Their response seems reasonable to me. You are not out a cent and they're eating whatever shipping costs them. They simply may nt have been able to cancel the order in time and had to wait for Apple to tell them it was built and shipped to take action.

To me it comes down to which machine do you want?

No, I doubt they are paying for the shipping and probably won't refund me the $70. I paid for overnight and it looks like it's not overnight shipping.

My Apple order is still processing. I know if I run into an issue with it, I can return it immediately. This one from Adorama, once I open it, not happening. After this sour experience with them, I am tempted on sending it back. Then I have to fight them on a refund, where Apple I don't, it hasn't even charged me yet.

Above is the response I got from Adorama. My card has not been charged for the MacBook Pro just the $349 apppecare. The total with adorama is $4073 however if I do the educational order with Apple & drive up to NH Apple Store (40mins away from me, but no tax) I could pick up an i9 with same ram/ssd/gpu spec for $4248 and pickup tomorrow.

If that's the case you may want to talk to your credit card comapny since they would have not delivered as promised; if they haven't charged your card that indicates to me it probbaly still ahsn;t shipped or they are waiting until it shows you received it.

They charged my card the day I ordered it. $5200~ bucks. I am probably just going to send it back and wait for the Apple one. I don't want to deal with this company again after this bs. It will either be BH or Apple only for me from now on. Even though this one will be in my hands sooner, I rather deal with apple after this and wait another week if that for the next one.

That's understandable.

I'm going to wait until tomorrow to get some kind of update from Adorama if the product will be arriving anytime soon. If not I will just cancel order and purchase via Apple but downgrade to i7 2.6ghz. From my understanding there is no discernible performance difference between the two as the i9 gets throttled anyhow due to temps.

If only there was some kind of benchmark burst testing of apps loading / web page browsing and see if the i9 is faster in any way.

Yeah that's what I am doing. My order with Adorama is for an i7 Vega 20 If I can't get a delivery date from them I am cancelling and going to the Apple Store to get the i9 Vega 20 which seems to be in several Apple stores near me. I am still a bit concerned with the heat / throttling issues with the i9.
 
Now if I can just get my order canceled and card refunded, I'd be happier. Been 24 hours, and still not done. Yep, they are lying to me yet again.

I've had one bad experience with this vendor via an Amazon.com purchase. They would not honor a price on an external hard drive. Check out Yelp about what others think about this company. My fave is B&H Photo for customer service and integrity.

I suppose these delays may be out of their control. However, I don't do business with them.

My fave also was B&H as well - but this year they have been worse than Adorama. They are incapable of shipping on time (on some macBooks takes the more than a week when they represent it is in stock and ready to ship, they lie when call customer service, etc.). The artificial advantage of no sales tax is slowly disappearing as court rulings are requiring. For a couple of hundred dollars on a $5 K machine, the aggravation is not worth it. Amazon's new deal with Apple means they will soon will carry the whole line - and they are far more reliable. I used to do tons of business with B&H and to a lesser extent with Adorama. Now they are vendors of last resort.
 
Got an update from Adorama. They emailed me this below, which to me had a rude tone to it. Also, it took them 10 days to get me a tracking # from the time I ordered it. 4 days from when I told them to cancel and they still didn't cancel it. So they are basically eating my $70 in shipping that they won't return I am sure on purpose.

Now the decision is, to keep my Apple order directly with Apple, and return this back to Adorama without opening it, or keep the Adorama one, take a chance on it, and canceling my Apple order.

Today i got am email from de same guy and i ask if you can not tell me a tracking number please cancel it and now i have a tracking number. I ordered 26 but they shipped until 30 from Shangai now i dont know how long it will take ti arrive.

Adorama can't seem to give me a delivery date so I have decided to cancel and go to the Apple Store and buy an i9 Vega 20. My only concern is the heating / throttle issues with an i9
 
Apple just charged my card overnight. So that usually means it’s shipping today so I may have apples tomorrow. Before Adoramas! Lol. Only 2 days with apple vs 2 weeks with Adorama by the time I get it which will be returned.

I responded back to the guy as soon as I got the email with several emails. He never repsponded to me with my questions any more. Very upset if they can send an email but won’t answer my additional questions.

He said to not open the box. I asked if he meant the product box which I assume and not the shipping box. So I can send it back. Also, who I contact to return it (him or customer service) since he said let him know ASAP.

This may be because it was for an i7 Vega 20 which even Apple are not giving delivery dates before Dec 18. I am on my way to pickup an i9 Vega 20 at my local Apple Store.

I made sure Adorama sent me a cancellation email and will check my credit card to make sure the $340 AppleCare has not been charged. Since this is tied to an actual serial number it should be refunded or not charged. I wish the Adorama folks had told me at ordering time back on the 23rd nov that there would be a longer delay for the i7 or keep me informed proactively but I guess they really did not want me to cancel an order so left it up to me to chase them! When I ordered they said 7-10 biz days and I just believed them. However I will say they didn't seem to give me any bother when I cancelled this morning.

Yeah their customer service reps are not great they don't seem to investigate much further than what is on their screen. They won't help if you want to expedite an order or really chase up on orders with manufacturers. "Computer says no"

I ordered a hard drive from this business via Amazon.com. Then Adorama cancelled the order stating there was a "glitch" in the advertised price. I can't call this bait and switch as they didn't even offer to sell me another one at the corrected price. I guess it was bait and disavow any responsibility to honor the advertised price.

I contacted them about my disappointment and then they sent me a series of e-mails that pretty "parroted" their insincere apologies. Just reading the rest of their reviews here confirms their multiple 1 star ratings. Evidently what they lack in ethics they make up in the number of customers they can sucker in. I had a hard time even clicking a one star rating.

From what I'm reading online is that their business practices and ethics are awful. I feel sorry for their employees that have to make excuses for their awful customer service and screw the customer policies.

Don't buy from this company even if Amazon is the intermediary. In the end you will be disappointed

Luckily Amazon made it right. So I have nothing to say but positive things about Amazon.com. I hope they ban hammer this company.

I placed an online order with Adorama Camera but it was cancelled a couple of days later (late Oct, 2014). They claimed that the price listed was a system glitch. They decided not to honor their listed prices and that was it. Will I order anything from this place again?? No way!!! A good business will always honor their listed prices regardless of the reasons. Enough said."

lol! Yeah, she is a waste. She ignored all my emails except that one, even the questions I had afterwards. Not impressed. I'll never use this company again. They lost a $5k sale, including future ones.

Now, my Apple order says its preparing to ship. Look at how efficient Apple is with their ordering system and only took two business days from the time I ordered till it shipped. Amazing!

i said in chat that i may want to cancel my order. went afk for a minute, then told me that they canceled my order. good grief... i told them i MAY want to cancel my order.

Aohus, I think they saved you the frustration. Just order it from Apple with Education pricing or even cheaper Military/veterans.

Mine did ship yesterday and it shows an ETA of Thursday from Apple. The one from Adorama is stuck in Ohio. 2 days to ship from Apple. Amazing.

If you paid for overnight - and they do not ship overnight, I would open a dispute with the credit card issuer for the overnight charge, that you are likely to win.
 
B&H received stock of the i7 Vega 20 and can ship now. But for the i7 2.6 / 16GB / 1TB I don't know if they have others it may be a sign more products are arriving across all retail.
