Have them out of the box for 15 minutes... so far so good. Apple said Wednesday delivery while Fedex said Tuesday. Then 7:30A EST this morning got an Out for Delivery message

Boggles the mind that people will line up for this stuff.

I wonder how many lost at least one of them before they got home :p

I've owned 3 different BT headsets for the past 5+ years, each similarly sized to the AirPods and have not lost any of them. Do people lose things - including small tech devices? Of course, but I would make a bet that it's not even going to be a blip on Apple's radar over the coming year(s).

All we'll hear is from disgruntled people who don't want to pay for a replacement - or from fake stories of people who don't want to pay for a replacement. I think the fact that you can lose one and keep using the other, for phone calls, is a great thing.

And the benefit of being able to charge one while using the other and swap back and forth [without interrupting a call no less] is exactly the reason why I have 3 headsets today - because I couldn't get through the day with one and sometimes while traveling I wouldn't have the ability to charge the other so I would take all 3 with me to ensure I had at least 2 that were ready to go.

One shoe...
Do you have children?

Reminds me of the commercial for booking.com - "And one kid left his shoes on the plane...his shoes!" With 4 kids, we've gone through our fair share of one (of a pair) of missing socks, mittens, boots, sandals and shoes. Each has "lost" at least one headphone set - and I'm talking about the wired kind here.

I wouldn't buy any of my kids, even the adult ones, a set of AirPods at this point. Between the lives they live as young adults and the fact that they place very little value on tech devices, will almost ensure they lose one or both of them.

If it's too inconvenient, then just don't reply. I'd rather have no answer from you than a condescending one.

FWIW, many people before me also asked the question and no one bothered to say the iPhone still controls the volume until a few posts later. When everyone says "no volume control but Siri", to me that means NO VOLUME CONTROL except through Siri.

Damn, you're slow. No one mentioned iPhone volume control because they were all smart enough to know that would obviously work.

It boggles my mind people are waiting in line for these. $169 seems awful pricey for something like this

$159

You didn't read the fine print. They are NOT in stock at Best Buy. They will ship in February if you buy them from Best Buy.
Bro, not even true. I ordered this morning on Best Buy when it said it would deliver by 12/21 and they already shipped.
