The wifelet & I have spent a considerable amount of money getting everything in black/and dark space grey for MacBook and gold for all her devices. I thought the gold color was a big seller for them. I don't see why they would not include that color option.

In addition, a company with their resources could not at least just shave a tiny bit off the top and bottom bezel on the 7S and 7SPlus. I don't think a "very" small reduction in just top bezel for those phones would at all impact sales of the 8 Pro, and then ALL the new phones would truly be all new in design.

:)

No rose gold is a bummer, but they could be holding out red and rose gold for 2018 models in order to entice upgrades, which could work.

An iPhone 8S in Blue, Red and Rose Gold options would help sales after this year's expected "super cycle." Especially for those who are holding onto their iPhone 6S or 7 for another year.

Pro-sumer way of thinking:
Apple: at least 5 years of software support, international warranty

Accountant way of thinking:
Samsung: Warranty only valid in country of origin, ~2 years of software support at best, same price as Apple

To each his own.

What are you smoking that I'm not?
"Samsung, same price as Apple"?

Samsung Galaxy S8 costs €630 in EU, while the standard iPhone 7 32GB costs €769.

Samsung offers better battery life, IP68, better cameras, facial recognition, iris scanner, larger screen, OLED, VR, QI-charging, Fast charging (included in the box), includes €100 AKG earbuds, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port and lower price.

Btw, I travel a lot and most countries I visit don't even have Apple stores, which makes international warranty utterly useless!
However, I can agree with you on IOS, but that doesn't justify the high price of the iPhones which are always behind the cheaper competitor. No wonder Apple is loosing customers in China, because companies like Oppo, Huawei or Xiaomo are offering better phone with a significantly lower price!

I'm probably in the minority but I like the notch. It looks very distinctive. I like that overall outline. I'm not focused on disguising it as some other people seem to be. I think the camera bump looks good, too. I had to get used to the new orientation, but I think the lenses look nicely framed. If that's an accurate model, I'm quite happy with it. I can't wait to own one.

I think most people will be surprised how quickly they like the contrasting notch design.

Blending in the notch puts it in the same category as any other black slate Android phone, which means no identity for the OLED iPhone.

Why wait for production to start to late? Apple should have started back in July

Well we did see how it worked out for Samsung o_O rushing into production with the Note 7.
 Burned down Cars, Homes, Pants, Bags, Flights had to land or got delayed  because of it.
People woke up in smoke, Kids got burned some even their faces because it blew up in front of/near them.

:apple: There was an issue with the Fingerprint sensor that took more time to get solved :).
I'd rather wait till they're done and get a working product than a half-baked Note 7 fiasco .

We will see. I suspect the folks in China might simply be waiting for a new form factor, so the iPhone 8 could see another mega-upgrade cycle.

Oof. I DO NOT want a glossy black after seeing what happened to the last set when in use (I am careful but not anal and I WILL scratch it). Also not keen on a white face. Not a deal breaker I guess but.... WHY?!

EDIT: I guess the thing is glass? I am better with that. Loved the iPhone 4. False alarm lol

I imagine it's a matter of not being ready. One cannot mass produce something if they don't have the prototype dialed in and/or materials to build it out of. I realize Apple is huge and so it's crazy to think about, but they are still limited by supply and their own ability to engineer a (close to) flawless product.

Did you have to reiterate/rehash what everyone already knows.......sheer hyperbole

Why would they have to increase the price? You keep addressing the consumer perspective with a business answer. Are you and Apple related somehow? Cousins maybe?:p:D We've already acknowledged that charging for the charger makes sense from a business perspective.

"Not everyone cares about..." could be used on every feature of the iPhone and it still wouldn't suffice as justification for anything really. If charging overnight was the only use case scenario, you might have a point. Since it obviously isn't, I'm sure you could come up with multiple instances where a fast charge would be an advantage.
Heh, no relation to Apple :) Nope looking at it from their point of view as they make the phone and the pricing.
In the 90's I sent a letter to see if it would get to STEVE, STEVE JOBS @ APPLE.com and it got to him and he replied!
I was complaining about the prices of macs and he said I was very rude! Not sure if i still have it.

Ok, no headphone jack.
No Home Button or Fingerprint reader.
Close to or over $1000.00.

Still going to buy one.

Wait. Only 3 colors? No RED!!!!??? OR SPACE GREY?????

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! I'M GOING TO TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

Hah its like the old fords, you can have any color you want as long as its black!

About not including a fast charger, Apple should copy Nintendo and not even include a normal charger/cable. Current Nintendo handhelds (3ds xl) don't include a charger, with the assumption the buyer already had one from one of their past handhelds (and if not, they can be bought separately).

Apple could spin it as for the environment. They can make the packaging even thinner.

Don't believe a word of it.... so many contradicting constantly changing rumours and leaks from ALL SOURCES this year, personally I think Apple has been very very very careful and controlled leaks and rumours on purpose and we will not know the truth until next month.
I believe every word; this particular analyst has a near perfect record

They're nixing gold and rose gold and going with this copper crap?

Not down with that one.

The other two look nice sorta

Still an iPhone 6.5 with a vertical 7Plus camera tho :(

I'm amazed why nobody thinks:

1. The vertical stacked camera module looks ugly and out of place
2. The black module and the silver rim around it on the non-black colors looks uglier and even more out of place
3. This is not really a new design/form factor - at least externally, it's the exact same as the iPhone 6
4. The top notch is anything but 'top notch' - no pun intended

When Steve Jobs rejoined, he focused on SKU rationalization - this year, we will officially have an iPhone SE, iPhone 6 (for sale in some countries), iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus, and iPhone 8 - well done.

Don't forget about us 7S losers :D

I expect the 7S to still have a fingerprint reader and a home button. And hopefully it won't be $1000. So eliminating MAH CULLERZ is disappointing :( Still buying one though.

If by always you mean the one time that it ever happened ever, then yes.
Ok. My mistake.
Was the iPhone 7 the only red iPhone they ever released?
Try to google it but couldn’t find anything.

It’s so they can release blue and light purple halfway through the cycle like the RED phone

First, There was reason behind the Product Red iPhone. The other reason for the release was to keep the iPhone refreshed in terms of sales.

Also, a "light purple" iPhone seems highly unlikely and not in Apple's color pallet.
