Most people think ads have no effect on them however ads work. Ads are designed to manipulate and I avoid them always.I guess people must buy things from these ads or they wouldn't put them out there. I can't remember one time I ever have though.
At least with Google you do not need to worry about them selling every scrap of data they can collect on you to anyone with a buck. You already know they do this - its in their terms and conditions.Google Maps is a far superior mapping system and it also has ads. No reason to stick with Apple Maps, especially since Google Maps got updated with immersive navigation so Apple doesn’t even look better anymore.
Macrumors continues to go down the drain. Can’t even let us complain about Apple’s greed. Did Apple’s PR ask them to do this? MR does receive media tickets for events at Apple.******tification

Edit: Interestingly, the censorship is another example of the definition.

In the US I’ve not had a problem, but in Warsaw, Poland I had a problem where Apple Maps decided to give my walking directions that included going over a railway.Maps can be pretty awful; rerouting you mid journey. It needs to be watched very closely on a long journey.
Oh and maps on a pushbike is really random, frequently routing down a footpath which often results in a dead end (e.g. a style or person-only gate).
Maybe it is time to try Google maps?
Yes... because a giant coloured border with the "Ad" badge is "unobtrusive" LOLThe “ads” in the App Store are non-intrusive.
Maximizing profits. The only reason the company exists. According to share holder rules. Is apple out of money? Why so much greed?
It's the same people that question why buyers get their hands on iPods, "but we have an iPhone", negative, its' dedicated to music for obvious reasons, I used to be an Archos media type of guy, but they went the route of android and now every media player is the same.Or just make these the last Apple products you buy? That’s d)
So that's one. Any more?I do. I now prefer it over google maps on my iPhone. On desktop I still use google maps.

Subscribe to Apple+ and have no ads in AppleMaps. After some years Apple+ subscribers receive some ads in AppleMaps. How to block this rubbish? Hopefully there'll be a VPN which will block all this nonsense.
I notice that splotlight seems to present adverts when you search your messages. I truly hope that Apple's not sending our info out to their advertisers... A pox on them.
Not when profits are on the line, plus how is their AI model going to learn. Place ads, learn from user interactions. Claim it’s for the betterment of the experience. This is disgusting! Think different, yeah right!
iAds is resurrected 😝Go to Apple Maps, search for “Food”.
Examine the results.
In the future, it’ll be just like that, but the top result will have a tiny “AD” logo.
It’s known as corporate finance optimization. 😉Is apple out of money? Why so much greed?
