These better be included in the box of a $1000+ cell phone that has no headphone jack.

If you're going to shell out $1000+ for a phone, you'll shell out $160 for a pair of AirPods. Plus if they did throw them in, that "discounts" the price by that amount compared to the "7s" series and could be seen as Apple being concerned that the "Pro" cannot justify it's price on the features alone and needs support (like some high-end Android phones do with bundling in accessories for free).

Jet Black AirPods Series 2 next week please.

I think we will see new colors, though perhaps not on the 12th.

(Including AirPods in the box makes sense) because in the near future a big selling point for smartphones will most likely be the inclusion of wireless earphones and this could be seen as Apple being first in the industry to do it.

I could see AirPods become standard with iPhones, but not for many years.

Waiting for mine since mid August, can't wait any longer!

The Best Buy near my place has had 20+ in stock for over a month... If you have one nearby, check it out.. not online, but physically in a B&M store.

I hope they drop to 99 Euro one day.

On that angle, the latest Upgrade podcast, Jason Snell and Make Hurley speculated that Apple might announce a price reduction for the AirPods on the 12th (from $159 to perhaps $129/139) in order to make them closer to impulse buys.

Lets keep our fingers crossed.

There is not much logic behind this post. If Apple would include them, then it would just raise the price point of the iPhone even more. Not to mention, that means the AirPods would also have to have a reservation strictly for the iPhone if they were to be included.

Not Everyone would want to have the AirPods included if they were not interested in them and would rather have them as a separate purchase.

I'm confused. September 21 to 28 is still 2 to 3 weeks from today, September 7. It just uses the dates rather than saying 2 to 3 weeks.

That's because they're secretly updating them to 2nd gen and will be shipping them out with the new iphone! :D

Not sure why online supply is so low, when every store in the UK has them in stock.

If you click Pick up:check availaibility, they're available in every UK Apple store for pickup tomorrow.

NEED NEED NEED Volume controls. Suggestion: Tap and slide up or down for volume controls like zooming in or out in Apple Maps ios11. Should work with the current hardware?

Nine months on and still no immediate shipment. Doesn't bode well for the new flagship phone
I agree with regards to the iPhone.
But seriously people, since when has it become a good news-worthy article that the most profitable company on the planet is going to to take slightly less longer to ship a product that has already been paid for and offered on sale through their channels?

i was super skeptical of these until i bought them, apple did a bang up job.

Have a pair of these, but still not a big fan. I don't like the way they creep out of the ear and have to be re-seated every few minutes. Plus, they really are just plain ugly.

on amazon you can get ear bud holders for them super cheap, they work really well holding them in.

But are they actually any good? Serious question.. I have Jaybird X2's with Comply tips and they sound awesome.

Partially that depends on how properly they fit. But I have been impressed with the sound and overall loudness as well. They don't have noise canceling, but that's not a factor for me. The battery life has been stellar, which 15 minutes is equivalent to three hours of usage. I find them to be well-made and constructed, and the charging case is very convenient for portability. There is a lot of technology packed into these for the price point of $160.

If you don’t mind losing Siri on them you can have one AirPod control volume up and the other AirPod control volume down on tap.

If I had to find one, my only gripe with AirPods is I find that tap gesture relatively hard to trigger. Generally end up drilling an AirPod into my ear cavity somewhat. It’s not a huge issue for me as I usually Hey Siri off the Watch nowadays, but I would love to see these updated with something more like a capacitive touch back panel to trigger that tap more gently, which would also enable a slide gesture that you mentioned.

I bet the issue in testing this would be that a slide up or down gesture on the AirPod would loosen them from the users ear.

My AirPods aren't just good, I'd rank them as the best consumer electronics purchase I've made since the original iPhone. Yes, I like them more than iPad, recent Macs, etc.

I use them for music, podcasts, Skype meetings, silent nighttime viewing with ATV. I might have to get a second pair because my wife tried them and was hooked after that first time despite not having any interest prior to that.

I have found that mine are very sensitive. I can trigger mine double-tapping the bone right in front of my ear (not touching the AirPods at all).

That's odd.

My nanny made me drive her to the Apple Store last night for an i watch bracelet and she asked them about the AirPods and pulled it right off the shelf and sold it to her!
