If it so much as had an apple.com email address, it was proprietary information and Apple could ask to have it pulled.

Agree.. according to the account info from ARN it came from an apple account, so even if it would have been a picture of my bum with a black bezel around it and new keyboard, they would have pulled it, since it obviously generates some waves in the communities that matter...

ps.. I would post a picture, but I have copyright on my bum..

You sound like a regular Demi. :D

Apple will want any images pulled even if they are fake. That is what keeps people guessing. For all we know Apple has 10 different mock ups and all of them might be legit even if they never see the light of day.

You're right, but even an Apple mockup would have been better than these...

Does no one else see how tacky the 17" MBP looks?

yea it would stand to reason that they don't want fake pics out starting a colossal spread of bs.

Yea, I wouldn't even consider one of those.

Where does it say Apple Legal had these removed like people keep saying? I just see that MR removed them.

For a few minutes it said that it was removed at the request of Apple legal. But then Arn changed it to say "something fishy, investigating now" or whatever it says.

If that happens then I'm peacing Apple. I HATE glossy screens.

Yup, and if this does happen then nothing but the ACD's will Matte. And I bet those will be made Glossy eventually as well.

Removed for now. Investigating. Something not quite right... suspect an elaborate hoax.

Someone faked a Cease and Desist letter, not to mention the entire site? That's not smart.

Maybe this was just some dude working at apple that used photoshop to draw some pictures of the new MBP´s and MB´s that he has seen Steve carrying around. He got passed for promotion for failing to incorporate a black bezel and new keyboard on the ipod shuffle and decided its payback time..

Seriously folks.. Not everyone at Apple is a design artist and knows how to use design software. It could just as well have been some innocent doodling on Steve´s time that by accident got out in the open...

And many of those catch fire after even normal use.

I now have the mental image of a flaming rodent sitting next to a mac.

It'd still probably be more useful than my damned Mighty Mouse though.

I have that image as well. Comical!

Two things.

1. The pics are back up! Apple legal change their minds?
2. Did anyone notice that the Digg article on this got removed? It was there, had 200 some diggs and several comments. Now it's gone.

Sounds to me like someone tried to fake the whole thing, submitted the site themselves, and then tried to fake a Cease and Desist letter from Apple to try and lend the story some credibility. How sad (for the person).

Oh Junk.... there is more

Check this out.... there was another photo that no one else got to see that appeared on an Apple certified website for 0.1 secs before Apple Legal Action Team took it down. It's the new 40" Cinema Display.

crap.jpg

Unfortunately all evidence besides this amazingly accurate photo exist. It must be true since it looks so cool, it has a Leopard background, and looks just like everything else.

Any flickr or picasa site, where we can find screenshots from the website or pictures. Can only find the macbook and pro. Thanks.. :)
