Hey Arn

Are you going to get one of those letters from Apple asking you to reveal your sources?

False or not Apple may want to fry this guy and they are likely to want to know his .Mac ID.

In other words, these rumors make absolutely NO sense and are just wishful thinking...Apple has JUST released new MBPs, and in no way we're gonna see anything new in that line until at least January 2009...

Again, it's just good photoshop; no new MBPs anytime soon.

Have you forgotten the fairly recent MR front-page posting suggesting that Intel is going to be pushing Apple to upgrade their computers far more often now? For that reason, I think it's highly likely we'll see new MBP fairly soon. There's plenty of suggestions that Intel forced Apple to make the most recent MBP upgrade. A design upgrade in the near future is quite probable.

Again though, I agree with you that these pics are fake, but because of the Tiger backgrounds, and nothing else.

Whoever photoshopped these made one critical mistake or I might have believed him.

They made much more mistakes than that.

- Bezel inconsistencies,
- Keyboard edge is jacked up
- Bezel is far too large, even for a 17"
- Black IR sensor is in the center ??? (how could they have gotten that one wrong.....? Oh yeah, in their failed attempt to do something different, they just moved the sensor over to the side like the MBP, just because they could and it would look different.)

What seems odd to to me is that they're changing the styling of the pro laptop to look like the consumer desktop, and changing the consumer laptop to look like the previous pro laptop. Apple likes their little product division boxes, so this doesn't feel right to me. Making the MB look like the iMac would make more sense to me.

I think that the macbook looks good but i would like to see a backlit keyboard for it, what are the chances that they will throw that on and make it that much better? Otherwise i think the black keyboard looks good. I am buying a black keyboard cover for my whitebook in a few days.

but i also have to say that these look kind fake.

I just saw the site link. He means on the same pages as the other bad mockups.

But did anyone else note that they had a photo of an Xserve RAID on there, and it was discontinued months ago?

Oh yeah, I see - that makes this whole thing even more unlikely since the MacBook Airs would never have had Tiger on them in the first place.

Also, in regards to your second point...

Apple discontinued the XServe RAID -- it is pictured.

I too call a fake.

Yup.

OK.. MacRumors' credibility just went through the floor.
....
We appreciate what you do.. but this'll make me think twice about believing stuff on the site.. and a front page story too! Shameful.

How do you explain the live iTunes account and password with an @apple.com domain?

I don't claim them to be real, but they were posted by Apple or someone close to Apple.

We shall see what happens...

Of course the debate is on whether or not these are real.
Apple Legal will make that determination.

Another thing is that I have seen a lot of debate over the design. Despite what we think of it now, when Steve gets up there and announces it, we will all think it is cool. After all we are Mac fans (Steve Jobs fans).

So....um....... if this doesn't qualify as a Page 2 story, what does?

This shouldn't be a main page article, there is too much evidence that leans towards the fake side. The Tiger backgrounds? That iTunes ad? The iPhone that hasn't changed- design changes aside, wouldn't you think that they would have at least included the App Store icon on the screen? The British spelling of aluminum? Too much wrong to think that it's right.

/I still like it here though :D

Help me here. Who would email out, to a public website, a website with a live account? Plus, how do you stumble across someone elses live account?

Photographer Consideration for New MacBook Pros

If anyone at Apple is reading this, I would only ask that you still maintain an anti-glare, true-color monitor option for your MBPs for those of us that rely on them for image/video editing for our businesses. Thank you.

Well, I guess you're right then. ;) Especially the 17-inch MBP screen. As if the MBP-17-inch wasn't big enough.

Anyway though, these are clearly photoshopped by a single human, or there would have been much fewer mistakes. But the Tiger background mistake stands out most of all. I could tell these images were fake in two seconds flat.

++. Give MR some credit here. These aren't some random mock-up images. They're from someone with an @apple.com address.

you are spot on with this one, I think this is the most telling indictment of this photo.

One way or the other I'm sure Apple will have some nice things to offer you on your birthday. ;) :)
Last year WWDC was on my birthday :)

...as well as a Maths exam :p

My friends birthday was the same day as the iMac aluminium intro.

On topic: probably fake. Are Apple really that stupid to post products on .mac?

i hope the new MBP doesn't look like that....if so, i'm so glad i got the last generation of a classic design...

Again, these things can be photoshopped. Unless you yourself can verify with surety that this guy is real and at Apple, I'll say it's your average Joe who did some photoshopping. And even if it is by someone at Apple, I don't believe these images.

Bah! Steve can tell me it's cool all he wants, I'll still think that black surround is ugly. Were he to give me one, then I'd think it was just as groovy as all get out. ;)

You can photoshop itunes account information
