Standing in line for ***** headphones?
Coming online to complain about people waiting in line for headphones......
[doublepost=1482181105][/doublepost]
It's more of nothing is fact unless you can back it up beyond "my friend says..."

It could be more that he isn't as sure in his friendship and hasn't been offered such perks by"his friend".

But by all means please continue with subjective defenses.

I just find it highly odd that 10-20 people were in line at 6:30 AM got their names on a list for pick up later-but couldn't appear at 9:00 when the doors opened to pick them up-
Prove it does happen. Beyond "I find it extremely odd".

Opinion and fact
Thus is every conspiracy theory alive and well. PROVE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN!!! Um, proving a negative is extremely difficult.
If you can support your thought with anything more than "my friend says" I consider it opinion. It's not a conspiracy theory-however highly unusual for many of us to report that "they only had one to sell" "stock claimed at 6:30 AM" ... when was the last time they started taking names for the first folks in line days ahead of release-sure would save a lot of time for customers...

But thanks for you enlightening perspective on ethics and trust. The world is in sore need of it.

you should try salary

?
i dont think you get it. Yes salaried or not it's still value of time and $.

I never understand why people get so pissed off about this.

Not everyone works M-F 9-5. And even if someone does take a day off to stand in line, seriously...

Who. The. Hell. Cares?

it's an observation . nobody is mad lol

"Canadian Stupidity". Pointing out the facts, huh?

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

Yes. I was pointing out that the particular person who decided to call out a country/region as being stupid for queuing up on a "workday" was indeed being stupid themselves.

I'm sorry you could not discern that yourself and you are welcome for the information/clarification.

so your core issue is their lack of punctuality? if they had agreed to pick up "later" with no obligation to be there as the doors open then so be it. We can speculate all we want but I'm not going there. I see where you are coming from, I don't necessarily agree with it but do understand.

As much as these sound like a good idea - for that price, i can get a good pair of headphones that blow these out of the water. Good for everyone else, who are looking for a pair. If anything, I think this will push the industry forward with better wireless audio equipment.

Am I missing something, why so more interest in these or is this just the usual Apple undersupply creating demand?

First Apple-branded wireless headphones with competitive features at a competitive price. Hard to find quality bluetooth headphones with every feature these have at the same price point. All of that combined with holiday shopping = demand.

I fully think some of these must be hired to be there. I can sort of understand a long line for something like an iPhone or Mac, but freaking headphones? It isn't like people couldn't have pre-ordered these if they wanted them this much.

Honestly, I love Apple as much as anyone on this board, but I'm a bit mystified by all the hype surrounding this product. What am I missing? o_O

I don't get it either. It's as if it's a new iPad or iPhone being released. Didn't think there'd be this much hype over them, I thought it'd be something similar to a new phone case being released. While I'm not at all interested in buying them as I'm unable to wear headphones anymore (probably explains why I don't get the hype), there seems to be a strong demand and a lot of people wanting them, so I hope they enjoy.

Also on a positive note, other than the SE, I think this is the first Apple product released this year where there have been very little complaints and mainly positive feedback, which is always nice to hear, especially considering all the negativity lately from Apple.

I'm not saying it's a sure thing at all. Just seems odd to me. Also the manager said that both other locations in northern Utah had stock of more than a few as he indicated with green check marks on his inventory app. Another member who went to Farmington (north of salt lake) said they only had 1. Again something doesn't gel and add up.

I agree with that. What makes them so attractive to me is the seamless integration across Apple devices, and I actually like the design (which seems to make me a minority). Cant find another respectable pair of bluetooth headphones that do everything the AirPods do at the same price point. (not saying AirPods are better at everything, but they have all the features)

I want an actual in-depth review of the sound quality. Not the "I just paid 160 and they sound amazing." Too much purchase justification.

Sound quality reviews are so subjective. It would be very simple to return AirPods for a refund. Besides, I'm reading that they sound a lot like EarPods.

AirPods certainly won't be replacing the headphones I use for "serious listening" at home, but I'm thinking their convenience and connection stability will make them more than good enough to replace my BT headphones for the gym and train commute to work.

Just got mine from FedEx. Sound at least as good as stock buds, which is what I usually use, and setup with my 6 Plus was a breeze. They fit my ears fine and don't seem likely to easily fall out. They are pretty much exactly what I expected.

Mine just showed up. Were originally scheduled for the 21st, so that was a nice surprise.
My experience 30 min into owning them is positive. Paired instantly out of the case. They have a heft to them that the corded-versions lack.
The sound is pretty similar to the corded versions as well. I'm imagining they sound slightly better, but that could be exactly that.. imagining.
They're staying in my ears just fine as I eat lunch and pick up around the house. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and they don't look anywhere near as goofy as I'd imagined when I saw them at the launch.
I would never use these for prolonged music listening if any of my over the ear cans were available to me, but to have in my pocket as I run around town during the day, or at work for quick "escapes", the are going to be great.
