What else would there be? Seems to me the only two logical edges to a phone would be rounded or squared off. Unless you’re proposing some sort of diagonal slant?
I suppose you could have front to back asymmetry. Maybe curved at the back and squared at the front, like the Siri Remote or iPod Touch?

Idk, there is no phone today that doesn’t have a notch unless it has huge bezels. The poster seems a little out of touch with reality.

Samsung???

And Apple should be held to a high standard. Think Steve Jobs. He wouldn’t think my desires are out of touch would he? I think not

You forgot fry eggs.

I can fry my own eggs. We’re just asking for no notch etc!

I'm the customer. Creating new designs for iPhones isn't my job.
That’s a cop out. Means you don’t have a better idea.

This may be the first generation that didn't have to pass the seal of approval of Jony Ive. If Jony wanted rounded edges- then that's how it was going to be- year after year after year after ...
Didn’t the iPad Pro happen on his watch?

Naturally design is totally subjective, but although I love the iPhone 4 as the best industrial design Apple ever made, I've always felt the humble 5C had the best ergonomic design. A soft rounded back where your palm rests and squared front which let the screen run closer to the edge.

Of course everyone hated it because it was 'cheap and plastic', but in my opinion the functionality of it was excellent.

My X is already blazing fast and takes good enough pics. Hard to imagine the 12 being worth it. My phone before that was a 6 so the update was significant. Not sure what it’s going to take nowadays for me to bother. I like 120Hz on bigger screens but it honestly makes very little difference to me on my phone.

I feel like next year is THE year with Apple rumored to drop the Lightning connector.

Samsung has a hole punch which is just another type of notch so no.
Yes but a a lot more screen estate

So we can remove the the slimmer bezels and smaller notch rumors
In one month we will remove the promotion rumor Also

Well, if that’s the case then the notch is still the same size. At least Apple is finally catching up on making the border bezels around the phone slightly thinner. At least there’s a slight improvement. It seems to take Apple like 2-3 years to catch up to other manufacturers.

When will it be the case again that Apple blows away people with their design? It seems it has been ages. Since so many years other manufacturers like Samsung are making better hardware design innovations while Apple is lagging behind.

Samsung, Oppo, Huawei and co will probably have fullscreen phones next year with camera tech under the screen while Apple will still have that nasty notch for another 3-4 years perhaps.

These are not iPhone 12 molds. It’s the iPhone 13 prototypes. Wireless, portless, screenless, chipless, the perfection.

Wow if that’s the case WTF. iPhone 13 and still looks like that with huge notch and thick border bezels?

Nothing radical when compared to XS Max & 11 Pro Max which I have. Except for 5G and camera improvements I don’t see big changes. Even 5G in my country would take minimum one year considering the present conditions. All in all skip worthy upgrade this year.

It still resembles older designs that were no longer desirable (for them).

except for the screen - way bigger, and the cameras - way bigger. Looks similar, but not the same. The only reason they change the design ever is for those with short attention spans who need the new and get bored.

see all the comments “I won’t buy an iPhone6sssss”

So is the smaller iPhone gonna have wide-angle camera or not? All the rest are bigger than the current XS, right?

Not saying this is a bad thing but I feel like the Apple is just recycling enclosures at this point - first it was the rounded (3G, 3Gs) enclosure then to the flat/squared enclosure (4, 5), back to rounded (6, 7, 8, X, XS) and now we arrive back to flat/squared again (12)

theres only so many ways to design as phone lol.

Their research on under-screen TouchID isn’t completed yet. Such a shame! I will keep my iPhone 7 until then...

The 4/4s design was the best design, except this time the glass should be inset into the stainless frame. Perfect.

I wish I had waited for the 6.7" 12 instead of buying the 11 Pro Max.
Exactly how I feel. It was a design that was at the limitation of technology at the time. With flush mounted glass this should be the most durable iPhone ever made. It shouldn’t hit the glass no matter how it is dropped just the frame.

Still has a notch and that ugly ass camera? Is Apple even trying anymore!!

keeping my 8 another year lol

What they are doing is working that’s for sure and ugly camera? Get used to it...for great cameras it is needed.
