This video really helps! Pre-ordered 128GB 7+ Jet Black from AT&T on 9/9 2:53AM EST and still showing preparing to ship with the estimated delivery date of Oct 14 - Oct 21.

After watching this video I hit the cancel button from AT&T and just reordered the matte black from Apple with estimated deliver date of Oct 12 - Oct 18.

really liked that guy reviewing actually, I usually don't because they use some loud annoying gimmick, or are really boring.

Anyway, watch this and then watch the matte black scratch test video and it is pretty clear which one you should get if scratches bother you even 1% haha

Wow lol This is exactly what I predicted about the jet-black color. Demand is popular for this, but personally, it reminds of the iPhone 3g. Pass.

Don't look at pictures. Go look at it yourself in store if you plan to buy one. Chance is you likely will switch to matte.

I have no plans on switching to Matte. My Jet Black Plus is on order. Waiting for it still. I feel like the JB is the most different iPhone this year in terms of design and that's why I like it.

its funny when people say the matte black looks dull. What do you guys think matte is? of course its dull thats the point...
Like when people get matte black for their cars because they like that dull black color.
Some people like bling like chrome which looks horrible and cheesy imo and some people like sleek flat black look for things.
batman never complained.
Also, what is everyones take on trade in for next plans or apple upgrade plans with jet black. I know you have to turn in a mostly cosmetic free from for a new upgrade. What would happen if you turned in a pretty scratched up phone over 1-2 years of use? Has anyone traded in a phone that had plenty of scratches on it?

Finally an honest person Jet Black looks like they asked how can we make Metal Look like Plastic. Besides Jet Black Is Guranteed to have ZERO resale value due to all the Scratches Unless you put it in a case then that makes that person a double fool buying Jet Black and hiding away its looks in a cheap plastic case.
The whole phone is ugly. Still bought one though.
Ok so why?
Well. My 5S was going strong, (apart from a deteriorating battery and recently replaced lightning connector). I needed something with a good low light camera and my daughter needs, (= wants), an upgrade.
So, bought a temporary case annd screen protector from Amazon. My dissatisfaction is completely OCD but it is what is is.
The reason I passed on the 6 and 6S is chiefly that god awful stick out camera. That’s still here of course.
The second reason are those obtuse antenna lines, at least they’re almost invisible now.
Lastly and I didn’t notice it until now is the fact that the screen protector is so obvious because of the flat screen. The protective film doesn’t cover the curved edges and it looks as ugly as sin.
Not happy with the purchase but I doubt anything else on the market would get any closer.

Just checked them out today. My store (southern CA) only has 1 jet black iphone 7 for display. There's a guy standing next to it just to wipe it off. There's tons of scratches on it already. The matte black is truly black. Pictures don't do it justice. It looks really really nice. The Jet Black does blend the screen and the body really well. But I'm impressed more with matte black. I actually pre order both but now I won't have 1 bit regret for choosing the matte over the Jet Black. Call me biased or what not, but I feel the jet black looks and feels kinda cheap since it doesn't feel like metal at all . The matte looks strong and powerful. It's the actual star of this year
When I unboxed my matte black it shocked me and how dark it really is! Pictures are pointless with it because you just have to see it for yourself and it's sexy!

Saw the JB in store. So happy I'm going to get that instead. Such a sleek and sexy phone. Glad I didn't go with the matte black, wasn't a fan of it.

Runner up is Rose Gold. With the antenna bands not showing as much, the color pops out even more.

I checked out both at Best Buy tonight and ordered a Jet Black Plus. They are saying it's going to be a while. Oh well. My biggest concern is to make sure I still get the $650 trade in with AT&T for my 6 Plus.
I preordered at 3:30am 9/9 and I'm gonna be waiting 3 weeks+ can't Imagine how long you will wait lol

Scratch videos posted really helps. Although JB looks beautiful it gets scratches so easily. If you find JB beautiful and dont mind scratches buy it. If you dont want scratches because of daily use buy another color.

If you are using your phone with a case then I guess it doesnt matter aasuming case itself doesnt scratch JB.

if you normally use cases then covering up the phone hides all these things. i take it that temporary case means you usually go case less?

How dumb/careless you have to be to put your phone in your pockets with coins or keys? Why would you slide your phone across the table? Pick up the damn thing!

Oh, and these scratch 'tests'...

"Hmm I wonder if it will scratch if I pick up my knife and drag the blade across the back of the phone.." Who the hell does that?

I keep my phone in the same pocket as my headphones. I thought most people kept keys and phone in separate pockets.

No normal person

JB is stunning. Just received my plus and it's pure class. Feels and looks like glass on glass. Also feels like a real upgrade rather than just another 6. My Matte will be here next week so I'll compare and decide.

Ignorant nonsense. Yea it's going to be worthless. Nobody will pay a dime for it.

People will buy anything... but most people just turn it back into the carrier to upgrade these days so does not even matter anymore. However, I agree I saw the JB at Verizon yesterday when getting a case and agree it looks cheap and more like a 5c. I was shocked how dark of a black the matte black is compare to the pics. Very happy I went MB.

I usually wear trousers to cover up my underwear. It doesn’t mean I’d buy brown and yellow Y fronts. I have a clear case too, it’s until I find something more substantial that I can use.

Oh, and I did qualify my post by saying that my dissatisfaction was a bit OCD.

If you've ever rocked the glossy "jet black" iPhone 3G/3GS naked in the pants pocket, you'd know it's pretty much self cleaning each time you put it in and out of the pocket. It isn't that bad.

I'm really enjoying not being able to see the antenna bands at all. I thought it'd be more obvious but it's pretty much invisible on the JB.

Strangely, it seems a bit more grippy than the Space Gray iPhone 6s. So much for the argument that JB would be so slippery that it'd fly out of your hands.

The iPhone 7 looks rather impressive in Jet Black. However, given that it is exceedingly prone to scratches and smudges, it seems that using a case is necessary rather than optional. Covering the finish of a Jet Black iPhone with a regular case would be rather paradoxical, and I suspect that even a clear case would diminish or impair the look. Moreover, I do not understand the logic of Apple going through so much trouble to make anodized aluminum look like plastic. I have several devices with a piano black finish that are made of plastic --such as an Aukey power adapter, LG Bluetooth headphones, and a Seagate external drive-- and they need to be handled carefully. For all of the foregoing, I chose Black rather than Jet Black.

Why do you think that everyone cares about scratches or that they are going to scratch it?

For example, I have never used a case since I got my iPhone 4 then 5, 6 and finally 6s. I've never had any serious scratches, just few hairline marks which are almost impossible to see even when you know where to look.

One drop without a case on a hard surface and then we'll see who is the actual fool.

I'm with you. Though I'm already resigned to the fact that this one may show more scratches under direct light than in the past.

If it bothers me one day I'll slap a case on it...but at that point I doubt I'll care. My 6 Plus is dented in corners and had scratches.

It will still feel nice
