Another clever fake put out my Apple's misdirection marketing dept.

I can't wait to see all the real things they are going to be launching in a few weeks time to blow us all away ;)

I do sure hope you are right. Feeling so underwhelmed with the leaks. I hope you are right.

What a stupid looking plug... Seriously... Those contacts being exposed like that are gonna be scratched, scuffed, whathaveyou... And it'll be so easy to just be touching something and short out...

exactly ... I doubt this cable is real, unless there would be a cap (which I'm sure I'd lose on day 2)

Change is good.

Looks fine to me. The march of progress goes on. Hopefully it will offer capabilities beyond what the current connector offers, like USB 3.0 speeds, better charging capabilities, in addition to making the device thinner and lighter. A necessary change, but a good one. Third-party manufactures will adapt, they always do.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Apple will sell a zillion of these upcoming iPhones, regardless of this dock connector change.

Another thought: everyone always desires a redesign of the iPhone, but it seems like people don't want this change. Why is that? It's a tweak that will (hopefully) make the device better.

Why are people so delusional. Actual hardware has never leaked that didn't end up being the production device. All those tapered iphone 5 rumors were just drawings, no actual hardware leaked. Not the case this time.

This cable is horrible. On so many levels (yes, some of those levels are purely because I didn't get my way xD )

Hmmm, that's why there's a headphone jack on the bottom now. New connectors with have two sturdy things holding it in place. Even better than 30 pin.

Oh that's just asking for broken male headphone jacks on accessories.

That's sleek. Too bad they're not doing Thunderbolt or FireWire, but I wasn't expecting it.

I dont like the long white part after the adapter. Kinda like how it was on the older ipod cables before they slimmed it down. they should of slimmed this one down to start since thats kind of the whole reason for the new adapter.

It _almost_ looks like the Dock2 connector is designed to slide into the long white area behind it ... like some of the USB thumb drive designs. That would explain the large white plastic area behind the exposed connector and give it some protection when not in use.

That does seem a little counter to Apple's normally simple designs. Maybe it slides in automatically and is pulled out using a Mag[net]-like design.

:D

Apple new product mania never ceases to amaze me. 139 replies just for a friggin new cable lol. I would be more interested if it was confirmed the cable was USB 3.0.

Can apple announce the official keynote already? haha

(I'm sure I've said that in past iphone rumor threads, I'm just that excited!!) :D:D:eek:

Why not just USB?

Anyone know...why couldn't Apple just make the port on the iPhone a plain ole USB port? Why create yet another interface?
