AirPods are objectively a poor/bad product (relative to what they cost), they're extremely easy to make (it's a tiny low quality driver encased in plastic, with a chip), and Apple is likely exaggerating demand for PR purposes.

Not people who value their money.

This is one product where I believe Apple put some thought and care into, AP1 was not for everyone, AP2 improves on key areas, APP raised the bar in many areas such as sweat and water resistant, sound equalization, etc

I am sure it is not costing Apple what they are asking but for a customer chip and the transparency in switching amping devices it’s value depends on the potential customer. I like my APP and my wired Panasonic lightening earplugs. My only recommendation is for more control of the device built into iOS, my Panasonic wired buds have an app that I can custom.

I love reading about Microsoft these days. You get a very clear idea of what was happening 5 or 6 years ago in technology by watching what they are doing now.

Looking forward to seeing your AirPods competitor.

i'm living proof of this story - the stupid wired headphones that came with every iphone/ipod never fit my ears, nor of course did the airpods. but the airpods pro fit great and the ANC is awesome. i'm glad i bought them.

That’s a lot of AirPods.. but I actually returned mines. Noise cancelling worked great.. they sounded great as well. But I just never could get a good consistent seal. I could hear/feel them starting to slip out of my ear after about 3 minutes of use. Impossible for me to work out with them. Never had a problem with the OG AirPods..
but I’m also not blaming Apple with this form factor. I’ve never been able to get these cushion type of headphones to stay in my ear which is why before AirPods I used the power beats

iPad sales were like a runaway train when initially released. Then sales eventually derailed. Hopefully AirPods don’t witness the same fate.
There isn’t a company in the world that wouldn’t want the derailment known as iPad. Even at its lowest (sales are much higher again) it was still outselling all tablet competition combined.

That’s funny because my AirPod Pros have fallen out of my ears more times in the first week than my original AirPods ever have in 2 years of constant use. But I’m keeping mine because they still sound and work great.

Consumer Reports rank the Samsung earbuds significantly higher on quality and they are significantly more affordable. Choose wisely.

Indeed, choose wisely, and with choosing wisely also comes to take every aspect into account, which you clearly did not. Like the aspect that wireless earbuds is not only about the best sound quality (less sound quality doesn’t necessarily means bad quality) but also about ease of use. Owners of an iPhone understand this aspect and that explains the huge success of these Airpods.

If you’re looking for convenience and solid good audio quality, probably not the best but still very decent quality, and you own an iPhone, which millions worldwide do, then these Airpods are the best wireless earbuds to buy; by far.

We bought an iPad Air 2 at launch in October 2014 and it still works great as our family kitchen computer. It's still receiving system and security updates too.

No wonder iPad sales slowed down - - Apple makes the damn things last way too long!

I don’t believe that Consumer Reports review took the new Airpods Pro into consideration. Stay tuned...

My Airpods came without cable. I purchased a replacement cable online with Amazon but cannot find a way to plug it into my iPhone, nor my Airpods. Which adapter do I need to buy? Please advise.

Not sure what you mean. However, you use a standard lightning cable (the one you use for your iPhone) to charge the AirPods case (the AirPods charge while inside the case). If your AirPods have a wireless charging case then you can use any Qi wireless charging mat. The AirPods connect wirelessly to your iPhone. You pair them to your iPhone first, using the case. Here are Apple’s setup instructions: https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT207010. And here’s the page about charging: https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT207012
I hope this helps.

iPad sales peaked for FY 2014. FY 2015 to 2018, iPad sales declined. FY 2019 is the first fiscal year in 4 years where the iPad lineup saw YoY growth and even then they’re still not near 2014 levels. That’s not negativity. That’s a fact

If I remember correctly, Apple sells about 10 million iPads per quarter, some much more expensive than those 4 years ago. Do you call that derailed? With that logic, Mac sales never ever got on the track to begin with.

Why can’t they make AirPods in black? If you are using it for business a black one matches much better a dark suit and kind of blenda with hair colors. It feels weird to have something white on your ears. If they can make green and pink phones why can’t they make black AirPods?

It’s not that the AirPods are too expensive. It’s just the fact that two to three years from now the battery especially in the AirPods are at 60% capacity.
The battery health is a huge concern to me.

The strong growth is due in part to "much higher" early demand for AirPods Pro than Apple had expected.

iPhone growth curve.

In 3 years you will sell them used for $120, and get a drastically improved model.

This means your AirPods Pro experience would have cost you less than $50 a year.

Nothing “hugely concerning”, really. You’ll be fine.

Yeah not going to happen. You’ll sell them for 50$.

Wondering where you can get $120 for a 3 year old AirPods. My son has the 2nd gen with wireless charging for less than 4 months. For $120 it is all yours.

I just sold day-one AirPods 1 (2016) for €70. In 8 hours I got 4 phone calls and a dozen messages.

nope. See previous post. In Italy they were €179, sold for €70 veeery quickly.
A €279 pair will easily resell for €120, or more in the same timeframe.

@All, who have already purchased: what do you think about the build quality?
I like mines, but:
1. case lid is clicking (i think the problem is known)
2. the two halves are glued with some offset, so there will be always some dirt at this place (like in the picture). Does yours also have it?

Nice but want a corded version of AirPods Pro...EarPods Pro?

I own the Apple In Ear Headphones. Great buy. While not with ANC they still seal the noise pretty good and are corded. I don't think they are still sold though.

They are indeed fantastic. However they need a reasonable battery replacement price.

Yeah. Wasting a perfectly fine product with all the precious materials after the battery dies slowly after two or three years is a shame for such a green company Apple claims to be.
