The camera house is weird. It doesn't look like an Apple design.

We all thought and said that about the iPhone X too yet here we are. I still dislike this pro type leak suggesting this ugly camera just like you though.

At this point I think it's fair to say things have solidified around this design so 99% this is what we're getting in September... I hope the Camera performance is worth it for that huge carbuncle of a bump on the back!

Sadly I think this year Apple is playing catch-up to the current androids if ultrawide is the only thing the third camera will bring.

Recall the iPhone 7 camera prototype that had a larger bulge around the single camera va what we got (more refined)? I actually preferred that blue flat colour and bulge, not on this 2019 prototype leak yuck!

I don’t care about the camera. But no USB-C = no buy. Your move, Apple.

I keep seeing this yet why the need for this port?

- adds more bulk to the phone or thickness (very minimal but still there.
- without the gain in data transfer speeds (and below) this port has no use.
- without faster than 7.5W charging again USB-C is useless.

Is it just for one cable complaint? Solution USB-C to lightning cable and you’re done. USB-C charging block - Apple already has done.

Next if Apple gave you USB-C cable for iPhone you’ll be complaining that not all chargers or cables support rapid charging or data throughputs even if they are labelled USB-C!

That’s great and all but the camera is in the upper right corner. When I put the phone in my left hand and thumb on the volume button... the camera is covered by my first two fingers.

Also, why would anyone design for people holding a phone in their left hand va holding a phone in their right hand, which is much more common around the world?

Great question taking in consideration that:

The estimated percentage of left handed people across the globe is 8-15%, with most figures studies suggesting it is 10-12%.

Taking the average of 11%, this would mean that 836,000,000 people are left handed across the globe, out of a population of 7.6 billion.

Yup, that's why I skipped the iPhone 7 and then ultimately went to an s8, then note 8, now s10+ . Makes iPhones look like well, dated

The. Why are you hear talking about an iPhone rumor leak? You don’t use an iPhone any longer nor care so why?

And not all right-handed people are try righters: I hold hockey stick, bat, and tennis racket as a lefty.

As if Androids will not copy Apple design.
Yeah they already did "copy Apple's design" since last year.
These Android copycats sure are fast.

Most are, pure and simple and you could use this argument for left handed people as well so I don't see it's point.

Can someone remind me why Apple decided to use Lightning rather than going with standards? Is it truly a self money motivated decision?

USB-C wasn’t a standard at time iPhone 5 was released. It was still being ratified.

The point is/was holding the phone is a preference per person. Camera location in either side is not determined by populace right/left handed.

How do you think apple makes money? By shaking their money tree?

Honestly I think Apple does that mean they’re on stage every WWDC aren’t they?! ;)

Apple worked hard as hell to move that connective hardware to the outside of iPhones and into the Lightning cable: they are notoriously obsessive about the foreign components included on iPhone's logic board. Plus, like it or not, lightning is technically a more advanced and more flexible connector that reduces the internal complexity of iPhone. I'd say that is the biggest hold up here.

Considering the iPad Pro required additional chips (e.g. the PI3DPX1205A) on the logic board to support USB-C video out, I'd say you'll be holding your breath for quite awhile waiting for iPhone to get USB-C.
No it's not. The Lightning connector in iphones is capable of USB 2.0 performance for example.

I much prefer lightening. It’s a more compact and more robust connector. I’d rather have them remove the physical port altogether, and support faster wireless charge (15W).

Why not the p20 copied the iPhone X/Xs camera last year and the p30 continued this year.

Yes it is, the wast majority of people are right handed and take picture with their right hand.
Far more left handed people adapt to use their right hand as often as possible than the right handed people doing the same thing.

I doesn't look like a copy at all.
Not to mention P30 Pros camera which is also quite different

Well thank you for showing one more time how Huawei's implementation is different. You didn't have to.

Yup much more elegant.

In what way? I don't see how a picture with Apple's big camera hump supports in any way your claim.

one step forward 3 steps back only with apple. because they know as long as they put the logo on the phone the sheep will always buy

Or maybe it’s because people enjoy the products?

People don’t buy apple products just for the logo. It’s how the devices work so well is what pulls people in to keep buying the products.

If people buy the iPhone 11 and the back looks ugly it will be due to what the device does that pulls people to buy the device. Nothing to do really with being apple sheep

So many salty tears in this thread!! I love when things like this come out as it brings out the complainers.
To each their own I say. Apple can't please everyone. I will say I would prefer a thicker phone for larger battery and flush lenses BUT those of you that are complaining about the camera bump now were probably also complaining about the thickness of the phone when the lens was flush.

I don't mind the notch... I don't really ever look at the back of my phone..... My Xmax kicks butt and does everything I need it to do when I want it done. Great job Apple and keep up the great work!!

Must be a reason Huawei’s cfo was caught with an iPhone, an iPad, and a MacBook, Might be standard issue enterprise equipment for c level executives at Huawei.

That’s the thing about elegance and design either you can see it or you can’t.

The phone simply works as if it didn’t even have a passcode. Your passwords are instantly loaded. Touch ID requires an extra step that, believe me, starts to bother once you get used to the feeling of freedoms of Face ID.
Quick question, do you use a phone with Face ID, by any chance?!
Nope, still like my iPhone 8 very much. Played around with iPhone X and XS at Apple store and did not like it. Always decided to wait for the next generation, that hopefully would have a better design. As it looks by now, this will be the same procedure with the upcoming XI.

What copy? Huawei introduced the two vertical lenses in a pill shaped bump in 2016 with the Mate 9.
Although yeah the P20 Pro has three lenses not two like the Mate 9.

That’s the thing about elegance and design either you can see it or you can’t.
I see everything just fine, I'm just amused by you total inability to support your point of view.
How exactly is it much more elegant? I bet you can't produce a reasonable examination.

Mate 9 looked nothing like the iPhone X, Never said it did.

But the p20 is a copy of the iPhone X and a poor one at that. But your having trouble seeing that as well, not very surprised.

Couldn’t they at least copy the fact the the iPhone x doesn’t have a bottom bezel. Poor copy none the less.

If you can’t see why the iPhone XS is more elegant than the p20 or p30, words wont make much difference.

You specifically said: two vertical lenses in a pill shaped bump
That's exactly what the Mate 9 had when it was launched.

Well thank you for proving my point. Again.
Like I've said, you are incapable of supporting your claim.

Can I ask why? What exactly are you getting by iPhone switching to USB-C?
Because people who have the new iPad Pro has to carry 2 different cables thanks to stupid lightning. And USB-C has broader compatibility (MacBooks, Nintendo switch...etc)

You keep bringing up the mate 9. It’s camera Sensors were in the middle of the device and looked like a flat wide pill. The p20 looks like a copy of the iPhone X and nothing like the mate 9 from the front or back. The notch and rear camera placement are a dead giveaway.
Have another look. It seems to be going over your head.
