I will buy AirPods when they make one that is capable of lossless audio. If we can’t meet basic digital standards from over 40 years ago then maybe it’s not ready for the world yet.

I've just bought a decent DAC and wired headphones for listening to music in the best quality I can afford but these do look good. I'll keep my current AirPods Pro for when I need to use wireless earbuds.
Im a bit of an audiophile like you, use DACs and decent wired headphones for the best audio quality. The Airpods Pro are very good though, have a nice flat sound signature, perfect for people like us. They actually sound better than ‘Wired earbuds’ .

Isn’t usb c iPhones and lightning headphones the worst of both worlds? Forcing even basic users to carry two wires with them to keep their iPhone and headphones charged. I haven’t heard any rumors of the iPhone going usb c this year.

Certainly Apple realizes this so I think if the AirPods are going USB C, it adds support to the rumor that they will be able to reverse wireless charge on the back on an iPhone.

Apple should fixed the ANC/transparency modes which were nuked from way back from the updates. It's really not that good anymore. Also, upgrade the eartips and make it wider so it'll fit better, though hard to do with the terrible interior design of the case limiting the eartip size for larger tips. No mention of adding a small update button to the case so users can just manually get the updates?

What’s new about this? Current AirPods and AirPods Pro have this capability.
They have a very primitive version where they just remember the last place where the AirPods were disconnected. After that point, they have no idea what happened to them. I constantly get warnings that my AirPods Pro were left at place X. In reality, I just put them in my pocket at place X and drove away. that warning is both annoying and near useless.

If the new ones have actual, constant location awareness, that will be a big improvement.

Not quite, they can use a bluetooth ping as a location finder which lets your phone show basically a "hot/cold" type finder and they can be told to ping to find them with sound. The combination let me find a lost earbud in the grass a few weeks ago.

Full find my integration would be nicer though

Temperature and heart rate. This is ridiculous. Those would be useless features on headphones that are duplicated by watches. Temperature is just completely unnecessary. No one needs constant temp measures.

Mmyes. I am sure everyone can afford an iPhone AND an Apple Watch AND these AirPods.

Or maybe they prefer to wear a Breitling Navitimer. There a plenty of alternative scenarios to your one true path.

yes, I suppose the actual ear pieces can do that. Where I run into limitations is when they are stored the case and the phone only knows where they were when they were put away.

About damn time! My Case only charges wireless now and the LED is dead. Apple wanted 100€ from me for a new case when you can get brand new AirPod Pro for around 70€ more. Such a joke!

That's funny I have the exact same problem with my case. Dead led and only wireless charging.

Is it just me who feels likes the AirPods Pro is one of the longest lifecycles of an Apple product? I’ve been waiting a long time to upgrade to AirPods Pro but have been holding out on upgrading since a ‘new version’ has been coming for a looooong time.

I had a pair of Powerbeats Pro in ear wireless headphones and did not like the fit and how they blocked out all the sound around you. Do the Airpod pros fit and act the same way?

No way that they’ll make it USB-C while the iPhone is still Lightning. That doesn’t make sense even for people who love USB-C.

But they’ve sure designed a USB-C case, so they can start shipping it when the iPhone goes USB-C. The AirPods product cycle is pretty long, after all. That’s probably what the leakers saw.

But yeah, USB-C is happening. But we knew that. The big question: Outside the EU, too?

It’s so weird since I didn’t do anything particularly different. It stopped working from one day to the next at a hotel in Mexico. I took them to the Apple Store but since the lightening connector seems to be dead (even though it looks perfectly fine) they couldn’t do a hardware test either. I am surprised they still charge wirelessly or that they still appear on the iPhone when I open the case to be honest. You would think everything is connected? Super weird but oh well, as long as I can still charge them wireless, I can hold off until the 2nd Gen
