Partially that depends on how properly they fit. But I have been impressed with the sound and overall loudness as well. They don't have noise canceling, but that's not a factor for me. The battery life has been stellar, which 15 minutes is equivalent to three hours of usage. I find them to be well-made and constructed, and the charging case is very convenient for portability. There is a lot of technology packed into these for the price point of $160.

Thanks

Is the earpiece the same shape/fit as the EarPods?

It feels like these air pods were announced over a year ago and they are just now becoming available.

Apple doesn't include a $9.99 dongle in the box of a $2,799 MacBook Pro without any standard USB ports. Will $159 AirPods be included with iPhone 8? Of course not.

Apple's accessory/dongle business has never been better.

All these dongles can be purchased on Amazon, USB-C is not proprietary to Apple so any one can make USB-C to HDMI cable, Apple will not a cent from those sales.

I'm really tempted to order, but now if they announce "AirPods 2" at the upcoming event or another one this year, I'm not going to be happy. Such is the way of technology purchases, I guess.

Supply (artificially controlled since release ) eased for now..
Yep, Apple didn't want to sell them so far, now they want to improve their sales numbers for this quarter, so they started releasing millions of these into market, this is the game by Tim to control sales numbers.

My AirPods aren't just good, I'd rank them as the best consumer electronics purchase I've made since the original iPhone. Yes, I like them more than iPad, recent Macs, etc.

I use them for music, podcasts, Skype meetings, silent nighttime viewing with ATV. I might have to get a second pair because my wife tried them and was hooked after that first time despite not having any interest prior to that.

I like this too, but the pairing is not as simple, it is not easy to switch from ATV to iPhone when needed.

A year after they were supposed to debut they still cannot ship them immediately? I don't know what is happening at Apple lately. As for updating the Airpods. They're great unless you want to listen to them somewhere other than in total silence. If there is other noise, they're useless and simply are not loud enough. $99 would make them a so-so deal if they could be shipped same day. As usual, Apple figures out a good deal price, doubles it, and sells the product for that price instead.

I have found that mine are very sensitive. I can trigger mine double-tapping the bone right in front of my ear (not touching the AirPods at all).

Really? Is everyone else’s sensitive? Ah man, maybe I’ve just got a slightly duff sensors in mine? I thought everyone’s were like this. That sucks. Ah well, as it’s something I don’t tend to use, I won’t complain too much.

Thanks

They are very similar, to me, they fit identically. I know this sounds strange, but Apple stores do allow a trial fitting if you were interested in AirPods.

You can always try to exchange them under warranty. Maybe wait until after iOS 11 comes out. Mine were always good, but they may have become more sensitive recently. I don't have any way to directly compare.

That’s cool. I appreciate that and assume there’s still the 14 day return period. Can’t see them being as good a fit as the X2. Guess I need to try them. Thanks for the feedback

Absolutely. And you do have 14 days with AirPods just like any other product. If They have a loose fit, Spigen makes a Airpod tip that helps with fit. It's available on Amazon.

Hmm... I bought mine from Best Buy soon after they were released and received within a week. I bought another one for my friend 3 days ago and they are being delivered in 4 days and this is with free, no rush delivery. I wonder how come Best Buy has better inventory and shipping times than Apple.

Why?

You can always use any wired-headphones, just use the converter INCLUDED with the phone. Nothing new.

1. Adapters are ANNOYING and are 100% unnecessary if Apple would just stop making umb decisions.

2. If Apple is truly pushing for wireless audio, they need to be included in box. ESPECIALLY when they're already charging double what they should be charging for the phone.

One likely reason for this is people like me who want to buy AirPods, but who also want to make sure Apple doesn't release a new version on Tuesday. We are holding off purchasing, and thus decreasing demand. If Apple doesn't release a new version, I would expect to see a surge in demand.

I have tried several wireless headphones - like the Motorola Verfe and others.

What a relief after I finally got the airPods. They simply just work. Take 'em out - put them in the ears - tap them twice and music. No interruption. No "press the left button three times within 2.8 seconds to pair them", They just do music. Great. Simply great. And they sound fabulous for what they are. And they don't fall out of your ears.

Ok, one minor flaw: Using them with one of these rubber "skins" make them even fit and sound better. Apple could have tried something like that before releasing them... - maybe in Version2??

Recommendable?: YES, absolutely.

I just picked up a pair yesterday. I love them, but I wish they had a model similar to their old in-ear model with the silicone tips. Ear buds are much more effective with a sealed earpiece, particularly for low-end frequencies.

I'm not sure if it's the same but I've got a pair of the beatsX and find them a great fit. I have two different sized ear canals so being able to have the smallest tip for my left ear and the next size up for my right means they are a great fit.
I'm still deliberating on a pair of these as well though as I'm a sucker for wireless headphones... I'm not just not sold on the design still...

These better be included in the box of a $1000+ cell phone that has no headphone jack.
Since Apple will sell every last unit of the "$1,000+ phone without a headphone jack", without bundling extras, I'd ask you why you think they should be included?

I'm curious about the problems with switching. What do you have to do to make it work?

As a geek i am amazed by these bluetooth devices. they are so small and capable. However, I am happy with my older cabled earpods.
I never have to worry about them falling out while being physically active.
I never have to worry about running out of charge.
I never have to worry about them being so expensive.
Saving money is not a crime.

I don't disagree with the benefits of wired. I still use wired from time to time.
But:
A) I run with them several times a week and they have never even budged. They only came out twice ever and both times were when someone physically smacked them out of my ears (my wife and daughter.) They are (in my wife's words) "a game changer" for running and working out. They are the first buds we ever used this convenient for workouts. It's like they aren't even there (and sometimes I forget they are.)
B) I've never run out of battery, but I've never worn them longer than 3 hours. Honestly, my ears get fatigued if I try to listen to earphones longer. The case charges them fast, too, and holds a lot of charges. You do have to remember to charge the case once in a while.
But they are expensive. I almost had a heart attack one day when I thought they fell out of my pocket. I then remembered I had put them in a bag. Phwew! This is the same reason I used to have a policy of not buying wired buds more than $30/$40 because I didn't want to worry about replacing them.

I wonder this too. Is the improved supply partially due to people holding back if for no other reason than to see what comes out and maybe save he budget?
When people start buying new phones and gifts this fall, the wait times might get longer again if supply hasn't improved enough.

I do not understand why this product is so popular... it Beats me. :D
