maybe these are legit, but just very preliminary design concepts (remember that article a while back about apples design and product selection process?) thats my feeling, so maybe we some aspects that will be included in the next revision but i cant imagine apple allowing any info like this leak (true it happens) but in such poor design? i dunno i keep going back and forth on this one. cant wait to see what arn says is fishy

I think they might be real. We will see. Why else would Apple pull them, but not pull all the other mockups we have seen so far? What makes these so special? I think we all know...

Yeah, they were so ugly that they defamed Apple's name.

Hence the name "Rumors" we're sharing information we found that could lead to something. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

The fact that Apple Legal asked the pages be pulled could mean many things, again as theheadguy said, we speculate.

Did Apple Legal pull them? Or the guy that posted them? Do we have proof of that?

I really think some guy has us in their twisted joke. It's doesn't take brain surgery to realize that internet junkies like us will clling to anything that happens on Apple's site. If it goes down we get excited like something new is coming out.... WTHell?

Some guy or gal is posting bad mockups using their Apple.com account, then they pulled them off expecting just this kind of reaction. ;)

If anyone wants to look at this in more detail, here it is. And someone with better tools than I have, would it be possible to zoom in and filter where the respective "MacBook" and "MacBook Pro" words should be? Because on the MacBook Pro (with black bezel) it looks too small, or something.

Assuming they're real, does the black border mean all MBPs will be glossy just like the Alu iMac?

It might be me, but I thought the base looked very slightly thinner compared to the current MPB.

Where does it say Apple Legal had these removed like people keep saying? I just see that MR removed them.

But it seemed like someone just randomly stumbled upon the images, and if that's the case, how would the person be able to pull them so quickly?

If that happens then I'm peacing Apple. I HATE glossy screens.

Since the Xserve RAID was in the shot with a whole lotta Tiger backgrounds I am not too sure about this rumor.

All Apple icons, even with Leopard, use the Tiger background. I said this before.

Notice that's the same Xserve image. The images you see are in the same style as those images. Compare for yourself!

Considering the original remark said "at request of Apple Legal" and unless MR was hacked someone at MR wrote that, it would assume since most of us do NOT have the ability to create news items let alone edit them, at the time of my post, it STILL said "at request of Apple Legal" hence it was safe to assume THEY did request they be pulled and MR pulled them AT their request.

Now it says something else so WHO KNOWS what happened. Personally I don't care why they got pulled, the images are still out on the net for peoples viewing pleasure. I'm patiently waiting for an update and don't resort to "BLA BLA I HATE THE DESIGN, I LOVE THE DESIGN" etc flame thread here.

But the home page did earlier say "at request of Apple Legal" so unless you have the ability to know different, MR removed them at their request. Unless arn has unearthed something really bad.

Haha funny how so many people need to believe there is something going on here and that it's not just a hoax. I guess maybe it's the only thing to bring a little excitement to an otherwise boring and useless day in the life of some losers.

Is there anything on that site that isn't related to a rumor story that is currently circulating? Everything from the subscription iTunes to the Mac Mini refresh, from the Aluminum MacBook to the 3G iPhone. If it's been even casually mentioned in a rumor story recently, it has magically come true on this site. Wow what a coincidence. And if that's not enough, lets ignore all of the mistakes and oversights on the part of the creator. Let's ignore that we've already seen the source for one of the images on the site.

All of this nonsense is much more likely than someone just finding a way to post this site using an apple.com address. The most complicated explanation is usually the right one... if you're bored and have nothing else to do.

The same way they put them up I guess. I am sure somebody at Apple doesn't have a job anymore... either the person that posted the fake images.... or Johnathan Ive because these new models are FUGLY to the highest extent of ugliness.

I mean, picture the ugliest thing possible on earth... yeah horrible isn't it? Well these designs, if real, will be even uglier in person.

Yeah, but like with most icons, they were made way back with Panther or earlier. They have the blue Tiger background because it's been here since Puma.
