Sweet. I've got an Apple gift card I was going to use on some BeatsX's, but I'll wait in line for these instead so I eBay them and make some cash for the Holidays. Fools and their money :D

Hahah. Not at all. I've never been more excited for an Apple product and a lot of people are saying the same thing. Apart from people like you, JELLY.

You've never been more excited over an Apple product than these? I'm not mocking you. I just find these very disappointing. Can't pause, advance, or back up music. It works for some, just not me.

And amplifier. LOL SOME PEOPLE LIKE SOUND QUALITY

at least the gear is every penny worth the 1000. wouldn't expect you (somebody who actually likes the airpods) to understand that at all though
$1000 still ani't ****.
"SOUND QUALITY" is subjective to the end user, just like your price point on what $1000 gets you.
Using caps the way you do to try and emphasize a point just seems like wild flailing and a lack of confidence in your comment.

Whilst I don't have an opinion on the issue either way, just because they have been delayed does not mean they definitely were not rushed.

If some issue came to light in late October, then the 6 weeks they fixed it in pales in comparison to the 3 years the product spent in development. That could be construed as rushing it.

(But from what we've heard the only 'issue' has been scaling the manufacturing, so the whole thing is moot anyway.)

It would help a lot if they were black...
My guess is that next year we will get them in black, gold, and rose gold to match the iPhone. Might even see a Product Red color.

If you don't like the white, definitely avoid the first batch. Colors are surely coming.

rofl guess an HD800 "ain't s***"
How could it be inferred the HD800 were referred to as s***?
Nothing was previously mentioned about HD800s.
You threw out a price point and that's what ain't ****.

With every subsequent post you move the goal post.
First it was "$1000 audio equipment".
Then it was "portable audio"
Now its "HD800s".
Looks like Google was handy for you tonight.
Why don't you Google the amplifier you mentioned and tell us what you got.
I used caps to make fun of the post i quoted. i know i know, reading is hard for some people
It appears more like its hard for you to understand when caps are used in forum post.
Caps in forum post are usually associated with yelling or shouting, never "to make fun of".
In your case it appears to be more like insecurity.

Would serious audiophiles even bother posting the dribble you've posted here or even bother with this thread?

Because they aren't garbage to the people buying them?
They are still overpriced. Regardless of one's opinion of the sound quality and battery life, they cost around the same as some much better products out there. It's more of a fashion product than a "good tool" that just happens to look good (which is what Apple used to be known for)

It's solved then? My only personal experience is trying to get a quality portable solution for wireless speakers for a portable projector last year... everything non-wired (or wifi) was maddening with that fractional delay. It literally induced nausea.

With aptx? That would be genuinely shocking.

I never said I own every apple product

It's ok, english wasn't my first language either

Ha, touched a nerve, eh? Does it matter how many Apple products you own? According to your post, you're still exhibit A. Maybe you should let people who are excited about a very cool product enjoy their purchase and stop with the condescending and vitriolic comments if you don't want to get egg faced, Exhibit A.

I’m pretty sure there will be an AirPod firmware update next month that will strip its ability to tell you how much battery life is left. According to Apple, “It’s just better that way."

I'm always fascinated by those who post fake quotes to make a point they otherwise haven't bothered to articulate.

Ha, touched a nerve, eh?
not really

Does it matter how many Apple products you own?
no

According to your post, you're still exhibit A.
nope, I didn't buy any product from Apple that I didn't feel was worth the money

Maybe you should let people who are excited about a very cool product enjoy their purchase
it's not a very cool product

and stop with the condescending and vitriolic comments if you don't want to get egg faced, Exhibit A.

Lots of cynicism here. Isn't it possible that these are both an extremely cool product and not for everyone? And isn't that a good thing?

Although I would love a non-white color not sure about that. After all the standard EarPods still only come in white after all these years.

My question then is - overpriced relative to what? What other product out there does what the Airpods is currently promising?

I am buying them because of the promise of ease of pairing and connectivity. For me, the best sounding headphones are useless if they are a pain to use. I am perfectly okay with giving up sound quality in exchange for a range of other conveniences.

For starters, the Airpods have their own charging case, so the odds of my wireless headphones running out of battery in the middle of the day is very slim (plus I can monitor the battery life from my iPhone battery widget). The music automatically plays when I wear the Airpods and pause when I remove them. The case allows for easy storage and there aren't any wires dangle around my neck.

I have an Apple Watch which I can use to control the volume, so I am not too bothered by the absence of volume controls on the Airpods.

I am also very much intrigued by the premise of having a pair of "Siri sticks" on my ears and the sort of utility it can enable.

The fallacy in your argument is that you assume only sound quality matters in a pair of headphones and nothing else. I am willing to pay for all these little conveniences which take the friction out of using these headphones in public.
