My iPhone 6s Plus lasts like 3 days on single charge

3 days? wow!
Mine lasts all day (from 6:30am to 10pm), and there is a good 10%/15% left. And I am constantly listening to music, watching youtube videos, doing work, facebooking, playing chess and such. Seriously a big step up from my 5S.

Honestly, since I got my 6S+ battery life is among the last of my concerns.

My point is that there are plenty of useful things they could have done with that millimetre of thickness. Among those things is to improve battery life, which some people would find useful (certainly more useful to most people than making an already thin device even thinner).

Another use would be to shave space off the other dimensions, particularly to reduce the size of the bezels. For example they could have taken almost an inch off the height of the phone and still kept the same internal volume as losing a millimetre of thickness. A phone that is an inch shorter (but with the same screen size) would be a much better practical gain to most people than shaving a millimetre off the thickness.

I know it is probably not as simple as that, but it seems odd to make the device thinner just for the sake of it when there are bigger issues with the design that need fixing first. I'm just hoping that they fix the bezel sizes as well as make it thinner.

I'm not sure the discssuion of the "antenna" lines on the iPhone 6/6S is entirely accurate. The "antenna" lines that run across the back of the iPhone 6/6S are not functional. Only the very top/bottom antenna lines that follow the silhouette of the device are functional antenna lines. This is easily corroborated by looking at the internals of the back casing:

Notice the plastic separators are only for the very top and bottom chins of the device. Internally the entire back of the device is one piece of aluminum. All this to say, there was no electrical function to those antenna lines that are being removed in the iPhone 7. So not much engineering was required to remove them.

WE NEED AN ENTIRELY NEW CASE, THE 6/6S' DESIGN SUCKED, PLEASE APPLE, DON'T REUSE THE SAME DESIGN AND JUST MAKE IT A MILLIMETER THIN :(

I'm actually really pleased that Apple has settled into a consistent design (like it has with its MacBooks, iMacs, et cetera). I admit, it isn't as exciting as releasing a new design every other year, but a frequently-changing design gives the vibe that Apple is unsure of what a good design would be, and this is not consistent with Apple's image. This new, consistent design comes across as 'We are confident that this is a good design, so we are not going to change the design just for the sake of changing it,' and that makes me excited for Apple!

[doublepost=1457944092][/doublepost]Does anyone else find it ironic we are looking at a future phone on a Windows XP desktop ?

It's Windows 7.

This!

I know a common complaint is "Apple's designs used to stand out, and now they just look like every other phone". People saying comments like this fail to realise it's because most companies have made their phones look like the iPhone. And now Apple should change just for the sake of being different?

the principle of the 4 series was that the antenna band was a strip around the edge, which performed double duty as structural and functional. Apples peak of design.

The 5 series diluted this somewhat by trying to make the whole thing an aluminium tray, a solution to the glass back fragility.

The 6 series just repackaged the exact design principe of the 5, with a curvy shape and making it (subjectively) uglier. It also ironically made the glass front much more fragile.

If this is legitimate, the 7 series will be so far removed from the original design intent, that they should seriously just start again.

1-3 was classic metal. 4-5 was ugly as hell. Cheapest LG models looked better
1 was metal with a plastic bottom. 3 and 3G were plastic. Not sure where the classic metal comes from.

Repeat after me -
We need:
1. Bigger battery and more battery life
2. Better camera
3. Everything else is a bonus (Surprise us Apple)
I agree on the camera, I'm fine with my battery life. My phone usually lasts a day and a half before I charge.

If removing the headphone jack can free up space for relocating 3d touch sensor and that additional space can fit a bigger battery I'm all for it. I believe the 6splus has the haptic feedback sensor next to the home button.
On a different note, if that is the new space grey color, I'm digging it!

I feel like they are holding back the hardware every year.
Have you consulted a doctor about that? Because they clearly don't. The only thing that's changed is everything is their current slogan, because they did improve upon everything hardware-wise*.

*Miracles not included.

You are definitely in the minority. The 3g/3gs was the ugliest (because of the curves and plastic) with the 4 and 5 the best. You must like cheap looking phones. If so stick with Samsung and LG.

I am sure that you know this, but you don't NEED to get a new phone in order to continue with ATT Next. Next or some other program will be around to when you want to get a new unit. If the 7 doesn't have what is useful to you, why be disappointed AND be on the hook for another 16 months, or whatever, of payments? Just take a break from the upgrade cycle and put the money you'd otherwise pay in the bank. That way, when the 7S, or 8 or rolls around you'll be that much further down the road to paying it off if you decide to take the leap. I am on the 6 now and am seeing nothing that is compelling me to upgrade. But I will wait and see what the final package has to offer.

EXACTLY! NEXT actually gives you a benefit for having that paid off phone. I'll happily take the $37/month and sit tight rather than upgrade just to upgrade.

Under the old system you paid the same 'subsidized' monthly rate if you upgraded or not....

Indeed, Apple changes the two things no one has been asking for.

Make it a bit thinner
Remove the headphone jack

I've not seen any lines of protesters demanding either of these.
Sadly I think Apple is still of the opinion that "IT" know's what you should do and be using, Mother knows best.

Well, it is APPLE'S product. They're going to do what THEY think makes the best product. That's sort of their job. If you don't like it, go get the product development talent to become an executive at Apple, and then you might have more influence in the future direction of their products.

Otherwise, you can do what consumers do. If you like a product, go buy it. If you don't like a product, don't buy it. Apple will get the message based off that, if enough people agree with you.

But considering this isn't a PRODUCT yet, and is merely a rumored CAD file for an aluminum enclosure of an unreleased product, it's kind of hard to judge whether or not you'll like it. I would think someone would like to hear the full story, before making a purchasing decision.

yawn.
looks like it will be as slippery as the 6/6s.

i held the new galaxy s7 over the weekend.
hate the front, but the back curves really do make a difference with the in-hand feel
