Obviously the Kindle is not targeted to people who still live in their parents' basement.
Are people that live in their parents' basement locked down there?

Lmao apple got serverd?
It's not even an iPad the guy is using seriously? where the hell is the home button?
And not even my iPhone is that dark at full brightness, so I doubt the iPad is.
You're an idiot if you take either device to read near the pool. You're asking for water to kill either device. $6 paperback beats both products.
You're further an idiot if you sit out in the direct sun for any length of time you would be reading a book. Good luck destroying your skin and dealing with skin cancer.

It's me Rob again. I know I haven't been to confession in a long time. But I think it's time we have a talk. The iPad's screen is unbelievably glossy. Is there any way in your infinite power to have an anti-glare screen on it? It would really allow for better viewing outdoors, and it would save the world from these annoying ads. I would suggest that you might want to check with your boss, Mr. Jobs first.
Rob
Apple can easily refuted it with an ad depicting the man reading on the bed with his wife/girl sleeping at the side, without any lighting in the room.
Now, think of it. Is it more frequent and practical reading in the comfort of room or reading at the pool side in the risk of sunburn?
And, guys, half the population on the globe try their best to avoid direct sunlight.
Hope Apple releases a revised Ipad soon.
Full Flash Support
and then I will get one.
Please, I got an iPad with an anti-gloss screen protector that cost me 25.00 bucks. That ad is great, but the iPad works very well with the screen protector.
5 minutes later, she turns to him:
"Excuse me sir, how are you web browsing, playing games, and watching video on your e-reader?"
"Silly bitch, it's an iPad."

My wife and travel to islands frequently and she reads fast. We spend a lot of time lounging by the pool/beach. That $6 paperback would have been finished by the time we got off the plane. With a Kindle she can load 20 books on it and it weighs less than a single book - she can hold it all day if necessary.
The Kindle is better for reading for me as it gives me much less eye strain than the iPad.

iPad is for 1000000 things, gaming, browsing, multimedia, web surfing and go on, Kindle is for reading. It would be incredible if Kindle failed also at reading!
For reading, I consider the Kindle superior in every way to the iPad
Cute try, think it'll change how fast iPads are selling? Nope.
funny how you try to sound smart but completely misspell completely...but i digress...just turn up the damn brightness.
Has anyone tried anti-glare covers for iPad? Do they work? Something like this:
