Your posts are beyond predictable dumas. Apple does the very same thing, try buying an android phone there. Does Apple sell amazon's device. It doesn't bother me a bit that Amazon does the same thing and it will hurt neither. It's hard to tell if your posts are serious or not they are so ridiculous.

Who's the dumass here? Amazon is a virtual department store mall...they exist to sell everything from everyone...Apple basically sells the stuff they make and some others they make deals with and feel are compatible.

Its a silly comparison. Sorry.

This is abusive. Amazon will lose a lot of very loyal Apple customers as a result of this. I know I'll never buy another thing from Amazon now they've decided to try and hurt sales of the Apple TV. I hope hundreds of millions of other people take a similar stand.

Didn't know Amazon had any loyal Apple Customers.

ALL the loyal Apple Customers I know buy only from Apple...

Ok, game on. Then Apple should go ahead and remove all amazon apps from the App Store. Amazon is playing with fire(get it?, haha).

If this really means that Apple will not allow Amazon Prime native app on Apple TV, it bodes badly for other streaming services, or for stuff like Put.io and Plex.

Which means that when I am replacing my current Apple TVs this year, it might not be with Apple TVs....

I was really hoping for finally having the option of adding the tiles I use (including Google Photos, Google Music, etc.), but it looks like Apple is going to wall ATV off and keep out competing services.

BTW, I don't even like Amazon Prime compared to Netflix and almost never use it.

Honestly, I couldn't care less if I can buy Apple TV on Amazon. But I would love to watch Amazon Prime Video on the Apple TV. Shouldn't be a big deal, now, that Apple is opening up this platform, right? C'mon guys play together and be nice!

Unless this was sarcasm this is just blatant fanboi'ism that makes Apple people seem mentally unstable. Apple TV has been around for a long long time and has not "usered in a new era" of tv.

Add SDK/App Store & an Apple-run live TV package (maybe) and you've got quite a new product and a new era of tv.

Disappointing from Amazon, was really hoping for Amazon Prime on my new AppleTV. My prime membership is becoming less and less of value for me.

Amazon doesn't need Apple either, that's a fact.
Is it? If Google and Amazon would ban all Amazon apps from their app stores Amazon would certainly feel it especially since more and more people buy products on mobile devices/tablets.

Seems like if anything they just feel threatened by the new apple TV and are butt-hurt that nobody likes their fire devices.

How childish and draconian can you get. The customer confusion excuse is stupid as well. Why don't they just completely stop selling Apple products and make it official how the executives are a bunch of whining cry babies.

Irrelevant comparison. Apple sells a few hundred different items. Amazon is a mega-marketplace selling virtually everything. In some cases it just provides a virtual storefront for thousands of small retailers. If it is truly banning these products from "Marketplace", there's grounds for anti-trust action.

Yea this seems like a dumb move. But I do have prime and hope they make an app for the new AppleTV. And while I'm dreaming of unicorns and happy endings I also hope it works with the across services siri search. Yes please!

They'll sell the new Apple TV when it is released (and users can install Amazon prime video app)

But whatever. In the long run, if Amazon keeps randomly refusing to allow sales of certain products on its site, people will begin to look elsewhere.

that'll show them!

no, not really - I doubt any meaningful number of people will boycott amazon because you have to buy your apple tv somewhere else.

The company making this inconvenient is apple. I'm in apple eco system, but I also have amazon prime because it's a great service all around. My impression is that it's apple that not letting the amazon service be available on the service, making me use the smart TV function to get amazon, and having to run other cables form tv to my audio system, etc...

This is all a few steps ahead heavy speculation...Where the hell does plex and put.io come into play? I think the heart of the issue here is with the sales and rentals of movie/tv content...thats it. Apple obviously doesnt care about netflix hulu and Im sure given all this info any app that may stream your content from a storage location, etc...

Amazon is already being hurt by this. I'd consider getting an Amazon Prime membership if they offered an Apple TV app for it. No Apple TV support - no subscription.
For me it's the opposite, no support for Amazon on Apple TV. Won't buy an Apple TV
