes I get the articles and sometimes I get nothing. Did you figure anything out?

EDIT: And other times one of the blue notification boxes that reads:

Cannot Open Absinthe
Absinthe could not open the page
because the server stopped
responding

CLOSE RETRY

Estimate based on what source?

The beauty of being ignorant, is that if you repeat something made up long enough, you start believing in it as the truth.
