Way too early to think about another phone that's coming out 6 months from now. Apple could easily shift designs. It's not like they have one device concept from start to finish.

They have a finalized design at the very least 6 months in advance, because it takes nearly that long to set up the manufacturing process for these phones. There are hundreds of millions of them.

The accurate design leaks of the past have also come out around this time.

So if it works and it's old we should just get rid of it because...it's old.

Because there is more practical away of connecting. The one that does not involve wires coming out of your pockets, t-shirt, around your neck and down your ears. Quality may be questionable currently but wireless is the future and 3.5mm is going to be a history and there is no question about it.

Design-wise, it's a 6ss. So I hope hardware and software will have something worthy of a 7. I am glad the 2 lines near top/bottom of the back will be gone. They were the ugliest things ever and they persisted since 5. Btw the other day I had an opportunity to hold the original iPhone - Holy crap, that thing was a brick! LOL

Would you rather have the second speaker or the jack? that seems to be the trade off. Current iPhone already have bluetooth and audio out via lightning

I make the same argument about wireless charging and people tell me it's a gimmick. I say, to each his own. ANyone that wants wireless headphones can have had them for quite some time now. Literally nobody stopping them. I suppose it's all a matter of perspective and what matters most to the individual. IMO there isn't a right answer here because we don't know exactly what is happening yet. It reamins to be seen what we gain to accompany the loss.

How are stereo speakers going to help the iPhone 7 sell? They're both rumored to be on the bottom in portrait orientation which is going to do nothing for watching videos and playing most games. Being so small and poor quality, spaced barely an inch apart is going to provide neglible spatial separation, and performance. Stereo speakers are the one addition that would turn me against the removal of the headphone jack, since it would be a horrible waste of that reclaimed space, indefensible against the competition's current offerings.

Just out of curiosity, under what circumstances do you see stereo speakers on an iPhone making a substantial difference to someone? Has this really been on the list of must haves a majority of customers have been demanding for the past 9 years? If so, this is the first I'm hearing about it.

Past reviews have stated that there were no stereo speakers available on the iPhone and they claimed that to be a bad thing. Some people use them, some don't. It isn't a feature I care about but some will. If they are removing the headphone jack then why not put them in there since they can. I also added it in to making the iPhone 7 sell because it is just another feature to differentiate it from the 6. They are removing the headphone jack regardless if they add stereo speakers or not but adding them to the phone seems like they are adding yet another feature to the "new" phone.

Samsung´s Galaxy line has been constant in design language for the past 5 years. The only notable difference is the edge, which is a side-step from their flagship model that essentially looks the same as 4 years ago.
You mean like this? every review its saying besides the edge phone, Samsung designs are the same
Not saying Apple needs to follow the same pattern but I don't what folks are expecting or needing to see

People wanted revolution, not another slippery evolution. This is what the 6s should have looked like.

Not even. The classic iPhone 4 BRAUN inspired design was perfect.
Ok if it has to be thinner to please Jony fine, but stay with the 4 design.

I don't understand why something that was perfect has to be changed.
Just to please a few eggheads with short attention span
who always need something new?

And, put that off button back where it belongs naturally: on the top.
(As in form follows function.)

Since I am probably keeping the Next program would get the 7. But, would be disappointed if we had no headphone jack and no dual speakers. I don't like bluetooth earphones. With one speaker I can put the iPhone in my holder on dash and hear fairly well. Dual should be fairly good. I disliked the bluetooth earphones enough to buy a cassette adapter, plug it into iPhone and play thru my, very good, car audio system. Sounds real good that way.

We had a square like shape phone for 4 years. iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S. I like it, looks a better than 6/6S. I really don't care how it looks. All I want is them to reduce the bezels on the screen and give me a black phone I'm tired of the space grey or a gold back iPhone with a black front.

I am sure that you know this, but you don't NEED to get a new phone in order to continue with ATT Next. Next or some other program will be around to when you want to get a new unit. If the 7 doesn't have what is useful to you, why be disappointed AND be on the hook for another 16 months, or whatever, of payments? Just take a break from the upgrade cycle and put the money you'd otherwise pay in the bank. That way, when the 7S, or 8 or rolls around you'll be that much further down the road to paying it off if you decide to take the leap. I am on the 6 now and am seeing nothing that is compelling me to upgrade. But I will wait and see what the final package has to offer.
