I hope it will not be a replacement. I don't like the idea of carrying a charging pad while traveling. But would wireless charging be a replacement to traditional wired charging, or would it be an option in addition to wired?

I doEvery single year apple bringing new model but how can anyone change their phone every year? Atleast I can't do it.
Well my comment was based on the assumption it would be some sort of charging pad type device. I agree wireless charging at a distance would qualify as being a bit "magical", haha.If it's long range (~10ft from the power brick) then it will indeed be "magical". If it's the same old matt-based ******** you'll get a collective "meh".
We'll just make the battery smaller. /sThis will make phones bigger and heavier.
Not sure I would like the idea of NO lightning (or usb-c, whatever) charging port. So, there will be a 7s, a 7s+ this year, which still have the physical home button and the lightening port. Then, there is the third model "iPhone X", which has no lightening port, no home button, no edge, and priced at $880, $990 and $1100?
Yep and all those people on Apple's yearly upgrade plan will ONLY be able to upgrade 7sand 7s+So, there will be a 7s, a 7s+ this year, which still have the physical home button and the lightening port. It was with Palm 6-7 years ago.
Could be their demographic doesn't care about wireless charging?A company I work with just developed a new wireless charging station and created wireless charging adapters for iPhones as well as Android. It's ridiculous how easy it was to implement. Components are so thin, it's simply basic stuff. The fact that iPhones still don't over wireless charging is just odd.
Maybe Apple wouldn't sell as many cables and dongles? I don't know.
How is KGI right so many times? Are they straight up just predicting?
For me, it works on the principle of the "hand me down" program. By now, every immediate member of my family benefited from this program and they all get a newer phone every one or two years.Every single year apple bringing new model but how can anyone change their phone every year? Atleast I can't do it.
Imagine if unicorns bought me the winning lottery ticket every day....Imagine if it's charged via WiFi. Or via cellular.

I'm one of them! Plug it in at night, done!
I would rather have them spend their resources on other tech, literally just about anything!
An excerpt from Kuo's research note obtained by MacRumors:The new 3D Touch module could be up to $5 more expensive for Apple to procure per phone. While that is a minimal increase, it lends further credence to a report claiming the high-end iPhone 8 could cost upwards of $1,000 in the United States due to a significant redesign and the use of premium parts.
Yes, this is my question as well. Personally, I'd rather have a little USB power cube and a cable than to have to lug around a pad of some size (mouse pad? track pad?) and thickness. Obviously, I don't know much about the wireless/wi-fi charging technology.I wonder hoe Apple will do this wireless charging, I can't see them following the route of others like Samsung where you have to put the phone on a mat to it to charge, I think they will have come up with a better way of doing it.

Only I get the newest![]()
